  1. If you're feeling game, this fellow made his own gloves: You could try to do it yourself using non-leather materials. Or maybe ask @Cpt_Chops if he can do it for you.
  2. Hey Markus! Keep in mind we're all volunteers with jobs and other real life concerns. Getting on the phone is not something that is always possible. Also, remember that this portion of the site is public, so you're exposing your personal information. I'm going to remove your number from your posts, for your own internet safety. It looks like you are looking for some very specific direction. So I will just tell you what I did. Remember though -- there is no "Shoretrooper in a box". You will need to shape, glue, paint, sand, and weather the armor. We have lots of WIPS showing these processes. I purchased my armor from Imperial Surplus. It comes in a kit form and will need all the work I described above: https://www.facebook.com/imperialsurplus I purchase my soft armor from Imperial Boots: https://www.imperialboots.com/ I got my gloves from Endor Finders: https://www.endorfinders.com/shop/rogue-one-trooper-gloves I got my boots from Ardmoor: https://www.ardmoor.co.uk/products/orca-bay-brecon-chelsea-boots-ob-brecon Hip armor and other parts you can get from Mr. Paul: https://www.facebook.com/totalgrunt My total build price was around $2000. Shoretroopers are one of our more expensive costumes. This was my build thread to the extent it will help give you some guidance: I hope this is enough info to help get you going. Building a Shoretrooper is a long process and usually takes several weeks if not months. So just keep in mind this is a marathon, not a race, and we are here to help you along the way.
  3. Ah good catch. I thought since Glen posted it, it was local.
  4. To add to what @Chopper said -- it's not just that the tanks were not flush. They were made to be detachable. The tanks were held to the back armor with a 1/2 inch elastic strap. Which is why you see them sliding all over the place in the film. If you want Level 2, you need to maintain this look. If you want to see how I attached my tank, check out this link:
  5. Hey Pathfinders! @AradunFF pinged me the other day to let me know that @Schraeder is zeroing on 400(!) troops as a Pathfinder. That is an absolutely incredible accomplishment and one not likely to be eclipsed anytime soon (or ever!). To acknowledge Rangers that go above and beyond, I have added "Cogs" to their Hall of Fame photo for each additional batch of 100 troops attained. I will also be sending a Certificate to @Schraeder for each milestone he's achieved. Keep on troopin'!
  6. Check out the pinned posts in the Biker Scout HQ. Not only is there an approved Vendors list, but there are also CRL walkthroughs and other things to get you started. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/91-biker-scout-hq/ It's also highly recommended to check out the WIP threads and start getting an idea of what is involved in the build: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/96-biker-scout-wip/ Once you get started, you'll want to start you own so we can help guide you down the Path!
  7. You are absolutely right on the access requests. There is certain information that one has to be a 501st member to see. Once you are approved, you will be able to request access. I guess the first step is deciding which armor you are going to pursue. Did you have a choice already? Obviously ROTJ Biker Scouts are our most popular, followed by the Shoretroopers, but we have many other choices.
  8. The only change made recently was to allow for an open collar. The base flight suits are still the same. You can use flight suits or coveralls. Whatever works. Something like this works well as a base: https://www.amazon.com/Kolossus-Cotton-Blend-Sleeve-Coverall/dp/B07BK8KRQ3/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=26C6XUHYUGUER&keywords=kolossus+coveralls+for+men&qid=1663026085&sprefix=kolossus%2Caps%2C229&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A24GILMCOPBAO1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExS0JQWFpQSThOSU1TJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzk5ODQ4MTlDT08wTUgwM0lNMSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwODg2NjU4MktER0hPSkdIS0pXQyZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
  9. There were inconsistencies in the elastic from trooper to trooper so it was left open to the costumer.
  10. Not at all! Just giving you advice based on my experience. Good luck on your approval and if you need help we are here for you.
  11. No we don't get down to that level of exactness when it comes to the weathering. Look -- my advice to you is just apply for approval. There's a chance your GML might be like "LOOKS GOOD TO ME" and this is all moot. And if they aren't, well you already know where to start.
  12. Yes, each Shoretrooper has its own CRL -- and thus their own requirements. Just like a Return of the Jedi Scout can't be weathered like one from The Mandalorian. That's why we encourage folks to come to the Detachment before they start building!
  13. No because it would have to be to a Shoretrooper Specialist. As they only exist in Battlefront 2 currently, it's unlikely they will show up in "Andor".
  14. @MrPoopie 3D modeled and printed them out. Maybe he would have some insight there.
  15. The level of weathering allowed for a particular trooper is purely based on what the canon sources tell us. That's why Scouts and Patrols are "Light", Shoretrooper is "Moderate" and Mando Scout is "moderate to heavy". Because that's how they look in the sources. The CRL does say "Moderate" so that's what you are limited to. And the photos in the CRL give you an idea of what you should be shooting for. But like I said above, your GML might be like "looks fine to me" and approve you. I don't think that's what will happen based on my experience, but there's not always consistency from GML to GML. Hey always happy to talk about this stuff. Questions like these help others learn.
  16. I mean... when you start getting into "your character and what your character has been through and what he will do" I'd say you were bordering more on Cosplay than what we do in the Legion -- which is more along the lines of reenactment. The CRL calls for moderate weathering, and in my opinion, you've gone past that into heavy. We don't have any canon references of heavy weathering and that's why it's not an option. Now bear in mind, the Detachment doesn't do approvals -- your GML does. And if they look at it and feel fine about the weathering, you'll be approved. It's not up to me. This is all just my opinion based on experience. But chances are the GML is going to look at the CRL photo and compare it to yours and say you need to knock it back. That's my advice! Do with it what you will.
  17. Glad you fixed the buckles. Biggest issue for me is the weathering. There's just too much of it and it's a bit too deliberate. Not sure how you did it -- if you used acrylics I would grab some rubbing alcohol and knock it back a lot. The in game trooper looks like this. I would go for that: But the build itself looks good. Hip armor could be better, but it's not the worst I've seen. Good job overall, I'd just really pull back on the weathering.
  18. Try just wearing it around your chin and see if that makes a difference. It does for me. Same holds for my Shoretrooper -- if I wear it over my nose, I get fog.
  19. Just a question - but do you wear your balaclava over your nose? I have found that makes a difference. If I wear it over my nose, I get fog. If I wear it under my chin, I don't
  20. Excellent! Thank you. It's always great to see prop makers keeping up with the CRL.
  21. Both versions are allowed under the CRL -- as you see Scouts in ROTJ with and without weathering. So it's really your choice. Just keep in mind the Scout weathering is considered "light" and if you overdo it, that could hold up approval.
  22. I was wondering that myself! I didn't get to the forearms because I wanted to study them some more, so thanks!
