  1. EDIT: Ginny from UKG has been keeping the 501st.com forum up to date on the goings-on for Celebration Europe. Please check the forum here: https://www.501st.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=249
  2. Most of us don't use helmet fans. The Scout was designed to have good air flow and it really does! That channel in the back that connects the ear holes does a great job of circulating air around your head. But that's most of us, there are a few who do -- maybe one will chime in.
  3. I thought I saw you walking around on Friday!
  4. It's with some sadness that I announce that Pete @Retrofire Holzemer is stepping down from his role as Detachment Guard and DCA, returning back to the ranks as a regular grunt. Plastic spacemen are wonderful, but sometimes the needs of real life get in the way and Pete felt he was not able to give the positions the time they deserve. Pete has been an enthusiastic member of the Pathfinders since 2016 and hit the ground running with his positive attitude and willingness to help out new recruits. After serving in the Armor Team, I tapped Pete to be a DCA and Level 2 judge based on his experience and knowledge of the Scout as well as his professional demeanor and call-it-down-the-middle sense of judgment. Those skills also came in handy when Pete was promoted to Detachment Guard shortly after. He has had a giant presence here at the Pathfinders and it is no exaggeration to say he will be greatly missed. For now, I've given Pete the title of "Armorer", as his expertise will always be welcome when he has time to return! Which leads me to my next announcement.... For new Detachment Guard, the choice was easy. Corey @Chopper DiPietro has, similar to Pete, been a huge presence on this forum since joining the Pathfinders back in 2017 and his level of expertise is something to behold. He has a knowledge of both the Scout and its many propmakers that astounds me on a daily basis. He's also in the middle of a LONG Shoretrooper build that I hope he finishes soon As Detachment Guard, Corey is not only the chief armorer, but also the ultimate authority on our forum moderation. I know he will handle this role with the excellence that he has brought to the Detachment as DCA. I would like everyone to join me in congratulating Corey and wishing Pete the very best.
  5. We don't care what you do with the parts of the costume that's can't be seen.
  6. On behalf of Pathfinders' Command, it is my pleasure to promote Antonio "Legotron" Bellon Vazquez (TB-44044) to the rank of Ranger! @Legotron has completed 100 troops as a Pathfinder, showing true dedication to this Detachment! Congrats, Antonio! Please post a cool pic for use on the Ranger Wall of the Pathfinder Hall of Fame. I've also let @plagu3is know you are eligible to purchase the Ranger patch. Wear it with pride, Pathfinder!
  7. Me personally? I would just add it!
  8. Well done! I've upgraded you to Pathfinder status. Welcome to the Detachment!
  9. So.... are GA's armor files fine for the current CRL or no?
  10. So the biceps in the BF2 model look different. Did GA just take one bicep and mirror it?
  11. I wonder if that piece could be modified.... Yeah I know Galactic Armory is a big vendor and I do enjoy his 3d printing videos on YouTube, but like I always say, armor makers do not determine our standards. And neither do 3D video game modelers who don't do their research and take shortcuts
  12. @Jakeputt -- what are the differences between the armor of the ROTS Kashy and the BF2 Kashy?
  13. We are not going forward with the Assault trooper, for the reasons stated in that thread. It doesn't seem intended to be a different trooper, just their interpretation of the standard CB. I will pull that thread. @MrPoopie do you know of any good Kashy 3d files?
  14. Well hopefully a builder in the UK will chime in with specific materials for you to use!
  15. In the UK? Your best bets are @Chef or @RS Prop Masters. Of those two, @Chef actually makes his own soft parts. RS contracts out to Imperial Boots. PS. I bumped you up to 501st Legion status. Welcome, Trooper!
  16. Any basic pant pattern should be fine, but you'll want to leave off the pockets.
  17. That's what Level 2 is for, to reward those folks that go the extra mile. I am all for that. Here's the truth though -- this isn't going to be our next blockbuster CRL. If we even have 20 of these at any one time, I would be thrilled. I don't want to set up unnecessary hurdles for a costume that's likely to have only a few wearers (and a lot of them will probably be FOTKs that want to adapt their current rig). I appreciate you filling in these details on this costume though -- all this still will go into the CRL, though some of the very particular bits will be for L2. I try to maintain consistency with our CRLs, and I can't go more accurate on one than I do on our most popular CRL, the ROTJ Scout.
  18. Those differences aren't any greater than some of the differences I see between the various Scout helmet makers, and we accept them for Level 1 and MOST of them for Level 2. If we went by this rubric, we'd basically only be taking RS Props and EFX for Level 1, and that's not the case. Level 1 is an "at a glance" standard, and at a glance, there's not enough major differences to warrant making it a Level 1 requirement. Level 2 -- absolutely will require a TLJ/TROS helmet. That might be different at FISD, but this ain't FISD. They had their chance to build this CRL and they passed.
  19. @MrPoopie might be able to help you with some of those parts as he has modeled many of them for 3D printing. The pants seem pretty simple and there are probably some pre-made ones you could just modify. Or commission a costume maker to make you some. The TFA helmet will be fine for a Level 1 Treadspeeder Driver. We will only require the TLJ/TROS helmet for L2
  20. Very well done @jennyruth! I look forward to welcoming you to the Pathfinders!
  21. Paul's files are great, but we have plenty of troopers on the roster that have gotten approved with Sean's files! You are in good hands. And hey, if you want to be a Squad Leader with an ammo pouch, you can always be the Squad Leader from "The Mandalorian": https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:ST_squad_leader_mandalorian
  22. Hey Juan, welcome to the Pathfinders forum. Glad to see you are on your way to building a Scout Trooper. We have a list of approved vendors here. These are vendors who have props that have been used in approved costumes. The Cyber Craft is not on the list: If you are looking for listings by other members, the Trade Forum is where you want to be: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/155-trade-forum/ Best of luck on your journey! We are here to help.
  23. Printing armor is totally feasible and with some armors (Shoretrooper especially) it is common. PETG is the go to for printing armor. It has a higher heat resistance than PLA, which tends to warp when in the sun. I've heard that the wear issue isn't all that bad, but my Shoretrooper is ABS from Imperial Surplus. I believe Kevin will sell pieces a la carte so you may want to hit him up https://www.facebook.com/imperialsurplus
