  1. Riding patches Here's the shape for my riding patches. I did not make this suit. My patches go up the front quite a bit, up and over the bottom zipper. The distance from the seam of the crotch to the bottom of the patch is 9.5 inches. Your mileage may vary. These patches end about 2-3 inches above my knee armor. The riding patches were done in 4 parts, with a front and back for each side. As far as I know, this is how it was done in the film. This picture shows a good view of the front left patch (on the bottom of the pic). The best way to sew these on is to open the outside seam of the leg and lay the leg flat. Pin your suede patch into position and sew with a leather needle. When you've done both patches and the thigh straps, you can sew the leg up and take in any bagginess in the undersuit legs. This pic shows the left rear patch. The thigh straps should "point" at the crotch of the suit. As you can see here, the strap is about one foot above the knee
  2. Just to get some of this stuff into one thread, here is a few tips and tricks for doing the undersuit mods, particularly if you have a Red Kap, but this should work for most suits! Open Collar I've removed the Mandarin collar how-to, since we are moving away from that. For how to wear the Open Collar -- please watch this:
  3. What I do is cut off one of the butt pockets to use as material to create the mandarin collar flap. You flip the collar up, then use the material from the pocket to bridge the gap in the front of your neck. I can post some pics later!
  4. I'm measuring to just before my knee starts. But really.... you don't have to get that crazy about it. Just don't make it too long and dont make it too short.
  5. It's tough to nail down because knee armor slides around so much while you are wearing it. I'd say when you are measuring, have the riding patch stop above your actual knee. So for me, measuring from the seam of the crotch to above my knee, that would be 12 inches. Your mileage may vary. The CRL pic was modeled after the Costumes book Scout: Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk

  7. If you have any specific questions, post 'em up and we'll answer the best we can!
  8. There are a few threads in this forum that show bits and pieces of it, but not one that shows the whole thing from beginning to end. But this is something I plan to remedy This one has some good pics and tidbits in it: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=18483
  9. Welcome! Your input is really appreciated.
  10. Thanks for the edits, guys! I will incorporate them. Just FYI, a lot of this is filler language I took from other CRLs, so some of it won't be accurate. But I think it's a lot easier to revise pre-existing language than it is to try to write something from scratch.
  11. Change has been made, thanks!
  12. Any white gloss paint should do. In the film, the buckets were painted Ferrari white but the armor wasn't painted. Just raw ABS. But as was said above, the weathering hides a lot.
  13. Yeah that pattern is incorrect based on newer measurements. A lot of people have used it in the past, which is why we have so many Scouts with pouches that are too large. Try the 6x5x2 size instead. I think you'll see it's a better result
  14. Big thing that jumps out at me is that the pouches are too big, and because of that your bund is very long and your belt sits low. check this thread out http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=19200 Ken touched on this above, but I wanted to repeat it because I think that is your top issue. Everything else looks pretty good with some adjustment. Once you get proper sized pouches, I think you'll find your stuff lining up better with the CRL model
  15. I think the real question is "who doesn't?" And as far as I know it's just SC that doesn't. They use a sticker instead. But if you are going for Lancer you need the earholes cut out.
  16. Awesome! Thanks for this
  17. Yeah I was looking at another picture today and I agree! Either covered with vinyl or just painted white.
  18. It'll be nice to go somewhere new for a change. I'm looking forward to it.
  19. Vanguard applications go in this link: http://forum.bikersc...p?showforum=160 There are only two others so far, so you can check their applications to know what you need!
  20. April 11-15th, 2019 CHICAGO!!!! McCormick Place, Chicago, IL
  21. Nice job! And this is absolutely in the right place. Thanks for sharing!
  22. Not a problem, I get that it's confusing. Think of this as an "outsourced" merch run. the Detachment didn't have the capability to do an ongoing run so we had to find someone who could.
  23. I don't see anything there to hold up Basic approval, although it looks like your TD came off the belt in that 2nd pic.
  24. The Detachment provided Andrew with the designs from which to make the shirts and obtained the authorization from the Legion, but the logistics of the run are being handled by him. Which is why the run is on the Legion merch forum and not here. Any questions have to be directed to Andrew. happyvalleycustom@gmail.com
  25. That is correct. We are going to evaluate the situation once the current orders have all been handled and decide whether to continue this or take a new approach
