  1. Hi ya Eric, you did a awesome job. Nicely shaped at that front too. I just read your ok if for you not 501st, glad you like our forum. Though this tip helps, next time you build your boots you don't need to glue the complete crossover piece to the front of your boot, just the sides, this helps in movement and less wear and tear. Your Zipper is a good idea, though I love my Velcro it's worked well for 5 years and counting, mind you I gotta ask how do you go pulling it up from the bottom back? If you come up with some great idea's please share!! love to work out easier was to make things

    What a year!

Thank you Chex for all your work and to the Pathfinders Staff, your all pretty awesome. Looking forward to another in Pathfinders
  3. Just poop before ya troop! guys Your all lucky your not Female, having a 2 piece is more of a must, we can't pee before we troop ...well we can its just sometimes we need to pee again, and maybe one more just in case..its a chick thing! .......
  4. Hi Kyle, I've just finished making my Daughters Scout she has a SC and is around the 5'3. Its a good kit for any size.
  5. Thanks for the photo..its not the kit I thought, which is a good thing for you. Yes it might be covered and it might not but its in the movie and its worth while to change it just in case here is a photo a Scout from the movie, you can see the bottom of his cummberbun. Also on this forum there are a few photos of the back of the Scout on a bike clearly showing no Seam.
  6. Hi John your in Redback territory? Check on their forum you may have a maker that can supply in Australia. It just works out cheaper in postage at least. good luck!
  7. Jared hi, Is there anyone in New York that could give you a hand, I have a fair idea which kit you may have and you will need to do some cleaning up, or even replacing. Could you also show us the detonator that clips on the belt, that will confirm which one it is. You may need to redo your cummberbund, there are no seams running up and down the cod piece and along the bottom of the bun. Though you did a good job for your first effort. Here is a photo of my third cummberbun to give you an idea.
  8. Your Buckram is different to mine. I cannot iron mine though it is quite strong. I'm going to do one with foam see how it turns out I do love your finish on the bottom of your cod piece. I also didn't pad the attachment of cod piece all the way up, being a lady I didn't want any extra padding so I stopped the padding half an inch into the cummberbun. See if you can do the same or it might make the belly stick out. ( I don't want to post picks this is your thread so PM me) Loving your work. Though I did get another Buckram from a different store wasn't that strong though I thing I could iron it. I think Buckram comes in different mediums.
  9. Outstanding .....I'm so glad you placed the velcro on the top. I changed the size of the Velcro to one inch and not two, on the top. The thickness you could see. With Buckram a little hint make sure you curve your edgers other wise it will cut through your fabric. My first one I noticed the sharpness of the edge, so after that I curved them. I didn't use foam, I used padding.. Let me know how you with the foam, I do like the sound of it. Love this thread...though would love to know how you finished off your black elastic to your cod piece, looks very neat. I hand sewn mine, though I like yours.
  10. Awesome! Your photo looks really cool!
  11. Dan, I fold my pants into my socks..(long socks) so they don't ride up! forgot to tell you.
  12. I noticed that too Marcel
  13. Thanks Guys!
  14. Hi ya Guys and Girls, I have a trooper waiting for approval, and was told his flak vest sleeves are too long, he is short lad. Unsure I looked at others on the forum and I couldn't see much difference. So you could you give me a hand tell me how much this sleeves need to be taken up. Please note in the photo his right bell is stuck on up.. so go by his left sleeve Cheers ..and thank you for looking ps yeah we know about the strips on the boots
  15. Hi ya Christopher and Welcome!
  16. (cheesy Grin)
  17. Pandatroopers Build thread is pretty cool He shows you his pockets http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9781&st=120
  18. Ah yes the tapered at the bottom is around 2 inches it was mine so I wasn't perfect on the end bit. I do remember the size changed for smaller to the larger scout..I think the elastic is what i had, that is 1.5 inches. I read the elastic is to be 2 inches how wide is your tapered end?
  19. Found the photo! ...just look at the cod piece, the pockets I need to fix...and my lines are straight, just wasnt sitting ok. I have to also get the belt right, its my first troop in the new cummberbund. I had been walking around and bending so it holds up!
  20. My Third Attempt! I did how ever unpick my first and used the wrap of the cummberbund ( so that part could be better) and did some handy hand sewing. I made it so the the cod piece attached by Velcro on the "top" of the bun. The cod piece has "Buckram" in side it as well as the padding. I trooped today in it, I LOVE IT...It turned out better than I thought, I have to do a couple of twigs but it works no camel two. Thank you to Strider, I used your Cummberbund as my refer to I only have the photo of it finished, I will post up photos of the troop to show you. The back looks a little added on, the thought of Velcro to the top came later. if made again I would cut a long piece.
  21. Strider, I get it! I can see what you mean, bringing it in a little. My first attempt I'm going to try and unpick and play with that one. btw i used a stiffener called "Buckram" it will and should cancel out the camel toe. Chef I agree I can see what your talking about cummberbund sitting on top of the belt , Flak vest never thought of that.mmm let me have a play with that. After I've finished helping these lads. My problem is my kit its old and I don't have the funds to replace it anytime soon, and being a little one that i am, my chest piece is big so it sits quite low compared to where it should be, then the belt pockets and cummberbund would look correct. I have to just do a little adjusting. So now new pockets made smaller. Oh what fun. Once I've tapered a little more I will post. Me and my bright ideas....lol
  22. Evening Gentlemen, Next week I will making two new members theirs, in asking would the new cummberbund be approvable? I don't wish to make these for the lads and find out later there is a tiny hitch.
  23. It took me two goes but I have made another Cummberbund, similar to the Scout Model from the movie. I did use Buckram, its fairly thick. I have a troop this Saturday so I will be testing it out. Now that the belt sits around the waist and not on hips, my pockets sit too low, so I know have to make smaller ones so they wont cover the belt. I do feel a tad weird wearing the new one. So see how I go. I have place my old and the new to show the difference. Not my best look, I have a few twigs to work out.
  24. I have about 3 cummberbuns to build for cadets here and making me a new one, I'm going to use your pattern. Also a friend suggested "Buckram" to place in the crutch so no camel toe, I will let you know who I go. Just a little mention, a Cadet (Here in Australia) brought a Cummberbun from the UK, the gentleman said his was Lancer approved. The shock of seeing it was be on belief. The Crutch was a 1/4 of the size and the length of the bun you would of seen it up past his chest plate. I don't know who this person is, but advertising as a Lancer approved product, no padding around the back, the 5 panels where larger than the cod piece by two inches.... the poor lad was green. And just flushed his money down the toilet. I hope no one else gets caught. I just noticed its the one on EBAY.
  25. I'm the same, scored a motor cross one. I sewed some patches on it and now its a 501st biker Helmet bag..was around $19 Aussie dollars. I did make a home made lining to give it an extra padding...
