Hi Alex - that looks like a good cut line. Smart to do the tape up first for a visual. I have a bad habit of running ahead and just cutting.... then trying to fix my mistakes afterwards.
-
You can also fill the hole with milliput (easier to sand) with the backer like @Minimo suggested.
-
That'll work out fine. Coat it with something like mod podge or plasti-dip before trying to paint it.
-
That looks good!

You should be able to (hopefully) find an auto body shop to color match the Ford Nordic Blue 1401A. That's what I did in the states. It's a universal code.

Congratulations!

e-6000 takes a good 24 hours to cure and that time might be longer depending on the weather. I'd stick (ha!) with it as it is very forgiving if you need to pry the items apart. The most recent photos do look better as far as proportions and fit. Can you take in the width at all? Possibly pry off the armor detail in the front and overlap the armor and see how it fits/looks. As is, you should be passible for basic with your local GML. Question: my shin armor rests on my boots whereas yours doesn't. Are you using foam to wedge them on your legs or are they resting on your boots?
-
You might want to move the front plates down a tad instead of trimming the base. It's hard to tell without the top details installed as those might add more height. The shins look a bit wide too. Do they feel very lose?
-
Ok - shoot us some photos with the armor on with the boots before you do that. Better to get some other eyes on it before things get cut.

Hi Marcel! Here's a list of Vendors: We have (currently) six variants of Shoretroopers: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Pathfinders_CRL For the most part, the armor is the same. Some paint and accessories will vary across each one. Vac formed vs 3D printing is up to personal preference. Are you willing to print each part and spend the time gluing/filling/sanding? If not, buy the kit. I'd recommend going through a few WIP posts and see which method you prefer or are willing to stick with. Our current list of soft goods is here: Remember, getting approved is pretty much up to you. All kits have there issues. You'll need to modify or replace parts to get basic approval from your GML no matter which route you go. We're here to help you along the way so please keep your questions coming!

Pathfinders Virtual Armor Party 7 March 2021 (w/ Video)

Looking forward to chatting with you all. -
Any progress is good progress. It's hard to tell from the photo but does the base of the front of the shins line up with the base of the shins?
-
Send us photos when you get it. If the blast shield is the only issue, you might be able to switch it out with a more accurate one.
-
The blaster is pretty horrific and most likely is not approvable. See if it can be cancelled or try to contest with Etsy. Keep us posted. We will walk with you through this to get you approved as a Shoretrooper.
-
Looking good!

Congrats Mickey. Thanks for all that you do for the Pathfinders!

All kits will need to be tweaked to fit your body. When you pick a particular vendor, you will need to weigh accuracy vs. price point vs. quality of pulls (sharpness of details). Keep in mind you might have to mix/match parts from various vendors. I have a Backstage Props kit but replaced the pringles can and handplates. I'm also working on a new helmet (3D printed). The 850 kit might need a lot of work on the color but, for the price point, it could be worth your time.
-
Not a silly question at all! Depends on how much you will make yourself. I'd say a good range for the ST kit is $1,000-$1,750.

Your shoulder bell should be attached to the nylon webbing. That should be the only element that spans between the chest and back piece. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk

Looks like you have black plastic between the shoulder straps under the nylon webbing. If that's the case, you can trim that off. There should be a gap between the chest and back piece on the shoulder. The only connector is the black webbing. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk

Endor Finders has great Shoretrooper gloves. You can sew your own belt with two strips of 1.5" nylon webbing (zig zag stitch). I don't know if you have craft stores like Michaels/Joanns/Hobby Lobby up in Canada but they always have 40% off coupons. I use that to buy my e6000 glue (to save some cash).

Looks like you're ready to dive in on the sanding! Your bicep armor still might be able to get a smooth finish, depending on how many perimeters you printed. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk

Has any of the white reappeared on your ammo pouch? I have cleaned mine years ago many times over to help rid of the smell (some still remains) but the white blooms keep coming back.

Nice! I used about an entire can just on the bucket.
