  1. Yeah I'm thankful, and extremely lucky, that my Mum is a pro seamstress so she's going to help me with all the sewing for my flightsuit and vest. I'm going to Marcel for my bund/pouches since I want that to be perfect and his work comes highly recommended. Ultimately I want to go for Lancer too so I feel it's best to put the time in on front end to make sure everything passes muster. Joseph you might want to check out Gabe. I believe he does flight suits. I'm sorry I don't have the post available but you should be able to find more info on the Soft Armor boards. -Peter
  2. Awesome, thanks for the input Stasz! I have to give a shout-out to Wookievader's earlier thread on these boots! I agree in regards to the laces. I'm going to pull them and replace with tennis shoe laces and remove the four speed laces at the top of each boot. Now I just have to get through all these cuts without a visit to the ER for stitches so time to go slow and steady. Thanks again for the input!
  3. I went with a Hyperfirm since I have a HFx E11 for my TK build. I have to say that I really love it for its accuracy and weight especially since it's going to sit in my boot holster and I don't want it to weigh down my boot. I'm not familiar with the TPE or Negativeleven's versions so I can't speak to those but I have seen DVH's version and it is really nice and light and a lot of scouts are carrying them. Keep in mind that there are a lot of, how shall I say this, inaccurate version floating around so I would recommend checking out the Armory and give the blaster section a good read. You'll find a lot of the experienced Pathfinders speaking up about their blasters and find examples of inaccurate ones. Best to you! -Peter
  4. Time to start my boots! I've been through many of the threads, and the boot tutorial, and I would like to see if what I have looks good before I start to cut. These are size 10.5 boots from K Mart. Appreciate any constructive criticism to make sure I'm doing this right. Thanks!
  5. Thank you so very much! That's a great technique and really innovative. I wouldn't thought of doing it that way. Reading through the thread I think I've learned to go slooooooowwwww and have band-aids ready and possibly some Neosporin:) Thanks again for taking the time to give me a tutorial I really appreciate it! -Peter
  6. Can you tell me what blade type you used here (i.e. angled, flat) and how you approached your cuts? Your cuts are amazing! I just got the same exact boots so I'm following this thread pretty closely. Thanks for posting it!
  7. Tree? What Tr....

  8. I can't image that any undersuit is cool. Unless you're wearing one of those coolshirts that are used for racing. Then we add the vest and armor on top of that and a bucket. Be interesting how a scout looks under a IR camera . I just tried my undersuit (RedKap) on last night to check the fit and begin working on it and the first thing my wife said was "that looks hot" so I used the standard Pathfinder response "Why yes...yes it is".
  9. Stasz, did you take in your arms and legs yourself? I just got my RedKap and I'm sure I'll have to do the same. Thanks!
  10. I attacked it by breaking down the CRL for the scout to figure out what I needed. Here's a good place to start looking for what you need http://forum.bikersc...?showtopic=8569 from there you can go over to the Trade Forums but you might want to do a little homework first and understand what you need. I've been spending a lot of time in the Armory forums learning just how to do all this. You'll be much better off taking a little time to do the research and find what fits for you.
  11. It's over in Soft Armor. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=12485
  12. I'd love to see them I'm working on my boots now and can always use another example. Best of luck on the Lancer! Hope to see your badge change soon!
  13. Jeeze the last time I sewed was in Home Ec in High School. I certainly can't judge I'm in the same boat as you as I don't have a sewing machine either. The local dry cleaning places do alterations for all sorts of suits and uniforms (I live near an AFB). Have you thought about looking into one that may do the sewing for you in your area? Just a thought. Best to you!
  14. Thanks for reminding me that I needed my armor first! I completely forgot about that. I appreciate everyone chiming in on this. Thanks!!
  15. Does anyone know if there is a vest pattern available? I'd like to try my own but I want to make sure it passes muster for approval. Scout Trooper has a great tutorial but as I mentioned I just wanted to inquire and see if there was one out there. Thanks!
  16. How did they miss all those trees?

  17. Wow. Service with a smile...well I think your smiling under your bucket . Thanks very much for attacking this so rapidly! - Peter
  18. Good evening. I was wondering if there have been any updates to the vendor listing thread for all the items that make up the most decerning TB. It looks like the last update was 2011. I noted that the Hyperfirm link is no longer in use. I believe they have moved to Hyperfirm Weaponry [HFx Productions]. They've just released a new TB hold-out blaster. The glove link doesn't return anything viable either. I wasn't able to see the other links but I believe that I need more posts before those become open to me. Thanks for the help! -Peter
