Absolutely approvable. -
The Pathfinders Detachment does not endorse any propmaker. The vendors listed below have created props that have been used in approved costumes. Ziptied Shoulder Bells: A tutorial
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
It doesn't look like a clear ziptie to me. Looks like a black ziptie with studio lights bouncing off of it The right side looks like the ziptie was taped in and it's ripping out. Again, these were the last shots from the film according to the production schedule. -
The Biker Scout CRL can be found here. Level 2 Requirements are in blue http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Scout_trooper

Ziptied Shoulder Bells: A tutorial
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I'm also not convinced that picture shows two zipties. Every other picture I've seen where you can see a ziptie it is only one. However, this is the blue screen scout and almost every exception to the rules has been found during the speeder bike chase. Why? Because these were the very last things shot for the movie and the Scout costumes were probably held together with bubble gum at this point. -
Advance Recon Team (ART) discussion
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Advance Recon Teams
Of course! The whole point of the ART is to get non-Pathfinders and make them Pathfinders. Think of the ART as an extension of the Detachment. We have hundreds of non-501st members in this Forum. Those people are just as welcome to join an ART -
Don't have an answer for your first question, unfortunately. I've had about 4 bunds at this point because I just get a new one made when I'm unhappy with my current one. You can probably hide most of the length in the chest armor, but it seems like it would pop out from under the belt at some point. But....this won't be an issue if you aren't going for Lancer. Taking in the suit....you could cut the seam down the side with a stitch ripper and then turn it inside out and sew back together. That's not too tough. You could do the arms and legs the same way. And if it's not the neatest job in the world, the armor, vest and bund should help cover up the rough bits! But hey, congrats on the weight loss! Your health is more important than anything.
-
While you are at it, make it shorter too. 8-9 inches is an ideal bund height.
-
I just think the costume should look like the comic book references. But this wouldn't be the first time the 501st created a character for a CRL. Snow scout is pretty much the same thing.
-
So the only actual Black Biker Scout is the toy? When was that released? That doesn't seem to reach the level of "3 sources" that a costume requires to have a CRL made for it. Even the White Kashyyyk has more sources than that!
-
Only the original will do
-
The color seems a bit off too. But the heel definitely needs all those cuts. Seems like a lot of work to make it look right when a pair of $20 hiking boots from Walmart would give you a better starting point. It's really not that tough to do. I bought a hot knife at Michael's and that thing cut through the sole like warm butter
-
Where you post largely depends on what costume you are building. If you are doing a Return of the Jedi Biker Scout, you are going to want to post in the appropriate forums under The Biker Scout Armory. There are some blank forums for the Rebels: Biker Scout Armory, but that's because those were setup yesterday and it's a brand new costume.
-
Are there actual Shadow Scout pics where it is just a black biker scout without any other differences? Because I have never seen one. Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk

Advance Recon Team (ART) discussion
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Advance Recon Teams
Sweet, I will put those changes in. And feel free to add me to the FB group. Kashy and Rebel Scout do not have Level 2 yet! -
Not what it says here, my dude..... http://starwars.wiki.../Storm_commando "The storm commandos, also known as Imperial commandos or shadow scouts, were the Special forces of the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps. One task for storm commandos was to instigate uprisings on enemy systems or to subdue insurrections on Imperial-held worlds. They also served as second-wave attackers in the battlefield, tasked with holding territory won by the first wave." I've never seen a picture from the EU that just shows a Biker Scout colored black without other changes to the armor and boots as well. But if you have one, let's see it!

The current CRL can be found at this link: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_scout_trooper_-_sw_rebels

Pouch and under the chest are the two most popular places to put the speaker. If you just reinforce your bund and pouches with velcro, it should hold pretty well
-
That is correct! Most of Spec Ops' costumes are from the Expanded Universe, so comics, books and video games. The Storm Commando isn't exactly just a biker scout colored black but that's what their CRL calls for.
-
We await your app!

You would have to check Spec Ops to be sure. I know the vest is not a requirement http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=18962
