  1. Don't tell anyone but I cheated my belt down and am also a Lancer. For the bund, I added extra Velcro on the inside flap. It's really hard to tell in the photos (if at all) but it's actually wider at my hips and narrows towards the bust. Gives me a cleaner look and I don't have a bunch of excess bunching towards the chest/back armor. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  2. I have to cheat with my biker scout belt (and shoretooper costume) to get the right look. Mine basically sits on my hips and not my waist. Cheating down gives me 5" or more for my bund and is a cleaner look. So far my belt stays put just fine (it closes with Velcro in the back). If I'm concerned with it slipping down, I'd put some Velcro on the flight suit to help hold it in place. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  3. Check out Henry's helmet fans too. I made my own fans (not that difficult). I have one near my eyes blowing over the lens. One near my mouth acting as an exhaust. Works pretty well. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  4. You kind of do what works for you. Mine are all glued together because I'm able to slide my foot in. That won't work for some so they leave the fronts open (or laced with elastic straps) to give a wider opening to slide their foot through.
  5. Awesome work, Trooper! Gave me inspiration to make one for myself. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  6. Have fun sanding. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  7. I got mine from imperial issue. Aside from him and Mr. Paul, I'm not sure of another source. https://imperialissue.com/product/metal-belt-slide Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah! Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  9. You want to print it at 100% and it should span multiple pages. When I made mine, I printed it at 100%, cut and taped the template, and did a test fit. I know I printed it a bit bigger to stay in proportion. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  10. The KitKat greeblie? It can be fully shown or hidden. Just depends on your body type and how you kit up that day. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  11. Might just be a booger then. Does it show up on the stl file?
  12. Welcome! Looking forward to seeing your build. I haven't done a Mr. Paul build but it might be an alignment pin.
  13. It's nylon webbing 38mm wide so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Two strips are sewed together in a zig/zag pattern. You'd need to ask your local GML about the color (in case color options are very limited in your country). You should be able to find the webbing at fabric stores, upholstery shops, and online.
  14. Get a nice seam ripper! We all use them.
  15. Yeah, not a lot of the shirt is seen so you should be fine. Just make sure the ribs for the bib are vertical. Some folks miss that detail the first time around.
  16. Congratulations Mike! Welcome to the club!
  17. I haven't printed out my own and done in-person comparisons to an Anovos or Niko helmet yet. Comparing photos is hard because of the perspective compression. Things I have read are the blast shield placement/shape and overall shape (possibly being more 'squished'). If I can't really tell you the differences, that means they are so minor it doesn't matter. If you finish the helmet correctly (per the CRL), it'll be approvable. For the "most accurate" bucket, you'll want to search out Mr. Paul's helmet (I believe he only sells the final product) or Niko's helmet on etsy (STL files). Hope that helps. If not, let me know!
  18. Mike - you're blowing us away! You have done a fantastic job with your kit. Well done, Trooper! Our only feedback (that we would like to see before approval) is... your clothes are too clean. Please add some additional weathering to: Pants Gloves Foam on the chest and back armor We know weathering disappears on photos but the team believes that by adding some weathering to the above items, it'll balance out your entire kit. Go play on the beach a bit, hike around in the forest, or go at it with some shoe polish/baby powder/paints. No need for a full kit-up. You can just send individual photos of the items after you're done. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
  19. Aside from adding a backer on the 12 vents in the back, there isn't a lot more to be done. The overall look isn't as accurate but it's pretty darn close and is approvable once it is painted and weathered appropriately. Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
  20. Stock up on e6000 glue. That'll be your best friend. Just don't leave the cap off.
  21. Fantastic work, thank you!
  22. Hey Shanko! We have some pretty decent tutorials. The Breeches tutorial that was just completed by @Larcwide is amazing and very easy to follow. I muddled through making my pants (my first ever sewing project). It seems overwhelming at first, but doable. For the undershirt, I basically used a sweatshirt pattern, figured out how it kinda went together, and sewed a lot of straight lines. A lot. The shirt is very forgiving as most is covered up. For both, I wandered around a fabric store and got some that seemed right. The pants ended up being brown duck cloth. The shirt was a brown cotton jersey type fabric and I sewed headliner foam in the back to add the "puff" for the ribs. Super hot in the summer so proceed with caution. Neck seal was some puffy black fabric I found. Sorry I'm not more specific. I'm not knowledgeable about different types of fabrics. Just used what looked right to me.
  23. Fantastic work!!
  24. I only printed parts of my armor. I've heard great things about the Armorsmith app. For my uses, I've just dinked around with paper templates on what might fit me, measured the paper templates, and then scaled accordingly. I use the Prusa Slicer and can use metric/inches to scale the files.
  25. Welcome to the club of not being able to move your head much once suited up. I had to work quite a bit to get the neck brace further down so I had more room to move my head. I'm able to get completely suited up except for my shoulder bells with bicep armor attached. Every kit is different though. Your kit looks a little large. You can shave and pull in the arm armor parts. The chest looks really big. Can you replace it with a smaller one? You should still get cleared for basic with it though. I'd try to pull in the shoulder bells and even out the bicep positions. Forarm armor is big but you can shim them down. I'd do one step at a time and send another photo.
