Indeed no stripes on the holster. Why do you want to make new boots? You could paint the soles a solid color with acrylic paint and carv the heel. I also submitted my photos with suspenders showing and got gigged for it. They should be out of sight under the vest. Their color is irrelevant. The cod piece seems a little narrow to me but that could be because the belt may be low.

Those sole cuts look nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I had the same thing happened with my CB helmet. I took a Dremel and ground out the cracks. I had two separate spiderweb cracks. I filled with Bondo then glazing putty. Wet sanding between coats. I of course had to repaint that area. I also got a fiberglass kit from Walmart and reinforced the top inside of the helmet, which was flexing, with two layers of fiberglass cloth. It was my first helmet repair and was very easy. I posted pictures about a year ago in the helmet thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sewing Detail on the 'Bone' strap.

I have found that it is easier for me to use both hands in front of the machine to guide the material and move super slow. I drew very dark pen lines on the back of the bone. So where I was off a little nobody really knows. -

Thank you Marcel -
Thank you! Bikerscout.net is a great resource. Everything you need to know to build a scout is right here. This is my first build and I appreciate all of the help and advice that I have received over the past year.

I like the size of the CB helmet. I think it's proportioned more accurately than other helmets.
-
Ditto with the 1 inch foam and Velcro for me.

Check this thread out. It's SC armor but should build the same. This is a comprehensive guide for Armor. http://forum.bikersc...?showtopic=9781 I'm fairly new but require help with the vest.

Don't go too far towards the midline on the heel like I did. There is not much there. I had to make a repair with shoe goo. -

The lines look good. I used these boots and wish that I would have replaced the shoe laces. They are kinda large . I would recommend thinner laces or string. -
This looks like it could be a rear sight of a handgun. Here is a pic of a more modern rear sight.

Your right. They are in the pic. Also as good as everything looks so far I'm confident that you could make your own vest. It's easier than it looks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks good brother. Your belt looks cleaner than mine. I'm not sure those rivets on the belt are in the right place though. Supposed to only be one on each end.

Thank you for the feedback Mark. I'm glad you sorted me out on the bicep and forearm armor. I haven't heard clear definition on where they should rest. They always struck me as a two piece elbow pad rather than forearm and bicep. I have velcro on there. They will rotate around no problem. I'm having fits with those front pouches. They are lined up at the top but I just can't get them to stay lined up with the ribs.

I took some photos outside today. The helmet color is less obvious.

Thanks John. I used 3M automotive trim tape. You can curve it and still get a straight paint line. It's expensive but worth it.
-
I glued mine too. I had a hard time getting pins through old motorcycle chaps.

Another thread said to google a Ragland shirt tutorial. That's what I did two days ago. To sum that up I cut the sleeves off of a t shirt from armpit to 2 inches from the neck. Copied the sleeve shape onto the fabric from the belly area and sandwiched batting between the sleeves. Sewed ribs then reattached. I didn't use a template.

Yeah the helmet is fiberglass. The lighting in these photos really exaggerates that. I plan to weather it down the road.
