My feeling at this point is that the production trooper trumps the CGI one, but let's see how far we get. So far only Glen has shown interest in building and he's going with the MC boots. -
Correct. If you're intending on carrying a blaster you should just wait. If your app sits open for more than six months we would have you reapply anyway. Don't worry we're not going anywhere!

Probably should get a new tank since the tank is required to have 4 rank bars as well as the trapezoid decal in the center -

I know right? It's almost like we are leaving it up to the costumer to best decide how to do it since the game gave us no guidance -
We've got a new member of the Pathfinders family! Today the LMO team announced that the Jedi Fallen Order Scout is now live for Legion Approval. And the First-in-the-Legion JFO Scout is none other than @MrPoopie himself, TB-36000! I want to thank Justin and @The Wayner for their hard work on getting this done. Justin modeled the new parts and 3D printed them, while Cody created the great harness used to hold it all together. I also want to thank our LMO rep, @mrrikki for his guidance and making this as smooth a process as possible. You can check out the new CRL here: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Scouttrooper_jedifallenorder If you are interested in building a JFO Scout, we've got a new Armory set up for it here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/194-the-scout-trooper-jedi-fallen-order-armory/ This is also a good time to announce that @MrPoopie will be joining the Armor Team, not only as our JFO Scout expert, but as our 3D printing expert and 74-Z expert. Anybody who knows Justin for the past few years knows he is the MAN when it comes to 3D printing and the speeder bike he designed for the Southern California Garrison has set the standard for large scale props. Well, that is one new CRL off our list! But we've got a whole pile more to go. If you would like to get involved, please check out our pending forum. Maybe you can be our next CRL model! http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/115-costumes-pending-lmo-approval/

I have to agree, it's a bit light. I would shoot for the more medium gray color of your decals.

Hip armor attachment question
BikerScout007 replied to Thrawndike Bar's topic in Shoretrooper Armor/Helmet
I just did this real quick. Hope these help. I'm sure other folks have different ways of doing this, but this has worked for me so far. And I can get dressed by myself. Something I can't do in my Scout! First goes the ab armor with ammo pouch already attached. Then I clip on the hip armor to the front (sorry Paul, I split your fauld in the front because I wanted to put it on like a belt instead of a skirt!) Right now the fauld is not connected in the back Then I put on the belt, pulling it under the ammo pouch strap and attaching it to some velcro I have on the front of the ab armor. Then in the back, I loop the right belt strap through the belt clip I bought from Rob Kittel, that I glued a snap onto with E6000. I use that snap to attach the opposite snap on the fauld. I've also inserted the plate that closes up the ab, which is held in place by rare earth magnets. Then I put the TD plate on top! Done! -

Please take a look at my build thread. For the chest/back connection I made a "belt" of the 1.5 webbing that goes all the way round on the inside and closes in the front with velcro. The belt closes in the back with two 2 inch straps of nylon or polypro that velcro to each other. The straps are riveted to each end of the plastic belt with ONE rivet on each side. Check out my build thread for a pic that sort of shows this -

I thought Inter just licensed the design from Hi-Tec? Hi-Tec is from Modesto, which is George Lucas' hometown. So makes sense LFL would use a local company for costumes that were made in northern California. -
Hip armor attachment question
BikerScout007 replied to Thrawndike Bar's topic in Shoretrooper Armor/Helmet
It goes on the outside of the tabs. You just need to pull your belt tight over the whole rig. The hip armor/belt/thermal detonator/ammo pouch/ab armor setup is the most complicated part of the costume! But it all works together well once you get it on. -
Correct, inside the tank. You use the rivets to hold it in place. See my build for an example: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/18015-bikerscout007s-strider-build/

The cummerbund should tuck under your chest armor about an inch and then stop right at the belt. For most people that's about 8-9 inches in height, if you wear the belt on your waist. Not your hips as is fashionable these days. You may want to wait until you have everything on first. But refer to that post I linked above. RE: the tank --- the CRL specifies decals for those details. Even for Level 1. -

Wait. Sorry I just noticed after looking at this on my PC Your tank has the rank bars and tank detail actually carved into the tank. That will need to be filled in and those replaced with decals. -

Okay -- A. Wampa Wear makes a great set of gloves, as mentioned above. Imperial Boots does as well. My experience, WW ships faster, but your mileage may vary. B. Tank looks good. That's about how well it looked in the movie. I think too many folks try to make this armor all neat and tidy, which goes against the spirit of the rough nature of these kits in the film C. You can use a t-strap. That's how plenty of folks used to do it a long time ago before we discovered the zipties. But my experience, the zip ties are better. There's a reason why they used them in the film. And they are easy to do: D. The arm plates are affixed to the arm with velcro straps. All the sizes needed are listed in our CRL: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Scout_trooper E. Weapons depend on your Garrison. Some are more strict than others. My Garrison and UKG for example, only allow weapons specifically noted on the CRL. Look on the CRL toward the bottom under "Optional Accessories" for the weapons a Biker Scout is permitted to carry on a troop. F. I think your cummerbund looks a little long and you need to pull your codpiece up. I know folks tend to get fixated on the armor, but the soft goods are what make this costume really look good. Please refer to this post about best practices: -
mickeymark34's Studio Creations Build Thread

Sure understood. I had to reapply hot glue to my RS because I left my bucket in a car when it was 115 degrees outside. But it's held ever since. I've also done it to my KS bucket and my Sean Fields Shoretrooper bucket. So far so good, but I haven't taken them out to the desert. But I have trooped in typical Southern California heat without problems. -

After I cut out the shape of the lens in the Hobart lens, I got the hot glue REALLY hot. Which means you gotta let the gun heat up for awhile before you start using it. Use a lot of glue, don't be frugal with it. You might make a little bit of a mess with the hot glue -- you'll just have to clean it up once the lens is in place. I only used glue on the sides of the lens, not the top and bottom. Once you push the lens into place, you need to hold it in the glue for a few minutes. I'd say at least 5-10 minutes until the glue has dried and cooled. How did you ruin your other lens? If it's got hot glue on it, you should be able to scrape it right off. You could try warming the lens up with the hair dryer right before you press it into the glue just to loosen it up a little bit, but I didn't have to do it. And the hobart lens is so thin, too much heat would warp it quick (I've definitely done THAT before). -
I also mentioned that I did not do the work You can approach either way. Obviously ripping out the inner seams will create a cleaner look, but we are not going between your legs to check the seams! You don't even have to do your patches as 4 separate pieces. Folks have been doing them as only 2 (or even 1 big one) for years. @f3tt4l1f3 has some really good tips in his post, check them out.

Hey Chad Recommendations are based on a whole bunch of criteria, as no one size fits all. Also -- what costume are you asking about? We've got quite a few here. Finally, are you in Long Beach, CA? If so, please join our local Pathfinder group, Scout Team Six -- we can help connect you with local Pathfinders in the area that can help with your build. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1491559237815157
