  1. Just offhand I'd say your pouches are too big and the codpiece is much too narrow. You want to go 6x5 on the pouches. The codpiece and pouch dimensions should look more like this: Your armor set up looks fine, though I'd say the KS chest piece is probably a little too big for you. Nothing that would hold up approval though. Do you have a pic of the back?
  2. imgur is good. I've been using posting.org and dropbox.
  3. From what I can tell looking at both screenshots and Gino's scout, the strip is just a piece of elastic, about 1/2 inch in width. And it's not a loop. It just covers the top and edges. But for now the CRL calls for white cotton webbing so just do that. Folks should have plenty left over after doing the drop boxes and chest straps!
  4. I used buckram in my codpiece instead of foam. But I suppose any fabric stabilizer will do. It's like the material found in hat brims and is allegedly what was used in the film. But overall it looks like the codpiece is pulling too tight. This is something I see often. The codpieces were very loose in the film. I would make the cod strap longer so it doesn't pull so tight.
  5. Yes, for the most part, folks do a cover roughly in the shape of a square. So 1.5 x 1.5. But an exact measurement is not specified in the CRL. Honestly, the strip in the film looks only a half inch wide, but I'll cross that bridge some other time
  6. Check with your Garrison on whether any alternate rifles can be used. If they say stick to the CRL then only the ones that are listed can be used.
  7. Like Stasz said, we used t-straps in the past because we didn't have complete info on the Scout and just assumed whatever the TK used, the TB did as well. Turns out there are quite a few differences. You can get a view of how I did mine in this thread http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=18015&st=20 But a t-strap is totally fine for approval. My issue is that your white bridge is much too long. It should be about half that length
  8. Hey buddy, this is where the fun begins. The most thorough thread on the SC kit was done a few years ago by Terry "Pandatrooper": http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9781 This is pretty much a step-by-step how-to. There may be some slight variations though, as SC has made some minor changes in their kit since this was first put up (ie, a one piece belt as opposed to three). But the main idea is there. The kit from SC is pretty much a "scout in a box". Almost everything you need is in the kit as well as detailed instructions. Plus there is very little, if any, trimming to do. You'll be fine! Just go slow. You'll be very happy with your Altmann lid, not much to do there. It may help to reach out to folks in your Garrison and see if you have any local Scouts to help! Good luck, we are here for you.
  9. Scout Team Six had a gathering at Long Beach Comic Expo this past Saturday. Here's the official con photo
  10. Unfortunately the balaclava is not optional, even for a basic scout. Maybe you can take some supplemental photos showing that you have it and work it out with your Garrison. But that really depends on your GML. I would get in touch with them first and see if they want you to do anything different.
  11. Velcro is a life saver! Well done
  12. That is completely sufficient. I got the 12.99 bin from Target. https://www.target.com/p/sterilite-174-108-qt-industrial-utility-storage-tote-black-with-red-latch/-/A-15066067#lnk=sametab No wheels, but the Scout is so lightweight that I usually just carry it. Which is helpful when troopers get tied up on an escalator! I bought a separate dolly for the rare times when I actually need wheels. Yours looks great though!
  13. KS and WTF also have larger size armor. But to be honest, SC is one of the bigger ones. It may help to post up a pic so we can see what you mean. Maybe we can give you some pointers on adjusting it
  14. You don't need to overdo it like I did. Like the guys said, tab of Velcro is fine. I wanted to make mine adjustable so i used parachute clips. The screen scouts had straps that connected to a slider attached to the vest Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  15. Mine is attached to the bottom of my vest, like so:
  16. Hey buddy! You posted up in the wrong forum for helmets. And I answered you in that thread. Not sure what you mean by 3D plans. if you are talking Scout armor, there doesn't really exist a good set right now
  17. PM Spike. He is the man behind Altmann! http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showuser=78390
  18. Silicone! Literally just grabbed what was under my sink. Worked well too. No one has said a peep since i patched it up. Which beats "hey man, your belt is cracked!" any day... Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  19. My SC belt was very flexible, but that was also back when they were 3 pieces. I wish I had heated my Strider belt. I ended up cracking it. But I filled the crack with caulk and its all good. Weathering, man Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  20. To Chopper listen. Cucblack had some issues here a few years back with shipping and was banned from the boards. He has since taken to Etsy/Ebay. However his stuff is top notch and he has supposedly cleaned up his shipping act. but like Chopper said, ask for Fed Ex!
  21. I use this place for free hosting of photos, if that helps! https://postimages.org/
  22. Yes! Thigh boxes on the film scouts are tiny. Not sure why so many armor makers get this wrong Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  23. I had a thread about modding them but most of my pics got lost when photobucket went to a pay system. There's not much to it. Dye the suede black. I used Fiebings black dye. Use a razor blade to CAREFULLY remove the zipper and the strap. Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
