  1. Justin its not embarrassing, just glad you asked the guys. My partner riveted mine in, with a washer and backing. I would of been clueless, its a learning process.
  2. Hi Sgr99, We can all only speculate, so Pictures speak a thousands words. IF your having troubles posting photos let us know. You have our interest and help.
  3. Hi ya Andy and Welcome.
  4. Its a nice beautiful BROWN BOX...we love those Congrats Digger ...Now you have the awesome fun of building! ..mind you I do like building.
  5. Looking good John
  6. Thank you Jeff, SC are pretty Awesome. Andrew remember try the Hot water again. Hold it with some togs don't let it touch the seal on the bottom of the pot. Just dip it in. Use the Tea towel to hold and mould once out. Tony should be able to help you. Talk to ya soon.
  7. Hi ya John, you can't go wrong with that armour. Post as many pics as you can while you build. Remember there never is a dumb question only the one you didn't ask.
  8. Morton, Nothing wrong with hand sewing, I tend to hand so quite a bit when its too fiddly for the sewing machine. Your doing a good job. Pig skin is easy to sew as well, just need a little muscle to get the needle through.
  9. Congratulations Paul
  10. Understand fully Kyle, just get yourself out there and you can always redo them later if they drive ya nuts. Love your build, your doing a fantastic job. May have to look at redoing a few bits of my armour!
  11. I love a good pattern. Looking good.
  12. Max ..Nice!!! Don't be overwhelmed, enjoy your build. We are here to help as well. Mind you the first photo you look like a ninja ..lol
  13. Hi ya Kyle, Loving your build thread, fantastic job! Your boots were doing my head in and I didn't know why, your "dog Bones" as you call them are little too forward. This happened to a pair I was building and had to pull the dam things apart. Your boot looks like its small at the front. You may need to move the DB a good inch back, see were the front tip ends just before the groves start at the toe end of the shoe. Hope that makes sense. Here are a pair from the movie showing you the position of the "Dog Bone" .
  14. Congrats Sebastien
  15. Congrats Ricky!
  16. HI ya Morten, Chef hit the nail on the head, you'll save money owning a sewing machine, cheap new one will be all you need, even looking up second hand ones in your area. It will take the stress out of how your going to do fix it. Also interesting is the "World wide web" (channeling transformers) use it.....youtube is good, if your not sure what to use or how to use it, google it! There are so many how to do or step by step sewing tutorials. Your Garrison members will be able to help and you have us!
  17. Hello Andrew good to see you here and Welcome!
  18. HI ya Mike, We know that as Pig skin here, I work with it quite a bit, when sewing make sure you use a Leather needle, pig skin will tear easy once started its not like cow leather very different. Looks good. With your little misshape just had sewn it, black on black no one is going to see it.
  19. Hi ya Cole, Your flap is too long it shouldn't over lap the boot. Here is a photo Please note you only glue the sides of the flap, you can notice it more in the photo. I agree the texture should be ok. Vinyl does come in different textures from other countries. Your doing a good job. Always when in doubt Cole just take a peak at the photos from the movie
  20. Hi ya John, How I do it is pining that sucker down with lots of pins if your using fabric iron the lip down first, don't pull as you go. Keep measuring, go slow don't speed. You will have a very small opening while you sew your fabric give yourself plenty of space to pull and push it around, feel around to make sure you don't sew the other leg at the same time. Really the trick is take your time and check. Another hint there is a fabric pen you can draw the outline so it wont go off course, the pen can be ironed off. If they are quite baggy go with Mickeys idea. I have done over 10 of the suckers and about to do another one, not my favourite part. I have heard of fabric contact you can iron on to both sides and it will stick it down, then you can sew without the dam thing moving. I haven't tried that technic my Daughter users quite a bit, making cosplays. Good luck!
  21. Hello Jaunma and Welcome. There are a couple of vendors here, you may want to read members build threads to get an idea on which one you want. I do have 2 Studio Creations kits and found them to be excellent to deal with, also an easy kit to build. I own though don't wear a KS Helmet, many have said its a larger one for bigger noggin. The Studio Creations Helmet l really love. They do offer it kit form or pre-built by them.
  22. See how you go bringing it forward. You never know it might fix it. Good luck
  23. Aaron oh sorry I meant the mannequin on the display with the original movie costume. Just noticed a little more, your code piece were does it sit? Mine is a two piece as well, and my code piece goes up the middle behind the bun. Are you able to stick the bun down with the code piece so it doesnt flare up. In the movie you can see the code piece so no black showing This is my first one, made a few more since then...though it should give you the idea
