Mountain Trooper costume draft
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Mountain Trooper HQ
It does a bit except for the flap. Doesn't have the Scout diagonal cutout. That might make it easier. I imagine one could take a set of Scout pouches and just redo the flap. That should be a pretty easy mod to make. -
Mountain Trooper costume draft
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Mountain Trooper HQ
Alright, I'll see what we can do. I don't think Pilot Bay will be a good option, judging by how backed up they usually are. I'll try some other folks. -

Considering that every Biker Scout in the Detachment has to buy gloves that are more than that, $50 for some high quality replica gloves is more than fair. If you want to wear the cheap gloves for the front and back pictures, that's fine, but for the close up I'll need to use the real gloves. I'll have to find another way to get that picture. -
Order 66 ROTJ Scout Trooper CRL Video
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Yeah I'd say 9-10 hours went into this. But I learned a lot and refined the process so I could probably cut that time in half for new videos. -

LOL probably! I messed up a whole lot of times. I didn't work from a script... other than the CRL print out. -

@AradunFF I had to leave a lot of jokes on the cutting room floor. I tried to make this as lean and mean as I could! Cut down about 2 hours to 20 minutes. -

I was going to do the Shoretrooper Captain as well, but I am still fixing some things up on mine so it wasn't ready to go. I definitely want to do some more of these walkthrough videos, but they do take time. This was pretty much my whole day from shooting to editing! -

Lancer awarded. Congrats! -
On behalf of Pathfinders Command, it is my pleasure to welcome Ardeshir "equuspolo" Radpour (TB-42128) to the illustrious ranks of the Lancer scouts! Great job, @equuspolo!! Make sure you send a picture of your coolest pose to @Shortstack for addition to the Pathfinders Hall of Fame. Check out TB-42128's application here:

Hey Pathfinders! For 6.6.2020 (Order 66 Day), the Legion asked if I would do a walkthrough the main Scout Trooper CRL. This isn't the most polished production, but I post it here to the extent it helps any new builders out there.

On behalf of Pathfinders Command I'd like to congratulate Pete "@Retrofire" Holzemer on his new promotion to Captain of the Guard. Since joining the Pathfinders Detachment, Pete has been a highly active member, always willing to help out a builder with their questions and offer advice with clear, concise answers. For the past 2 terms, Pete has served as a DCA and handled the many Lancer applicants we get each year. He also took part in the drafting of the Rebels Biker Scout CRL. He has shown a great knowledge of the Biker Scout costume, a cool, even disposition, and a passion for the Detachment that makes him a great choice to be Captain of the Guard. Let's all congratulate Pete on his new role!

Shoulder bell zip tie question
BikerScout007 replied to order-66's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
The only part of the ziptie that can be seen is the part in between the shoulder bridge and the shoulder bell. That's all we care about. How it's setup on the parts we can't see is not part of the judging process. -

You can do either one. I've seen it done both ways. -
Nice job! @Jennk182 look at this!

Rebels Biker Scout Vendor List
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Rebels Biker Scout HQ
You'll need to contact the vendors. We don't keep tabs on what particular vendors charge. Send them PMs on Facebook and I'm sure you'll get quick responses. -
Well if your costume is built screen accurate, you need to wear the vest! See, in the film, the codpiece and the vest are all part of one big garment. The top of the cod is sewn to the bottom of the front of the vest and the black strap connects to the back of the vest. That's how I roll!

Flip the rectangle shaped greeblie on your TD over so the prongs are pointing up. Other than that, good for basic!

New and ready for building... but I can't decide!
BikerScout007 replied to FabianFriethjoph's topic in Getting Started
The Shoretrooper definitely has more resources available to it. Plenty of armor and soft goods makers, as well as a huge community of support. The Kashyyyk is more limited in this regard, as we never seem to have more than 55 at any given time (I'm convinced any new Kashys we get actually bought old kits from ex-Kashys!) Also many folks find the Kashyyyk soft goods very troublesome, especially the 16 pouch setup. But we have a great Kashy armor team to help with your questions (@ferra and @Jakeputt) and @MrPoopie can answer your 3D printing questions. So if you want to try something a bit more challenging, give the Kashy a go! We could always use a few more.- 1 reply

No pattern, just the measurements as shown in the photos. It's hard to nail down a pattern since we all come in so many sizes and shapes. Many people do a pattern on paper or on spare fabric first to test it out. I would start with the measurements shown above and adjust as needed. The patches show more from the front than the back when standing. It's easier to tell where they should go from a seated position rather than a standing one, since they are designed to keep you comfortable when riding your speeder bike!
