  1. I just sprayed my first coat of paint onto my fiberglass helmet, when I noticed a small spiderweb like crack. After I sand this down, if I need to build it back up can I use automotive "Bondo" on fiberglass?
  2. Wow that's fast! Mine has been "shipped" longer than that.
  3. Wow that looks kick ass. How long did it take to receive?
  4. Cool thanks Andy.
  5. Yeah it is taped in place upside down. If I put I right side up then the outline of laces can be seen. So my options are: 1. Show outline of laces 2. Upsidedown dogbone flap. 3. New base boots. Was wondering if 1 or 2 affects basic or Lancer clearance.
  6. Thx. There are no hems in the boot so ya it's over my knees right now
  7. I would probably avoid these boots if you have other options. I'm not completely satisfied with how mine turned out.
  8. I may have bought a poor pair of base boots. The first pic is a wacky dog bone that covered the laces. The bottom is an exact template from the boot tutorial that I had to place upside down. At least I haven't glued all of the vinyl yet. I would be interested in more feedback before I order different boots. Thx
  9. How about now?
  10. How does this look?
  11. Thanks. Mine is unfinished, I hope it turns out ok. Your suit looks good.
  12. Yeah super cheap price as far as boots go. I hope to get my suit this week then I will finish one of the boots and post a pic.
  13. I have the same helmet on order. Did you paint your helmet or did CB?
  14. Thanks. Lancer? I hope to get there. My entire build is still in progress. The way I understand Lancer boots is the carved heel and overall fit of the boot without too many wrinkles. If they don't make lancer I may go with a different boot later. For $19 I thought they were worth a chance.
  15. Ok the last one may show. I should have changed the laces to thinner ones. The dog bone flap is an exact template from the boot tutorial. His boots are size 10. Mine are size 12. I may try a bigger flap once I get the ankles made.
  16. I think so. That last one will be close. The plain toe area is not as large as other boots but I think the Dogbone will make it work.
  17. I just received a pair of these. Would be nice to hear from the experts. Mine are in progress at this time. The soles are solid rubber and easy to carve with a flat square razor. Since these pics were taken I removed the metal hooks at the top.
  18. I know the anxious feeling. My helmet and soft goods have shipped from CB. Knowing that they shipped has made it worse.
  19. Yeah that sounds like a lot. I did my straps to Lancer because I don't like doing things twice. Although I have done a lot of things twice on this project. I'm working on my boots now and have yet to strap my bicept armor.
  20. the suspenders were for lancer spec bicept elastic. Also the 2 inch elastic on the side has been changed to 45mm or 1.75 inches.
  21. The knee requires a 1 inch and another .5 inch riveted on the top. 1" for the firearms as well The SC kit and instructions are great! Some of those details were outdated though. I had to buy more 1 inch elastic and a pair of suspenders from ebay for the upper arm elastic. The were .99 on ebay.
  22. I cancelled my order since they still have not arrived. I bought and received these on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/321279581812?var=510202076476&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649. Turns out I was buying from Kmart. The soles are darker than in the picture which look about right to me. Solid rubber and easy to carve with a razor.
  23. Is there an updated Lancer CRL somewhere? The one posted at http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Scout_trooper seems to be outdated.
  24. So have you finished your helmet?
