  1. None that I know of. What's wrong with the fit. From the photo you posted it looks fine.
  2. Before you do that - can you post some pictures? Perhaps we can come up with a different solution to help you out.
  3. Sean Fields forearms are pretty much all one piece. I don't think you can trim it down in a way that'll fit you. It won't cut well or be flexible enough to do what needs to be done. Can you reprint?
  4. What armor are you using? Sent from my Moto G (5S) Plus using Tapatalk
  5. I won't answer the twelve recesses as 1) I didn't have to trim that down and 2) that's best answered by your GML (who approves the costume). My forearm diameter was too big too. Instead of trimming it off where the cover strip would be (which would give me a weird twist in the armor) I cut the armor where the raised ridge is, test fit again with the overlap going inside the armor, and then glued it. That way everything is still in proportion and the ridge with the recesses still falls in the same place. I did this with BSP armor. Let me know if that's confusing and I'll try to diagram or find pics.
  6. Thank you all for the time you spend making this Detachment awesome!
  7. I thought the plastic would be flimsy too but I have an ABS kit and it holds up really well. Also... it's lightweight. With your full range of motion being restricted, it's nice to not also be weighed down.
  8. I like the wood putty technique!
  9. I bought a bunch of nylon wedding from strapworks.com. It's 1.5in width. Doubled up you're just about at 7.6cm. I think you're fine! Just burn/melt the ends with a lighter after you cut it otherwise it'll fray.
  10. I used a sweatshirt pattern as a base but I ended up just winging it. I decided to make two halves that I then joined with nylon webbing and buckles. Think of a hoodie that would zip up in the front and back. That way I could tighten/loosen the shirt as much as I needed - where I needed. I am not a seamstress and didn't want to figure out measurements for the bust vs. waist. I ended up using a stretchy gray material and sewing it onto headliner foam.... over and over and over again. I got pretty good as sewing straight lines. My favorite feature that I did accidentally on purpose was leaving the sleeves long and cutting in thumb holes. My ST Garrison brothers are jealous as their sleeves bunch in their armor. I made my own neck seal too. For the neck area I used a darker gray/almost black fabric and used piping material from the fabric store for the ribs.
  11. What is that blue filament you originally used in part of your e-22? Looks pretty. Good luck on the rest of your build! Having a 3D printer is fun! Except when it clogs.
  12. Have you done any test prints? I'm curious.
  13. Great job! Welcome to the fold!
  14. Congratulations Mickey and thanks for all you do!
  15. I'm also 5'8" and feel like my head is a normal size. I printed Sean's helmet at 100% and it fits ok. I'm a little concerned about adding some padding and still seeing out of the eye area. We shall see. You do feel like a bobble head with the bucket on but it all evens out when you wear the rest of the armor. I have a BSP v2 helmet and it fits well too. Just a tad heavy which is why I'm hoping the lighterweight 3D print will work.
  16. I used Plastidip. Did 4 thick layers of the brush on kind and was pleased with the results. Sent from my Moto G (5S) Plus using Tapatalk
  17. I used shock red. The blue changes in all lighting settings and weathering. I went with Mt. Everest because... I liked it more.
  18. Excellent!! Thanks!! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  19. Hi, are there any required vent holes in the helmet for level 2? I see for level 1 that it mentions a recess vent but I'm not sure if that has to be drilled all of the way through. I have a BSP V2 helmet and am hesitant to take a drill to it. Thanks! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  20. Are folks clear coating their armor after painting? If so - what are you using?

  22. I've been wanting to join the 501st for almost a year. Since my TK armor is getting held up for whatever reason - I'm about to pull the trigger and start a Shoretrooper. I'm so excited! Just wanted to say 'hello'.
