WIP - ROTJ Biker Scout Trooper 2022

Well done, Nate! What's your TK-ID? -
I sent info to Giovanni from Crowprops as well.... waiting to hear back from him about it
-
That's a beaut! Thanks for sharing
-
Okay done! Your old account history is now part of this account. And I upgraded you to 501st Pathfinders status. You should be all set.
-
Well remember, chest pockets will most likely be concealed by the vest, cummerbund and armor. No need making unnecessary holes if you don't have to.
-
I wouldn't worry about any of that stuff. At least not until you've suited up and seen what details are concealed by your armor. Particularly the side pockets. I left mine as is, because with everything on, you can't see them. And on a troop you're going to want pockets! The original flight suits had seams on it as well. Most of them are obscured by the quality of the film used in 1983

I found your card images and sent them to your new email address. Do you want me to merge your old forum account with this new one?

Fist fighting trees and teddy bears: A Scout Story

Chrisx909x made my boots and some of my soft goods. I got my original vest from KriptonTop -- both guys produce quality goods! -
Fist fighting trees and teddy bears: A Scout Story
BikerScout007 replied to Safetymanual's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Looks like it's already trimmed, though once you start trying it on you may find it needs some adjustments. The guy in your Garrison was right. Because everything is held by straps and elastic, the armor is very forgiving. Getting the soft parts right is where this kit really shines! -
Hey Pathfinders! In conjunction with the LMO team, we have done a revision of all 7(!) Shoretrooper CRLs. Nothing has changed in them content-wise, and the L2 requirements remain the same, but over the past 7 years of nits and revisions and changes, they were getting a little rough. So we have done a top-to-bottom revision of all of them, cleaning up language to make it simpler and more direct, and fixing any spelling mistakes and other grammatical errors that have accumulated over the years. Now there is still a LOT of text in the CRLs, as the Shoretrooper is a fairly complex build and there's a lot of details. For the back plate, for example, there's just too much going on to reduce it much. So for that, we just listed the requirements from top to bottom, starting at the collar and working down to the bottom of the piece. We hope this helps you with your builds, whether you are shooting for first-time approval or going for L2!

Cheatham Grove is the way I'm leaning. There are lots of places in California to photograph tall trees, but I think for the 40th we need to go for it!
-
We are absolutely going to need the help of GGG! Thanks for chiming in
-
@BigJasoni@Whistler thoughts on this? I looked up the calendar of events at Cheatham Grove and didn't find anything. That's most likely going to be our spot: https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=421

Treadspeeder Driver CRL drafting
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Treadspeeder Driver HQ
CRL updated with the latest draft. I've asked LMO to review the language while we wait for @JollyRajRto finish his last few photos. We are waiting on a new shin armor pic and new front/back. Otherwise, you should be pretty safe using this draft as a guide for your builds. If LMO has any changes I will post them up! -
Happy 40th Anniversary, Scout Trooper!

I've been to the Sequoias up in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Not the same trees but pretty dang close: -
Okay so here's a list of things I've thought of that we can work from: 1. Date. Obviously May 25th would have been perfect, but Memorial Day weekend, kids still in school, etc. will probably make this problematic. @BigJasoni suggested June as a good time of year, so I think we should go with that. I will start a poll to see what Saturday works best for folks. 2. Logistics -- how are we getting there? Need to know closest airport, roads. 3. Accommodations -- what are the closest hotels? 4. The meeting spot -- we need to decide where we are doing the meetup. Should be somewhere that is convenient for people to find. I think we need to prioritize that over finding exact locations from the film. If we can do both, great, but I don't want people getting lost. Also we need to be cognizant of the environment and not do any damage to the area we shoot in. 5. Local organizations - Once a meeting spot is decided upon, what local organizations need to be notified? Police? National Park Services? It's one thing to have one or two people do a one-off photo, but once we are talking dozens then usually some sort of arrangements with local official need to be made. Will we need insurance? We should also coordinate with Golden Gate Garrison since this is their turf. 6. Charity -- do we want to use this opportunity to raise funds? "Save the Redwoods" is a charity dedicated to preserving these areas, maybe we want to fundraise for them. Say $20 for each person who shows up? Spitballing here.... 7. Merch -- and before anyone brings it up, we'll look into doing some sort of patch for the attendees. Perhaps this can be tied into number 6. 8. Props -- @MrPoopie and I have discussed bringing up the So Cal Speeder Bike. That means a long drive for us. We can also see what GGG has. 9. Other invitees -- Obviously we will do an all Scout Trooper pic, but I think invitations can go out to any Battle of Endor troopers -- so TKs, AT-ST drivers, etc. Thoughts? Am I missing anything?

Happy 40th Anniversary, Scout Trooper!

Hey folks! I have split this topic so that the planning stuff for our meetup will go here: -
Hey Pathfinders and soon-to-bes This thread will be for planning our meetup in Northern California for the 40th Anniversary. Tentatively planned for June (no exact date set yet). I've asked @iceknyghtand @BigJasoni to lend some of their expertise, as they have been to the area before. I am going to circle in @ShaunPugtoo since he's part of GGG and we will definitely need their guidance.
-
Awesome! Hope to tap your knowledge for this meetup. And @BigJasoni as well
