  1. @BikerScout98 Can't say Scot, as I picked up the zipped version of the stunt because I was using it with the JFO Scout. That was pre-CRL change for the ROTJ Scout, otherwise I would have snagged the hook and loop version so I could use it for both. I would message DP on their Etsy page to confirm the width of the hook and loop they use. It's a good product, and to be fair to DP, if you look at their item description, they do recommend the Premium Version over their Stunt Version for similar reasons to what I noted above.
  2. For the record, anyone considering going with DP on Etsy, spend the extra 16 bucks and get the premium version. That’s the version pictured in their photos on the site. I was disappointed in their Stunt version. I found the bib portion to be way undersized by comparison, and it didn’t really lay nicely over the shoulders as the premium version pictured because of the way the bib was cut and designed. I ended up redoing the bib wishing I had forked up the extra $ for the premium version.
  3. Arne, for your bund, do you just have hook and loop on the front of the bund and attach it to the chest armor, or do you also have it on the back of the bund and attach it to the flak vest? I have both and my bund goes no where. I also have hook and loop to attach the back of the bund to the back of the flak vest as well. I used 2” hook and loop.
  4. If you’re looking for how various vendor’s armor stacks up against the original used in the film, then check out the Ultimate Armor Comparison thread here: Http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/17774-the-ultimate-armor-comparison-thread/ RS Propmasters is currently the most accurate because they have claim to screen used armor and market their armor as screen lineage, but that distinction comes at a premium. There are other vendors that come pretty darn close and make great armor. You can’t go wrong with any of the approved vendors. It all depends on what your goals and budget are. Feel free to ask us any questions. We’re here to help you succeed!
  5. I have the same one as Mickey. But this might work for you in the UK https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B08M99Q3FH/ref=sspa_mw_detail_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9kZXRhaWwp13NParams
  6. Hey Ryan, take a look at the following thread. It’ll give you some ideas on how to keep things nice a tight while trooping and may help you decide on the best places to place hook and loop. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/w18894-some-tips-for-keeping-your-scout-costume-together-while-trooping/ For your shoulder bells, do you have the elastic band attached to the bells that wraps around the upper arm per the CRL? I can’t tell from the photos. It’s tough to see black on black. You want that strap to be a snug fit. If it’s a loose fit it will allow the bell to shift too much. Generally speaking, that elastic band should be enough to keep your bells in place. The hook and loop is probably preventing you from properly aligning your bells when you suit up. You might want to consider removing the loop from the shoulder bell and seeing how it feels without it. You’ll likely have better range of motion with your arms. Between the elastic strap and adjusting the zip ties you should be able to dial in the fit so that they sit where you desire.
  7. Awesome Nick! Looking forward to seeing those photos of you all suited up. The armory team will be happy to give you some feedback once you post your photos. Be sure to hit us up with any question you may have in the meantime. We're happy to help.
  8. Really nice work and a very different approach to what’s been done before. It looks great.
  9. Congrats Melody! Well done and welcome to the ranks!
  10. Good choice with RS! I have RS myself and I know you’ll be pleased. Lancer’s a great goal, but keep in mind that Lancer is as much about how everything fits you, as it is about meeting the specs in the CRL. So, you’ll likely need to make adjustments to anything you purchase because not everything is built to lancer specs. Don’t stress yourself in the process. There’s a lot of fun to be had in building your Scout, that can easily get lost when stressing about details. We’re here to help get you across the finish line, so feel free to hit the armory team up with any questions you may have. Looking forward to seeing your build!
  11. @shashachu I looked back through your build thread and it looks like your clips are bent to curve around the TD so that it could be riveted to the hose. The front of the clip appears not to be touching the back of the clip. If you pinch it closed a bit with some pliers, that might remedy things for you.
  12. Hang in there brother! Family first, always. You’ll get to complete this adventure in due time, and we’ll be here when you’re ready.
