BikerScout007's Shoretrooper Captain build
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Shoretrooper WIP
Because I'm stuck at home along with the rest of us, now is a good time to do some repairs on the Shoretrooper and Vanguard upgrades as well Already started repainting the Anovos so now I'm turning to the hardware. Here's a set of replacement hardware from Bone Buddrus. Not sure about the belt boxes. They are pretty heavy! I can only imagine that with them and the thermal detonators my belt will weigh a ton! -
BTS Emperor arrival: what’s going on here?

@lonewolf was talking about making the prototype thigh armor. Not sure how far he got. -

Probably a stripe since the construction method would seem to rule out a gap there. Nice catch! -
Biker Scout Boots Tutorial
BikerScout007 replied to cheesewhoopy's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
We don't specify the color in the CRL. Our model boot uses white thread; the "brown" would be caused by weathering. -

Sewed to the nylon strap! -
That's what I did. There was plenty of scrap left over

Okay just dug mine out because I couldn't remember what I did. I shimmed them.

Could you try curving the bottom of it with a belt sander? Sounds like a good idea in my head anyway. I don't have a belt sander But yes, this was one of the big challenges of this kit.

Nothing to it but to dew it!

I'm glad to hear you are safe, Denis. Haven't heard much about Russia in the news.

Looks great! Oh and I moved this to the Shoretrooper WIP forum

It's looking really good! I did one of these myself not too long ago. One piece of advice I'd give is to forget about riveting the face shield to the main helmet and instead get the correct 3M bolts: They are very easy to install in the helmet, as I have done here: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/19818-speedglas-bolt-assembly/&tab=comments#comment-179127

Attaching plate on the back of the ab armor
BikerScout007 replied to Chopper's topic in Shoretrooper Armor/Helmet
Ah that's it. Part of the belt! My mistake. Not sure if it would work with KW's armor but it sure is good approach. -
Attaching plate on the back of the ab armor
BikerScout007 replied to Chopper's topic in Shoretrooper Armor/Helmet
I can't remember exactly but I want to say @mr paul's is part of the back armor. I was looking for a pic but it's a little hard on my work laptop! -
Awesome, can't wait to see your build.

Hey Pathfinders It is a dark time for the Empire. We are all living in circumstances that none of us could have foreseen just a year ago and it's affecting every aspect of our lives -- including the mission of the 501st Legion, as troop after troop gets cancelled. We aim to keep the Pathfinder forum a friendly place, and with many stuck at home, now seems as good a time as any to work on your armor builds. Whether you are trying to get approved, or upgrade your current Pathfinder kit to Level 2, we are here for you. So start those build threads and let's see what you are working on! Our Level 2 review teams are on hand to review anyone going for Level 2, though we may not be able to move as fast as we always do. If you are going stir crazy at home and just need to blow off some steam, the Barracks are a perfect place to post some jokes, pictures of how you are coping or just reaching out to other Pathfinders http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/17-the-barracks/ I've been reading about this virus in the news and keeping up with events both here and abroad. I'm not a medical doctor or an epidemiologist, but my attitude is to act like I already have it and everyone I encounter has it. Keep folks at a distance of 6 feet, minimize social encounters and try to stay indoors. We don't want to lose any Pathfinders during this episode! The World Health Organization has information about COVID 19 here: https://www.who.int/health-topics/coronavirus And remember, those Pathfinder buckets are not N95 certified! Stay safe out there Mickey Bukowski TB/ST-81974 Pathfinders Detachment Leader

Not going to happen. We don't endorse particular vendors products for a number of reasons, the biggest being the gray area we are operating in as far as copyright is concerned. We would also essentially be dictating a cost that a level would have to be. And making it impossible for everyone to achieve due to lack of availability in their part of the world. Also, the scout essentially is a soft costume, and the quality of the soft parts makes a much bigger impact on how well the costume appears than the armor alone.

Pandatrooper's SC Biker Scout build
BikerScout007 replied to Pandatrooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Just keep in mind SC has updated their kit since Terry started this thread many many years ago. Although the build process is pretty much the same, SC has made their chest and back armor a lot more accurate since 2012. -

I cut those myself from a sheet of black vinyl. The thin stripes are 1/8 inch and the 4 thick stripes are 1/4!
