  1. Fantastic! Did you all pick a name for the ART yet?
  2. I just need a name and a Point of contact! And if you start a Facebook group, add me and Dart (Andry Bobyk). Thanks for starting an ART! Let's get more butts in Pathfinders kits!
  3. I will be there with the rest of the Scout Team Six bowling team, defending our 2019 title!
  4. It's not asking for a glass lens. Its asking for the cuts in the scope. I think the wording could definitely be better though. Let's get this cleaned up.
  5. The hold up would be for level 2. Hold-out Blaster Flat or semi-gloss black. Blaster does not have any visible trigger. Blaster is lightly weathered. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The scope has lens discs cut into the scope for a more realistic appearance. No decals representing cross hairs or similar. No drilled barrels. The screen used ones did not have drilled barrels.
  6. Couldn't do it without you and the rest of the team man. We've got a smooth running machine here and I aim to keep it that way!
  7. I just try not to talk
  8. I dont use a sound system any longer because I didnt like the way it pulled down on my pouches. but when I did I just put an Aker speaker in a pouch. Scouts don't have static burst so a TK-style sound system isn't appropriate.
  9. I'm headed to Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland in two weeks, I'll let you know what I can "scout" out.
  10. Looks great, dude!
  11. Hello Pathfinders! Thank you once again for your support; I hope to make this the best year yet for our beloved Detachment. Due to a change in the election rules enacted last year, today is the start of the new Legion year! So Happy New Legion Year, everybody. As you all know, we have a new LCO and this week she will be busy getting her new team into place. So you may want to drop in on 501st.com and see how that is going. We have got a lot on our plate for the Pathfinders this term! First, we are celebrating our Detachment's 20th Anniversary this year. You may have already gotten one of the 20th Anniversary coins already; there will be more 20th Anniversary themed merch coming out this year. We've got six merch slots to work with this term, so we are going to do our best to make the most of them. Speaking of merch, let's talk about the racing shirts. Typically we like to do the racing shirt run in late summer. Unfortunately, due to LFL taking a greater interest in what the Legion units are producing, we had to wait an additional two months to get their approval before we could proceed. This pushed us into late fall. Then we had issues with Keepsmile not being able to use the data file for the shirt (despite it being very similar to 2018's), which pushed us into the holidays. Then Keepsmile let go of the agent that was working with us, causing even more delays. Finally -- we hit another delay caused by Chinese New Year and now all merch runs are being held up by quarantines caused by the Coronavirus. This has affected all merch across the board, so expect to see delays in everything made in China. We are very sorry about all this and all I can say is once @Shortstack gets the shirts, he will get them out ASAP. Besides 20th Anniversary merch, there will also be a Celebration patch coming later this year for SWCA! Since Anaheim is in my backyard, I hope to get to meet as many of you there as possible. Details about photos and get togethers will be coming later down the road. @Shortstack will also be getting the 2020 Trading Card run going soon. So be on the lookout for that! And of course... new CRLs! We are getting very close to completing two: Scout Trooper - The Mandalorian and Scout Trooper: Jedi Fallen Order. I've been working with @Tarrif, @StephTrooper, @The Wayner and @MrPoopie on those two CRLs and we are within striking distance on each of them. Also coming down the pipe is the Kashyyyk Officer from Battlefront 2. I've been working with @ferra and @yoshix on that one. Finally we are still trying to gather information on the Mountain Trooper. @heartstopper85 has been diligently working on one, but we are running into an issue with conflicting sources, as well as it only being available as an action figure, which the Legion typically frowns upon. Hope springs eternal that these troopers will eventually show up at Galaxy's Edge, but so far nothing. We aren't giving up though! The Forum! Thanks so much for your generous donations this past month. We are all set for this year and possibly most of next year. We have to make a few changes with the badges, which I have outlined in this post here: If you get a chance, please edit your profile and check off the Detachment costumes you have. (Go to Profile>Edit Profile>Scroll down to "Approved Pathfinder Kits" and check off your approved costumes). Eventually your main badge is just going to say "Pathfinder" so this will be the only way people can see what kits you have at a glance! I am currently seeking a female Pathfinder to join our PR team and head up Recon Fatale. If you or anyone you know is interested, please PM me! Finally, if you have any suggestions for the term, please feel free to post them below! Tip of the Lance Mickey Bukowski TB/ST-81974 Pathfinders Detachment Leader
  12. You can't see the part that squares off on my suit when I have everything on. If you were to see that detail (meaning the patch was too low), then yes that would be a problem for Lancer.
  13. They used black gaffer tape in the movie so that's what I did with my bucket. You would be more correct just leaving it with the tape!
  14. That's pretty much what I did. You can see here Not really in love with how this part of the armor was sculpted.
  15. There's Spike with the quick sales pitch
  16. As far as I am concerned, the boots you have are fine for Basic approval. We've always used a Level 2 trooper for our CRL photos because we want to show what the best possible version of the costume is. It's not to imply that every detail be exactly the same for basic approval. If your GML gives you a hard time about the boots, have them contact me. Frankly, given the work you've done on your costume thus far, I'm surprised you didn't just throw down for the right boots (Ardmoor runs 10% off sales all the time). But you're fine with the ones you have for basic.
  17. I've not seen something like that happen, not without heat being involved. But maybe the weight of the flight suit on that side pushed it down. You could try a hair dryer though Im not sure it would get hot enough. Boiling water is also an option, as Chopper said. I would invest in a heat gun though. They are inexpensive and come in handy for all sorts of things.
  18. Cool we don't stop people from doing what they want to do, we are just here to give advice as to what is going to be 501st approvable. The production helmets used decals and that's what we ask for.
  19. Did you try gently heating it with a heat gun?
  20. I think you're fine. You're right up to the line.
  21. Walt really needs to be explicit that his kit is for bigger people. If you remove some of the shoulder strap on the front and back that should help bring it up. There'a pic floating around with a test fitting of the Scout armor from 1982 and the person wearing the costume is not wearing the TD, so you can clearly see there is no clip. That leaves Velcro as the only alternative. Like I said, for basic you just need to make sure the clip does not show.
  22. Exactly what I did with mine. Carved out a section so that it could still be used to store things while filling out the pouch.
  23. For comparison against a screen used. Ignore the holster being on the wrong boot. No idea why that was done for the Costumes book. Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
  24. The pouches need to sit above the belt. You can fill them with foam. Walt's kit.... looks like it's too big for you. The chest armor is hanging too low. You might need to remove some shoulder strap so that it sits higher. The chest armor should only cover the pectoral area. Trim the shoulder bells as well, they are a bit too long. This will help bring the biceps up. It's not that the bund stripes are "dark", it's that there is enough batting inside the bund that the stitching is more apparent from a distance. The more batting, the more they will stand out. Same is true of the codpiece curb. Also.... looks like your belt is clipped in the back rather than closed with velcro. You need to make sure that clip does not sure. The TD should cover it completely.
  25. Yes. Fill in those gaps and just put a decal there.
