So.... are GA's armor files fine for the current CRL or no? -

So the biceps in the BF2 model look different. Did GA just take one bicep and mirror it? -

I wonder if that piece could be modified.... Yeah I know Galactic Armory is a big vendor and I do enjoy his 3d printing videos on YouTube, but like I always say, armor makers do not determine our standards. And neither do 3D video game modelers who don't do their research and take shortcuts -

@Jakeputt -- what are the differences between the armor of the ROTS Kashy and the BF2 Kashy? -

We are not going forward with the Assault trooper, for the reasons stated in that thread. It doesn't seem intended to be a different trooper, just their interpretation of the standard CB. I will pull that thread. @MrPoopie do you know of any good Kashy 3d files? -
Well hopefully a builder in the UK will chime in with specific materials for you to use!
-
In the UK? Your best bets are @Chef or @RS Prop Masters. Of those two, @Chef actually makes his own soft parts. RS contracts out to Imperial Boots. PS. I bumped you up to 501st Legion status. Welcome, Trooper!

Any basic pant pattern should be fine, but you'll want to leave off the pockets.
-
That's what Level 2 is for, to reward those folks that go the extra mile. I am all for that. Here's the truth though -- this isn't going to be our next blockbuster CRL. If we even have 20 of these at any one time, I would be thrilled. I don't want to set up unnecessary hurdles for a costume that's likely to have only a few wearers (and a lot of them will probably be FOTKs that want to adapt their current rig). I appreciate you filling in these details on this costume though -- all this still will go into the CRL, though some of the very particular bits will be for L2. I try to maintain consistency with our CRLs, and I can't go more accurate on one than I do on our most popular CRL, the ROTJ Scout.
-
Those differences aren't any greater than some of the differences I see between the various Scout helmet makers, and we accept them for Level 1 and MOST of them for Level 2. If we went by this rubric, we'd basically only be taking RS Props and EFX for Level 1, and that's not the case. Level 1 is an "at a glance" standard, and at a glance, there's not enough major differences to warrant making it a Level 1 requirement. Level 2 -- absolutely will require a TLJ/TROS helmet. That might be different at FISD, but this ain't FISD. They had their chance to build this CRL and they passed.
-
@MrPoopie might be able to help you with some of those parts as he has modeled many of them for 3D printing. The pants seem pretty simple and there are probably some pre-made ones you could just modify. Or commission a costume maker to make you some. The TFA helmet will be fine for a Level 1 Treadspeeder Driver. We will only require the TLJ/TROS helmet for L2

Paul's files are great, but we have plenty of troopers on the roster that have gotten approved with Sean's files! You are in good hands. And hey, if you want to be a Squad Leader with an ammo pouch, you can always be the Squad Leader from "The Mandalorian": https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:ST_squad_leader_mandalorian

Hey Juan, welcome to the Pathfinders forum. Glad to see you are on your way to building a Scout Trooper. We have a list of approved vendors here. These are vendors who have props that have been used in approved costumes. The Cyber Craft is not on the list: If you are looking for listings by other members, the Trade Forum is where you want to be: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/155-trade-forum/ Best of luck on your journey! We are here to help.

Printing armor is totally feasible and with some armors (Shoretrooper especially) it is common. PETG is the go to for printing armor. It has a higher heat resistance than PLA, which tends to warp when in the sun. I've heard that the wear issue isn't all that bad, but my Shoretrooper is ABS from Imperial Surplus. I believe Kevin will sell pieces a la carte so you may want to hit him up https://www.facebook.com/imperialsurplus

It is with great sadness that we induct another member into the Halls of the Eternal Pathfinders. Shawn Chak (TB-7576@chakster) of Singapore Garrison became one with the Force on 25 April 2022. Shawn had the distinction of being the very first Biker Scout in Singapore Garrison. Buckets off. https://www.facebook.com/501stSingaporeGarrison/photos/a.185893734941880/1845972888933948/

Home made Boots, post your findings
BikerScout007 replied to Digger's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
You still cover everything with the Crowprops boot as you would with regular hiking boots. He just colored his white. You would not leave any of the Crowprops boots exposed other than the soles. -
Hey Pathfinders! Today I would like to announce that Joe @MinimoMendoza has officially joined Pathfinders Command as our newest PR Officer! He is taking over for @Michael_Davis26019 who is stepping down. I want to thank Michael for his year of service as DPRO! All the cool stuff you saw on our IG and FB pages was courtesy of Mike! Most of you know Joe as one of our Shoretrooper armorers, and he will still be doing that. He has been a constant presence on our Virtual Armor parties and we are really glad to have him in this new role. So let's all give Minimo a big welcome!

First Time ROTJ Scout Trooper Build (3D Printed)
BikerScout007 replied to Cpt_Chops's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Level 2 requires 1.5. As long as you have 1.5, you are fine. No issues with the taper. -

Are you an approved Pathfinder? Do you love Facebook and Instagram? Can you write a pithy caption for photos? With proper spelling and grammar?? Then you might be who we need for the PR team! We are looking for a new PRO, specifically to post Pathfinder related photos to our Instagram and Facebook accounts. So images involving the following: New member approvals New Level 2 award recipients New CRLs and First-to-the-Legions Cool shots of Pathfinders at events And anything else that spreads the glory of our Detachment! Prior Legion PR experience is not necessarily required but an understanding of social media and how it works definitely is. If you live in a cabin in the woods with no internet and communicate by carrier pigeon, this may not be the position for you. But you probably can't see this post either! As a DPRO you become a member of Detachment Command, which enables you to purchase any official Detachment member merch offered by the Legion, and any special Command runs the Detachment may do (though with the limits in recent years this may not happen often). So if you are a social media maverick and are a bit of a self-starter (I don't want to have to walk you through your duties!) then please shoot me a PM and let's talk. Also, because of limits with our Instagram account, at this time we are only accepting applicants living in the United States. We have a PR officer overseas already and she has issues accessing some of our accounts.
