A lot of people use these from trooperbay: https://trooperbay.com/biker-scout-tank-decals If you don't mind cutting it yourself, you can also use 1/8" automotive pinstriping.

Questions for studio creations armor

Hello and welcome! If I can add to what Mickey said -- the Don Post helmet needs to be modified for 501st clearance. Note that it does take some work to bring it up to standard, but it can be done. Here's an old .pdf that was created some years ago on how to modify the Don Post/Rubies helmet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1klNrP_cFjTP_NRuUhLAIgecELRh5HRO5/view?usp=sharing Hopefully that helps!

TB 10738 LANCER SPEC CLEARANCE (APPROVED)

Hi Dave, do you have a higher resolution photo? Or a link to a higher resolution photo via dropbox? The one you posted is fairly small and hard to see any detail. -

That happens to me sometimes as well. @M.J is our resident sewing expert, so I'll defer to her advice. -
The best option for posting images is to use a photo hosting service, such as imgur or dropbox.

No prob at all. Let us know if you have any questions, or need anything clarified.

Yeah the SC website and printed instructions are fairly outdated. For SC builds, most people use the Pandatrooper build thread, primarily b/c most all of the steps are heavily documented and photographed: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/9781-pandatroopers-sc-biker-scout-build/&tab=comments#comment-81496 Note that Panda's build is also a bit older, so keep the CRL in mind when in comes to strapping and things like that: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Scout_trooper

Hi Ron, whose armor did you end up purchasing?

Nathan, the bund vs armor color difference you're seeing is somewhat a result of lighting, material, and camera settings. It happens with my armor and soft goods too.

Questions for studio creations armor
Chopper replied to EC-17 Holdout Blaster's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
As per the CRL: Level 1: "Rank bars" present on the right side of the tank can number between 0 to 6 stripes. Level 2: 1, 4 or 6 "rank bars" on tank are acceptable -
If you're using the vinyl vacuum tubing, it can be a little tricky to bond HDPE to ABS, but you should be able to use either E6000 or crazy glue. Some folks glue a bit of properly sized PVC pipe to the inside of the caps, which you can then insert into the tubing. This gives a bit more surface area for a glue bond.

Hey Andy, you've done a really great job restoring that nasty gouge mark. Right now though, rather than asking about Lancer, I recommend that you check back with the OLG GMLs in the build thread on the local forums to make sure that your repairs will pass basic clearance -- remember, you can't apply for Lancer until you get cleared and become a 501st member! -

Jeff at SC is known for his excellent customer service. Have you sent these photos to him? Since it's right out of the box, he may just send you a replacement part. -
What were you confused about with the helmet?

There's no need to paint the armor white before weathering and it's not common for most ROTJ builds. When it comes time for weathering, after assembly, most folks just use a bit of rattlecan misting from a ways back. Here's a video from Strider on the process he used: See also Strider's post below from 11 May 2017 describing his process: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/17305-lancer-build-tutorial/page/2/

Chopper replied to woobiee's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
I wouldn't worry too much about paints right now. Let's see whether or not you can feasibly repair that torn portion with the leather fill and see how it goes. If it resurfaces well enough to pass basic clearance, and hopefully it does, then we can start thinking about the best paints to use. -
Is it like an orange peel? Post up some photos, if you can.
-
It means that the weathering should be close to what was seen on the TV show. We currently have one approved Mando Lancer app, you can check out what his looked like: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/22606-tb-44365-mikerscout-lancer-request-approved/

Do you by any chance have any ABS scrap pieces left over from your helmet assembly? If so, then you can make ABS paste and use that to fill the gap. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42866-how-to-make-abs-paste/

[woobiee] 1st and New build! (Lancer probably)
Chopper replied to woobiee's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Damn, well that's unfortunate turn of events. I don't see a lot of options for repair and I don't think it will be very easy to remove the dog bone and move it down without further tearing. I have no experience with using vinyl or leather fillers, but at this point, there's no harm in giving it a try as an experiment. -
Okay thanks. Based on what I'm seeing, I'd say leave the top edge alone and don't trim it. Go ahead and trim the bottom edge the 1/2" you marked and you should be good.

Yes, the IB scout boots have known issues for Level 2, as per our advisory list here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/21881-rotj-scout-armor-kit-accuracy-and-level-2-lancer-applications/ See also Dekard's post from 5 August in the following link for remediation: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/22556-rotj-and-remnant-boot-differences/
