The bund shouldn’t go any higher than the strapping between the chest and back armor and sit just above your belt at the waist. You can work on the flight suit, vest and boots if you want to wait for the armor to come in before you make it but you should be able to make some assumptions regarding length and width.

It looks more akin to the stormtrooper armor tabs. That's going to require some closer scrutiny. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk -
Thanks Kevin! That makes two in the DSG! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.....

Ha! I read this in John Mclain's voice.

Great idea to add the extra shim to spread the load from the rivets. Recommend doing the same to your knees as well as the slots for your strap between the back and chest. That area gets exercised quite a bit when you kit up/down. It will help to keep cracks from forming. Enjoy the little one at every moment! It goes way too fast. I brought mine home what feels like yesterday and he's 9 now😬 Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

New picture with pouches repositioned. My apologies for my belt not being straight This was right before starting a troop and I didn’t have a chance to check myself before a mirror yet. -
That’s a beautiful helmet! If I may ask where did you get the maquette scout that’s behind it? That would look great in my scout collection.

recommendations for boot brands and vendors
Retrofire replied to WhiteNightForest's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
I’m 30+ troops using my Texas Steers and they have been great. Comfort is very important especially for your feet so go with what you feel is most comfortable for you. The sole color is important if you plan to submit Lancer at some point so keep that in mind. I went with one of the vendors (fellow scout) in the Trade Forum and he did a great job and I couldn’t be happier with them. I had him make the parts and then assembled them myself. -

Flight Suit Musing. Looking for new direction
Retrofire replied to mjhenks's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
One thing to keep in mind is that the TB is three layer suit. Four if you include your undershirt. You have the flightsuit, vest, bund then chest armor over that and a belt around your waist. After troops I'm soaked and so is the inside of my armor. I'm in AZ so that's part of the territory but Todd is right you might want to avoid thick cloth for your suit. I had my redkap tailored but it still feels a bit heavy and I am hunting for a lighter weight material to work with. Racing suits can fit the bill but nomex doesn't breathe and can be dangerous when you're trooping in the heat. Make sure you consider the environment you're trooping in and pick the fabric that will keep you comfortable. -
You can ensure a good fitting by checking the fit and then wrapping the shoulders in painters tape and use that to adjust. Another thing I recommend is to glue some backing ABS to the front and back pieces where the side straps will go. Over time that area is prone to cracking and the additional thickness will strengthen that area. I had to go back and repair my SC using that method. Keep up the great work!

I agree. The seem a tad longer and maybe a bit thinner. Also noted they look to have a black line (stitch) pattern as well.
-
I thinks that's going to be tough. Those little buggers are usually ringed with teeth to hold them to the fabric. Maybe you could sew a small disk of black fabric over them to camouflage them. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

Some additional reference pics. Note the red decals on the belt boxes and back of the helmet. The snout is pretty interesting too. One other item is that there doesn't seem to be a "v" on the front belt box like the ROTJ scout. -
Drop by the trade forum I'm sure you'll find a good vendor.
-
I don't think those will fly for Lancer sir. You can find the 3M bolts in the Trade Forum from KW designs. The current ones you are sporting are fine for basic but they look black rather than the light grey of the required 3M bolts and don't have quite the right shape. I would recommend against getting them via Amazon as those bolts are usually the upgraded type and they won't match. If you are in proximity to a weld supply store you can always check there just in the event they might have some older stock.

Woot! Time to pop some popcorn and get to it!
