  1. I used a piece of 3mm volara foam for mine. I think Mickey used buckram for his. Either will work, as long as the end result looks decent.
  2. Have you already tried overlapping the ends of the bridges a bit, then taping them to check the fit? If the fit is good, once taped and verified, then you can trim the bridge ends a bit.
  3. Hi, unfortunately the paint color you've chosen for your boots is now too light. You're looking for a "wheat" color that's close to the color of the boots in the CRL image, below. Your shoulder bridges are nearly there. I can't tell if it's the way you're standing, or the angle, but is one side uneven and bent more/less than the other?
  4. I've never needed fans in the DC/MD/VA region with my scout helmet. The ventilation with the ear holes is pretty good, especially if you're moving around.
  5. Dennis @Aradun, put electronics in his bucket, so I'm sure he'd be happy to help you out.
  6. For reference, the screen used blasters had a gloss/semi-gloss sheen to it:
  7. Thanks for the additional photos. With the outdoor lighting, I think what you have is okay. You can check what you have against the SDCC photos, which were also set against bright lighting: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/topic/21147-sdcc-mandalorian-scout-reference/
  8. Okay, yes, that portion inside the visor in the photo also needs to be white. I think that the gap you've marked is fine.
  9. Thanks for the photos. Some questions for you -- are you planning on basic clearance? Lancer/Level 2? Were you planning on spray weathering your kit? Your second photo of the "Front visor" has a bad link, so I'm not sure what area you're referring to as needing to be white? The size of the bolt recess on the sides of the visor is a bit concerning to me. That's decently wider than the standard 22mm 3M bolt. What top gap are you concerned about on the visor? The original helmets had a gap as well. The other items you've pointed out should be fixable with a bit of work.
  10. Typically, we use velcro to attach the bund to the flak vest. See this thread for more optional tips: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/topic/18894-some-tips-for-keeping-your-scout-costume-together-while-trooping/
  11. The bund may still be too tall to cover with your chest armor. Generally, your bund shouldn't extend higher than the side straps of your armor and, as Aradun said, it's not supposed to be tucked into your belt either.
  12. From what you've posted, this is what I see so far: 1) It may be the lighting, but your boot soles look really dark, even for basic. They look closer to "chocolate" vs the "tan" called for in the CRL. Perhaps photos in better light would make this clearer. 2) The upper strap on your knee armor looks wider than the 1/2" called for in the CRL. It looks like it's either 3/4" or 1", but I'm just eyeballing it. The upper strap is optional anyhow. 3) Your bund still looks about 2-2.5" too long. I recommend that you get your belt and upper armor fitted, and then we'll take a look at what adjustments are needed for your bund. Start by fitting your belt just under the navel. Then to fit your chest armor, and we'll see how the bund looks from there.
  13. Sew on for the soft goods, this stuff for the plastic parts. https://www.amazon.com/VELCRO-Brand-Industrial-Strength-Fasteners/dp/B00006IC2T/ref=sr_1_3?crid=OWJQJU9Y7RP0&keywords=black+2"+velcro+adhesive&qid=1679172970&sprefix=black+2+velcro+adhesive%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-3
  14. Nice work. You should be happy with the Mon Cal helmet. It's quite close to the RS in terms of accuracy.
  15. That color difference should not be an issue at all.
  16. It may be near the borderline of being too much, but I'll reserve final assessment until I can see it in outdoor lighting.
  17. 1) Yes, filling the seam is currently listed as optional in the CRL. ABS Paste is the ideal, but if you can't match the plastic and don't want to do a repaint, then you may not want to go that route. 2) 3M bolts: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/topic/10270-fs-accurate-tb-helmet-hardware-kit-headband-kit-ongoing/#comment-86123 or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002BUMS8Y/?coliid=ILTCA2MHBZT97&colid=1FW2Z38AXTS5Q&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it 3) Lancer reviews are a lengthy process involving multiple people reviewing and coming to a consensus on the application. Due to the time involved, we do not do Lancer "pre-reviews". Almost everyone who submits their application has some sort of minor update that's needed. If you have specific Lancer questions, similar to what you're asking in #1, then you can post those in the "ask an armorer forum". Otherwise, the best way to know what needs updating is to apply.
  18. Hello and welcome!
  19. Hey, what's going on. Welcome to the Pathfinders Detachment. You might want to take a look at this thread is a good guide for your build: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/topic/17305-lancer-build-tutorial/ I am not familiar with Carmac's Prop Shop, but we're happy to take a look at the goods as your build progresses. You might want to look into image hosting on imgur, flickr, or dropbox, as the board's hosting capacity is limited, which makes reviewing details more difficult. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/22990-sharing-photos-with-dropbox/#comment-215704 http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/23053-faq-how-do-i-post-images/ You might also want to take a look at this thread as well, regarding Lancer/Level 2 apps: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/topic/21881-rotj-scout-armor-kit-accuracy-and-level-2-lancer-applications/ Overall, from what I can see in your photos, the only thing that stands out right now is your bund length. Average bund length is about 8-9 inches and yours looks longer than that. Still, that's something to deal with once you start fitting your armor, so I'd leave it be for now. Good luck and let us know if you have any questions.
  20. The way the dark line follows at the bottom edge makes it look like a shadow to me.
