  1. Dont you just love ebay....Sumkio compared to my size your huge...lol.. I dont blame you its not easy trying to find size
  2. Marcel....whoops my bad..a tad ahead of myself... Ah got ya Jeremy Sara! the exact same thing happened to me, I too used the pattern cut it out added extra for the seam, and they where too small, I was lucky enough not to sew them on, after I ironed the fold and pinned them to the pants, they just didnt look right, so I used the small ones as my starting point to trace another set making them Larger and it worked.
  3. I was one of those Approved without the suede and mud flap, but since the new CRL was updated and my son armoured up as a scout being approved with the Mud flap and Suede, When making his I redid mine. Also helped another Squad member upgrade theirs. If a member can add these upgrades it would help them looking less par compared to their fellow Squad members adding a more uniform. Sometimes you may find, a little help from Squad members could be the go. Simon do you have photos of the work she has done, everything is fixable, unpicking and just readjusting if there is a problem
  4. Hi ya Matt and Welcome... Boots you would make them yourself, I have made two pairs they are pretty easy, there are tutorials in this forum....somewhere.
  5. Hey Joe your using a Weapon! Nice photos!
  6. Merry Christmas to you all....
  7. Hi ya Chris and Welcome....good luck!
  8. Good to hear cucblack....your soft parts are top quality . .fantastic work.
  9. I was going to mention this on another thread where I saw someone was making and selling the Cummberbun and pouches, the photo in this thread confirms what I'm about to recommend . There is no double seams on the outside of the pouches or the cummberbun bottom edging even in this photo you have double sewn the bottom no need to, once sewn and pulled inside out is enough. Otherwise they look really good! BTW never go by a mannequin that has been dressed on where Armor sits, I've seen too many mistakes made. go by how it is made and so forth, but take it with a pinch of salt, I think we have seen quite a few displays of the original costumes displayed wrong in exhibitions
  10. Great Idea! , I did use a t-shirt as my pattern but never used it .
  11. Nice and Congrats!!!!!
  12. I'm 4'11 size person......pretty much small all around, I Brought long ago a kit that isn't as exact as the three above and what I brought could fit a good size bloke. I found it to be in the trimming, and moulding to your body, being soo small I made my own slits in the arms, cut a huge amount off each piece. Before I did all this I had our local GML over I had the luxury of doing so, he marked on each piece the closet I could cut before it became none approval. The only thing I couldn't trim down where my drop boxes they are huge! one day I hope to replace them. My achievement was a complement from a tall fellow female member, she said she was quite worried I would look like a small person trying to pull off a scout armor she said she was pleasantly surprised, I looked like a scout. That was the best compliment I could ever ask for, what may look good on a taller scout doesnt mean it will look good on a smaller one. Which ever kit you do get make if fit you I do have KS helmet...I wasn't happy with it and passed it on to my son, I brought a SC helmet and love it. Good luck with your build and I'm not far if you need any tips
  13. Rachel...... My eldest Daughter has now brought a SC kit ......She is 22. So we are back to building another (I have too many kids) Every time I would shoot the guys from SC an email, they'd replied promptly and very eager to give me a hand. BTW she too is 5'4" or 5'3" one of my girls is either size ......
  14. Velcro dude Velcro btw what Lou said ....sticky on the rough ...sew on the smooth... been troopin God how many years? and still going strong
  15. Josh need full body shot too.....are you a tall bloke? as one bucket is smaller than other, I have two and wear the smaller as I am quite small I have a KS its big but can't wear my glass's ..weird
  16. eddy looking good......just a couple of things your front chest piece needs to be brought down and even with our back plate.... this will stop the cummberbun from showing and it wont look that tad small, ( know you going to use studs) brings your neck line down its too high up. Your cummberbun pockets are a little high they need to be resting on the belt
  17. Barron...Even an old lady like me can build a SC armor "for her 18 year old son". The guys are outstanding to deal with.
  18. I have a Janome sewing machine its as old as my marriage and thats around 25 years, good brand also. I just brought a new overlocker Janome, I found on Ebay great deal. Your better comparing the prices on ebay Any "good" sewing machine will do Leather (need a different Needle) and other thickness's, some will price by the number of stitches it can create. If you buy one under $200 it will be worth only $200, Paying a little more will handle and last the test of time. I'm with Chef....the oldies are the best they don't make them like they used too, I was going to replace my old one but the shop owner told me, I have a good machine unless its dead dont replace it. Howard you dont need the fancy stitches, and a couple brands here we all like. So hopfully thats a start for you.
  19. Hi ya Michael ....hey can understand the excitement of the first parcel... wishing you luck when the building starts!
  20. Dustin Welcome ...I'm just under the 5 foot mark, it does take a little work and the SC is an outstanding kit. My daughter is 5'2 as well and has just purchased one. Good luck Oh the fun and games....my third scout build.
  21. Chef is correct, there are needles used for Leather I worked with leather on Boushh. Please note with leather once a whole is made it will be quite noticeable compared to fabric. And no need to hand sew, iron the sides in if fabric pin then use sewing machine and if leather just sew it on, it will look neater and take less than half the time now in saying that one hopes you have a sewing machine. Otherwise refer back to stage one!
  22. Scott Well done...Pretty good for a first timer!!! Oh a hint but I cannot see it....the black elastic attached to the toe, before I sealed the toe I place the elastic...its just less seams and good seal. but it doesn't matter no one is going to see it any way.
  23. If the add on is the size of velcro, just unpicking and adding will be hidden by the new Velcro...fingers Crossed Jonathan.
