  1. Thanks for posting the details of your flight suit dart mod. I'm just about to hit that part of my build and was wondering the best approach. I'm going to give that a shot. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  2. Here's a link to Mr. Paul's FP page: https://www.facebook.com/totalgrunt The pinned post has info about his items for sale.
  3. Anovos changed their name or was bought out and this is the new name. They don't have the best reputation for delivering products in a reasonable time though. If you're able, you might want to 3D print a helmet or get in on a run of Mr. Paul's buckets. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  4. Hi Seb - I made my own soft goods and got approved for L2 so it's doable! Hit me up with any questions but it looks like you're off to a great start already. Have fun sewing those ribs!
  5. I'd try hitting the can greeblee with some silver dry brushing on the highlights. Almost a reverse weathering technique. Might be faster than carefully painting it over and then weathering. You're doing a great job on your build. And yeah, don't focus on crisp lines everywhere. Weathering can hide a lot! Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  6. I used the files from@mrpoopie and scaled them at 112% to fit my holster. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  7. My kit is abs as well. Even with that, I was concerned about some parts rubbing too much and either making a noise or cracking. In those spots, I glued little strips of leftover neoprene from my hip plates to add as a buffer. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  8. I have a BSP helmet and used a bubble visor like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pilot-Style-Motorcycle-Helmet-3-Snap-Visor-Half-Open-Face-Wind-Shield-Flip-Up-/163904633283?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 I was able to find one with a dark brown tint. You might be able to trim one to fit yours. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  9. I used neoprene for the entire hip armor with plastic glued on top for the armor. I used plasti-dip over the areas of neoprene that needed to be painted and it worked pretty well. Do you have pictures of your hip armor? I'm curious how the leather looks.
  10. This is what I used for the hip armor and chest foam. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JSWJTNY/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_Y9ZMB2QJ1ANEM25V8JYB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah, some options for the lens is a flat welders visor but the screened used helmets had a curved/bubbled lens. Yours looks good!
  12. I think your shoulder bells look fine. The lines aren't very crisp (like paint bled through the tape). However, roughing parts up with some scrapes or battle damage might even out the look. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  13. I used a dark brown and burnt umber for my weathering. Watered it down, brushed it on (very quick and sloppy), and wiped it off with an old sock or paper towel. Left a lot in the cracks and seams and moved on. I did several passes until I was happy with it. Take breaks doing it so, when you come back, you have fresh eyes. Otherwise it either looks like not enough or too much. If you did do too much, just hit it with steel wool or high grit sandpaper. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  14. Exciting! Let us know if you have any questions!
  15. I'd get a roll of neoprene. You can use it for the chest, back, and the backer for any future hip armor. The samples you sent a picture of don't quite cut it, in my opinion. Your local GML might feel otherwise.
  16. I used the PVC glue to bond the petg pieces together. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  17. Hey Mike! Welcome to the joys of the Shoretrooper! I don't have experience with the 850 kit but it looks like you have the typical trimming and rigging in your future. If you have any questions about specific sections, let me know. But 850 in general, I'll let someone else chime in. Love your wreath!! Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  18. Hey, there is a gap at the shoulders so it's good to trim that part. The front and back attach via nylon webbing only. The collar placement looks ideal in the first photo. I'd go with that. Great progress!! Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  19. Merry Christmas all!!! Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  20. I like the Christmas themed Shore! Thanks for the update. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  21. I used nylon webbing and snaps. Some places were ok with some strong Velcro. Took a few troops to really nail it down for me. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  22. Filler primer also works wonders to fill in the print lines. You could also just buy/print/build an E-11B blaster and leave your E-22 as-is.
  23. Amazing build. The weathering is on point!! Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  24. Hi Tim - go with what you have. Both styles should be approvable.
  25. That's great news! Soft goods look great so far. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
