  1. Last bit done before I apply for Lancer. 3D print from@mrpoopie files. Sized up at 112% to better fit my holster. Hopefully flat black is ok for the paint. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  2. I hear you. I battled the same thing when I made my undershirt.
  3. Shirt looks great. Might be a bit too loose in the arm area but hard to tell without the armor. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  4. Here you go: https://imperialissue.com/product/metal-belt-slide
  5. Hi - I haven't printed the files yet but will help where I can. I'd wager the visor buck is used for vac forming your own visor. You might be able to fit a chopped down curved motorcycle helmet visor to fit. Lots of folks use/recommend Armor Smith software to figure out/scale foam and 3D files to fit your body. That might be your best bet for a fit. You can also do a small test slice to get an idea for the fit. I'd do a few of the bigger parts to get an idea for the fit on your head.
  6. Ditto but I added fans inside my bucket. Helped keep the lens clear.
  7. I couldn't find a WIP example on the forums. There is a post on the Shoretrooper Fam facebook page. Search for "Steve Goldsack" - he has a description of how he added an LED kit to his blaster. This is the LED kit he used: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Kit-LED-Special-Effects-Lights-Red-8-Mode-Control-9-12-volt-Scenery-Props-MEL-/121406610918
  8. Your bucket is nice and clean... dirty it up Trooper! You might want to do the weathering all at once so it's consistent. It is a bit easy to add more and gently take away. Have fun with it!
  9. Hi Richard - welcome!!
  10. Since it already cracked, it might be a high stress point. I'd glue some nylon webbing on the backside to strengthen that area and stop the crack from expanding. Might want to do it with the other leg armor too. Keep the crack showing. It'll add to the weathering and prevent more work trying to blend in bondo/weathering with the rest of the armor.
  11. I best get to cracking on my L2 application. Thanks for the kick in the butt flap area.
  12. It's a scalable file so you can shrink the image down and try again. For reference, I printed the template out at 9.5" and my boots were 9.5 mens.
  13. I wired mine to a USB port that goes into a lipstick battery. Henry's Helmet Fans is a good source for ones already done up if you don't want to make your own. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  14. I have one above my right cheek blowing air over the lens to defog it. Another below my left cheek acting as an exhaust blowing the air down and out the bucket. I use Velcro to hold them in so I can move them around as needed. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  15. Hey, welcome! You're right that the hand plates have been updated. The accurate ones include an oblong recess in the top. Imperial Surplus has great kits. I personally have a Backstage Props kit. There are others out there but Imperial Surplus seems to get the most praise. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  16. That's awesome! Congrats Chris! Have fun trooping!!!
  17. You might want to consider using a hook and loop system to secure the wires in your bucket. It'll be easier to switch out the system (in case of a broken wire) than the hot glue.
  18. Wear the boots now so you can enjoy them and get a natural weather on them.
  19. I can only help with some of the questions: Buying a kit in ABS is faster and has more flex, but the cost is higher and the details are softer. I would avoid PLA. Go with PLA+ or PETG. The sanding is easier and the higher melt point will help during the summer months (even though the melting of any kit would be from leaving it in a car in very warm weather). For any parts that rub (ABS or 3D printed), I'd glue some foam to the backside to act as a buffer.
  20. You might be surprised how often you will use your sewing machine. It's very satisfying to make your costume soft goods. Turning yards of fabric into something usable is a neat feeling. I made a small bag that snaps into the straps behind my leather ammo pouch to hold my cell phone/wallet. It was incredibly handy at cons. Would have been darn near impossible to do that without custom making it. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  21. I'd find someone local. Ask around your garrison or circle of friends. Someone will help you out. Taking in the sleeves will be done in minutes and doesn't have to be a clean job. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  22. Taking in the shirt is pretty easy task, especially for the arms. Your bells look to be a good size. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  23. Hi Joshua - welcome! I bought the files but haven't printed them, but Niko's files for the helmet are very accurate. https://www.etsy.com/shop/DesertFareCosplay?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=864903122 If you want to buy a finished bucket, Mr. Paul has rolled out his own. I've used things like these for all of my buckets: https://www.amazon.com/JADEDRAGON-Universal-Tactical-Accessories-Motorcycle/dp/B074KBYYR7/ref=dp_prsubs_1?pd_rd_i=B074KBYYR7&psc=1
  24. Not a stupid question. The back plate does come up from the back of the armor. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  25. Looks great so far!! Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
