  1. Waiting for gear is a buzzkill on working on the kit. Keep chipping away!
  2. So many Shores! Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  3. That hokey religion? Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  4. Nice. Looks like a good fit. Now get to work cutting out the hole for the eyes! Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  5. Found a photo of the inside of my bucket. I also attached some old prescription lenses with gaffers tape to the inside so I can see better . Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  6. Welcome! I used helmet padding in my bucket that's attached with Velcro. Below is a link to a product similar to what I used. https://amzn.to/3u1Vx1I The smaller bits of foam are stuck under the lens to prevent my nose getting crushed. I also used Velcro to attach fans/battery. The inside of my bucket is coated with plastidip and the Velcro sticks nicely. Have you tried lexan scissors to cut the curved parts? 7. So awesome! Congratulations!!! Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  8. It's easy to overdo the chipping. My first go around made my hand plate look like a chocolate chip cookie. Nice work on keeping it toned down. I did some light passes with 80 grit on a few places to build up the damage. Gives some nice texture. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  9. Nice! Looking good! I'm jealous that your plastic is black. Mine is cream so every real world scuff and scrape needs to be painted. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  10. Not really a quick draw holster! Some guys online already are printing them out. I hope they make it into the show. Nice to have other weapon options. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  11. Looking sharp. The painting process is always fun to see. You're almost done! Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  12. I have a BSP kit and shimmed out the ab armor to fit further down the hips. It gives an illusion of a longer torso. I'm 5'8" and didn't need to trim the shin armor at all. I did have to take in the width of the forearm armor though... It was huge on me. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  13. Welcome Rob! Don't hesitate to ask questions along the way. Looking forward to your build!
  14. Nico's is the best around! You chose wisely.
  15. Are you able to use any parts from the armor? Shame that what you bought needs to be redone but I'm sure it'll be for the better. Good luck with the prints. What kind of printer are you using? Filament type?
  16. Hi Steve - your work area is cleaner than mine! You have a great bucket - one of the best! Let us know how we can help!!
  17. Awesome! Looking good, Trooper!
  18. You're making progress, so that's good. What grit sandpaper are you using? Lower grit (rougher) will sand away more at once but leave a rough finish. Higher grit will leave a smoother finish but take sooo much longer. Usually a bit of the rough passes will get you the shape you need, then smooth it out with higher grit.
  19. Hi Marcel - welcome! Joe's advice is spot on. The WIPs will give you the best indicator of which kits require the work you're willing to put in. The Shoretrooper was my first ever cosplay build. I used Backstage Props because a Garrison mate recommended them. It's an ABS kit and pretty easy to mod. I replaced some parts with 3D printed versions to be more accurate though.
  20. Looking good. Sometimes it's helpful to hit it with a light coat of primer to expose all of the imperfections you need to fix.
  21. Welcome. Looking forward to your build.
  22. You don't need to worry about painting all at once or in stages. The Montana Gold paint is very easy to work with and blends well (if you need to touch up some spots). I'd paint as you have time. Your helmet might take more work to prep than you think. It is a good idea, however, to do the weathering at the same time to be consistent. Even that, though, you might end up doing multiple passes as the light (or your mood) changes.
  23. Really? There is a bit of texture on the armor from the painting method. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
