  1. Thank you for your application. We will take a look.
  2. You're almost to the finish line! Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  3. Contact cement will be your friend for the Velcro to foam adhesion. I super glued the three shotgun shells together, then glued a small square of spare plastic to them as a base. Finally, I glued that to the armor or I velcroed it. I can't remember. Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  4. Wanna post a photo? You'd want to ask your local gml about the approval. You might have success going through a series of polishes to buff it out, but it could make it worse. I scratched mine during install and replaced it. Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  5. I used black shoe polish, baby powder, sandpaper, and kicking dirt/rocks.
  6. Awesome. One of the great things about the Shore is the coloring options we have. Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  7. Probably not enough room that you need. Any chance you can work with the vendor on a replacement? Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  8. Shin placement is fine. Mine rest on my shoes.
  9. Just do exactly what Weasel said. It's weird to coat both sides and wait before putting the items together, but it works and works well. Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  10. I used contact cement. Never failed me. Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  11. The foam won't hold paint really at all. I brushed on some black plasti dip anywhere on the foam I wanted to paint as a binding agent. Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  12. You want to avoid foam armor if you want to join the 501st. The armor needs to be of a stiff material. What you want to look for is a hard plastic or 3D printed (you'll see the layer lines, hopefully, only on the inside). Fyi, I don't think this is 3D printed but if you see layer lines anywhere on the outside, keep in mind you will need to sand, fill, and repaint the entire area. Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  13. Hi - the details are a bit tricky to see in the photos but some of the initial suspicious areas that stand out: The buckles on the shoulders and shin armor look like they are flat out wrong or soft. Could be the photo compression though Straps around the shin armor looks like it stops in the back. It should go all the way around like it's one complete piece. The strap around the can looks to be leather. It should be nylon webbing (same material as the belt). It's missing the black diagonal stripes on the sides of the kidney plates. Hip armor is too small. It might have to be redone completely. Foam is also a tad small but your GML might not care. When you see the armor in person, compare it with the CRL. Especially the details of the buckles, hand plates, and back armor.
  14. I went with brown for my Captain build and got it approved to L2. With weathering techniques and lighting setups, we can't be too particular about the belt color tone for L2 and the other soft goods, for that matter. Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  15. I bought mine online for $20-$25. The Montana gold paints don't quite line up with the Nordic blue (for L2 status). Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  16. You can make the e22 out of whatever material you want. Real base, wood base, plastic, etc. Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  17. You'll want to hit your pants, gloves, kama, and boots with a combo of baby powder, watered down paints, shoe polish, dirt, sand, etc. Sent from my Pixel 7a using Tapatalk
  18. Yeah - they look ok. Hard to see a ton of the little details though. Should be approvable if finished correctly.
  19. Congratulations Trooper! Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks for applying - was hoping you would. The team will look it over and get back to you in this thread. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  21. Yeah, I agree that you can pull the ab plate up a bit. You shouldn't need to cut anything unless it's biting into you and, even then, I might wait until I got approved. You're not going to have great torso mobility in the Shore though. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  22. Yeah, the pull part was what I was referencing. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  23. That stub on the tank top rivet shouldn't be there, fyi. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  24. Welcome to the beach patrol! Looking forward to your build.
  25. Some people have used fabric in the back (I've seen it with a zipper) which gets covered by the back plate. That might provide more comfort. I know when I shimmed out my ab armor, it was trickier to get the front/back armor to fit properly. Extending the shoulder straps actually worked best for me. Having it looser and hanging a little lower was ideal. Don't forget to paint the diagonal black stripe on your kidney armor. I didn't notice it in the photos. For the armor bites, try foam wedges before you cut too much. That might help as well. If you have any hesitation on cuts, post pics here before you proceed. We will help you out!!
