  1. This sounds interesting. I think I know where this is going but I requested to join ST6 Mickey to kinda observ. If that's cool? This seems like a great idea for a new person to have easy access to a local point of contact. I was fortunate to have someone local reach out to me but others may not have that experience. Is there a limit on membership numbers at this time? I think Bloodfin only has two active scouts but thought I would ask.
  2. I used this kit to repair a 100% crack on my boot holster.
  3. I'm going to have to hit Gabe up for a vest. I'm one of the customers that is still waiting on items from Cucblack AKA " the guy in Etsy". I made mine out of a tee shirt a year ago but it has stretched out and is almost out of regulation.
  4. Congrats. That's a great looking Scout!
  5. Here is what I used with a thick Hanes tee shirt. It's still holding up. I traced the sleeves onto the lower half of the shirt to sandwich the batting. The sleeves stretch so make them snug. I have had to go back and run a second hem with the sleeves inside out. http://whatthecraft.com/raglan-sleeve-baseball-style-top-photo-tutorial/
  6. These are the screen accurate ones. I purchased mine from him. Had to use email to reach him. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10270&hl=kwdesigns&st=0
  7. I took" lens disks" to mean the rings inside the back of the scope. It doesn't say "LENS cut into the scope." This is not the best pic but you can see the rings. This is a DVH B grade blaster that was approved Lancer. I also have a Hyperfirm that has the same rings/disks... Thingys. Idk
  8. Congrats and welcome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yes. With the boots and side elastic on, it can make the thighs look baggy.
  10. It's probably not proper sewing but I took mine in on the outside. By doing it this way I didn't have to remove the pocket.
  11. Wow!!! Very nice. A Velcro patch is an easy way to keep those forearms from sliding into your gloves and your biceps from rotating. Again, very nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. mine were baggy enough that I hemmed the outside leg to conceal that side pocket. Remember that your knee armor will have Velcro around your knee. That makes your pants look baggy so you will probably need to do the same. The straight stitch was easier than removing a pocket.
  13. Same for me. I leave it open and my vest covers it.
  14. Thanks for the tips everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Here it is after three layers of glass. It's not really noticeable from a few feet away. Before adding fiberglass I stuck the plastic together by wetting the edges with acetone.
  16. Excellent ideas! Thank you. I just happen to have some fiberglass Matt and resin leftover from a helmet repair. Unfortunately I do not have the missing pieces. I do have some scrap ABS.
  17. Has anyone solved this problem without buying a new holster. I'm thinking E6000 but want to solicit ideas from our experts first 😉
  18. This is a good pic but keep in mind that this is on a mannequin. Check out these 3 dudes. The one you can see the patch best on the third one over. You can see how high the strap is on the first one. Also note the height of the side boxes. You will pull your hair out later trying to adjust those 😉
  19. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=13065&st=0&p=114821&hl=+riding%20+patch&fromsearch=1entry114821 Click here then scroll down for a template of the riding patch. I'm 5' 10". For me The top of the 2 inch Velcro should be 2 inches down from the crotch. The patch length should be 75% of the length between the crotch and the knee. The template is nice but far too narrow. I printed two and taped them together because the length is perfect. Here is a pic of the templates that I used.
  20. To remove a rivet use the same size drill bit that you used to make the hole and drill it out. You can replace with a new rivet. No damage to the material.
  21. Congrats brother!
  22. So far they look great! If the rest of the boots turn out that well then Lancer won't be an issue for you. I have only made one pair of these but I would suggest cutting the sole before you finish. There is a possibility of errors when using a knife. I would hate for you to slice your beautiful vinyl after it is glued on. When cutting your heel draw the lines on with a pencil before you cut. There is no specific distance. I lined my cuts to go over the pre existing shorter cuts. Drawing first will let you see how they will look.
  23. Wow! That sounds awesome.