  13. Awesome! You look great in those photos. If you haven’t seen Chopper’s post on keeping your kit together while trooping, it’s worth the read. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/w18894-some-tips-for-keeping-your-scout-costume-together-while-trooping/
  14. Excellent job on refinishing that hold out blaster! Sweet! I agree with you on the Hyperfirm E11. I use one for my TK and other costumes even though I have a DoopyDos and a spot on 3D print from Bryon Roller over at FISD.
  15. The hook for the bicep should go on your flight suit, as it will sit below your flak vest. You can definitely loosen the strap on your cod, it appears to currently be pulling the bottom causing the dreaded cod crunch. As for the other stuff I’m tagging@Chopper in to get you sorted.
  16. Keep in mind that the set up you use for inside the helmet is going to be one of personal preference so you’re gonna get different opinions about what works best. There are some that use the traditional headband like the original had, but some don’t like how it feels. I’ve heard some members complain about headaches after a while, but others swear by it. Likewise there are those that use tactical padding for a soft and snug fit and swear by it, while other feel it makes them sweat too much. If you want to check out the headband set up, see the link below: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/10270-fs-accurate-tb-helmet-hardware-kit-headband-kit-ongoing/ If you want to check out a padded route, go with something like this as it will give you plenty of pads which means a more custom fit. https://smile.amazon.com/Tfwadmx-Replacement-Motorcycle-Tactical-Accessories/dp/B07BRK2YDF/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=1TZLCTR38KTRA&keywords=helmet+oadding&qid=1663784316&sprefix=helmet+oadding%2Caps%2C221&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExTEFJWDM3RUw5TTU0JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUExMDI3Mzg4MzdZMlZGWDAwNDNSMiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNzI3OTc0MzFMRTE1UEsyQ0pHSCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl
  17. Where you have your legs set in the third photo of you wearing the flight suit looks good. You should be fine hemming just the legs as you propose. Doing so will help reduce the pant legs from blousing out of your boots and creating a baggy look. Your sleeves look fine with the gloves. I wouldn’t do anything to them right now.
  18. They are, but activity will vary from Garrison to Garrison. Have a conversation with your command staff and fellow scouts in the Garrison about reviving it.
  19. The Red Label bucket is fiberglass which is why it is lined on the inside. It’s heavier and a tad thicker than the ABS version. If you’re going to try magnets under the lining make sure you get rare earth mags with at least an 18 lb pull value.
  20. Glad to see you back at it Andy and congrats on your upcoming wedding! BTW, that’s how my RS end caps looked as well, and I will tell you that the CA glue they use is formidable to remove, but like Chopper said, leave it be for your Lancer app, and if it needs any work there’s a couple of options we can toss at you if needed.
  21. Juan, you’re close brother! It looks like your chest armor can come down ever so slightly and your back armor needs to come up. You’ll likely need to tighten things up at the shoulder bridge, but don’t do anything until@Chopper chimes in with specifics. Wait for his feedback. The back strapping on your right hip box looks a little off, as if it’s not attached in the correct spot, but it just might be a dressing issue if it got hung up when donning the belt. There are little dressing issues that are easy fixes, like placement of the biceps, and forearm armor, but I can help you with that once you’re ready to submit for approval. I’d be happy to take the pics for you and make sure everything is just right.
  22. Glad it helped! Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions as you go along.
  23. For a newb, my recommendation would be a ROTJ Scout. There’s a wealth of information, guides, tutorials, and references for that costume. It’s been around for quite a while when compared to the others The Mando Scout would be a similar build, but requires weathering techniques that may present a bit of a learning curve for someone without any experience. Of course if the Mando is your preferred look, then there is plenty of resources here and support from the armory team to get you across the finish line. Some other questions you may want to consider is budget? Are you looking to build this yourself or commission a set from a vendor (which is the most expensive option)? Are you willing to try your hand a making some of your soft goods, like the cummerbund, pouches, boots, etc.? That can save you some cash. While making your own stuff may sound intimidating if you’re a newb, know that most of us here were in the same boat when we started, and it was the help of the community here that enabled us to tackle that challenge. Like I said, you’ll find plenty of support here so don’t hesitate to ask any questions.
