Looks much better. The top two or so rows or laces should be covered with your calf piece and dogbone so you are looking good. As I mentioned before you got a really nice smooth stretch going there.

One can never know with how inconsistent they were in '83 with this particular set of armor. George is a pretty fussy guy when it comes to how his actors look on screen so it strikes me funny that there are so many different interpretations. Much like the FISD we almost have a type of "stunt" and "hero" Scouts. It's fascinating to read about how Nilo, Pete Ronzini, Ira Keeler, Aggie Rodgers and the others created this wonderful suit of armor we love.

I have to agree with StoutScout. I used the same base boot but swapped out the laces for the flat tennis shoe ones. It keeps the boot tight on your foot but sits flat when stretching the vinyl. I think you got a nice stretch going and other than the laces it's looking great. Check your major sporting goods stores there. I would be surprised if they didn't sell around the world. Also check with you Garrison mates they may be able to point you in the right direction.

I wear a UA balaclava and it's perfect for the Arizona heat so you made a good choice.

I don't disagree but the pricing is way too much. An RS or an eFX is just too crazy expensive for a bucket. Other than the scouts in this det who's going to know if I'm in an Altmann's, SC or an RS?

1.) The adjustments required would be mostly based on if the previous owner has the same body shape and size. Each set of armor is "fitted" to the individual. It's a rare occurrence that no adjustments would be required. 2.) The bund and vest can certainly be modified but again that depends on how it initially fits on you. The vest sleeves should be around 0.5 (12mm) to an inch (25mm) past the shoulder bell. The cummerbund is a little trickier. The height of the bund should span the space between your belt and chest armor. It shouldn't go below your belt line. Due to the way the bund is made it might be difficult to modify and a new one might have to be made. 3.) The overalls are a little easier to fit if somewhat too large. A tailor can help you resize them and take in any bunching at the arms and legs and hem them for length. The critical parts there are the riding patches, mudflap, and thigh straps but those shouldn't be affected by the fitting. 4.) Generally, It's adjustable as long as you are going smaller than the original sizing. Most of the costume is soft goods so those can be repaired, replaced. You can always adjust the strapping to fit for the belt, forearms, bicep, knees, and shoulders. The chest and back armor are usually trimmed at the shoulders. If you have enough space there and at the sides you should be fine. I would suggest suiting up and taking some pics of the front, back, and sides and review them. That way you will get an idea of how the armor fits and looks on you and give you an idea of what needs to be adjusted. Post them here as well if you would like and we would be more than happy to help you with any additional questions you might have.

I would touch base with some Pathfinders in your Garrison. I bet they'll have the lowdown on where you can find those boots. I got mine from Kmart but I'm not sure if they ship to Canada.

Great start! Look like you need to roll your forearm armor over more so it sits on the too of your wrist. Bring the bicepts over a bit more too. The pouches need to be in between your belt and chest but like the shoulders you are already addressing that. Your TD is also skewed and you'll want to straighten that up as well as pull your bund up in the back. Most of it is just fitment and straightening. Clean with Clorox wipes and a magic eraser after every troop. Only my knees are scratched from kneeling with the little ones. Be careful of those darn TD's if they bump into you their weathering scuffs your armor desert brown and tan. Ugh! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

Looking great so far Matthew! I used the same base boot and it worked out well. It's great to maintain your build thread here as you'll find lots of help so you're right on point. Just keep it going in one place so there is continuity to your build. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
