  1. It is with great sadness that we induct another member into the Halls of the Eternal Pathfinders. Shawn Chak (TB-7576@chakster) of Singapore Garrison became one with the Force on 25 April 2022. Shawn had the distinction of being the very first Biker Scout in Singapore Garrison. Buckets off. https://www.facebook.com/501stSingaporeGarrison/photos/a.185893734941880/1845972888933948/
  2. You still cover everything with the Crowprops boot as you would with regular hiking boots. He just colored his white. You would not leave any of the Crowprops boots exposed other than the soles.
  3. Hey Pathfinders! Today I would like to announce that Joe @MinimoMendoza has officially joined Pathfinders Command as our newest PR Officer! He is taking over for @Michael_Davis26019 who is stepping down. I want to thank Michael for his year of service as DPRO! All the cool stuff you saw on our IG and FB pages was courtesy of Mike! Most of you know Joe as one of our Shoretrooper armorers, and he will still be doing that. He has been a constant presence on our Virtual Armor parties and we are really glad to have him in this new role. So let's all give Minimo a big welcome!
  4. Level 2 requires 1.5. As long as you have 1.5, you are fine. No issues with the taper.
  5. Are you an approved Pathfinder? Do you love Facebook and Instagram? Can you write a pithy caption for photos? With proper spelling and grammar?? Then you might be who we need for the PR team! We are looking for a new PRO, specifically to post Pathfinder related photos to our Instagram and Facebook accounts. So images involving the following: New member approvals New Level 2 award recipients New CRLs and First-to-the-Legions Cool shots of Pathfinders at events And anything else that spreads the glory of our Detachment! Prior Legion PR experience is not necessarily required but an understanding of social media and how it works definitely is. If you live in a cabin in the woods with no internet and communicate by carrier pigeon, this may not be the position for you. But you probably can't see this post either! As a DPRO you become a member of Detachment Command, which enables you to purchase any official Detachment member merch offered by the Legion, and any special Command runs the Detachment may do (though with the limits in recent years this may not happen often). So if you are a social media maverick and are a bit of a self-starter (I don't want to have to walk you through your duties!) then please shoot me a PM and let's talk. Also, because of limits with our Instagram account, at this time we are only accepting applicants living in the United States. We have a PR officer overseas already and she has issues accessing some of our accounts.
  6. All good man, we were one step ahead of ya! http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/19926-recommended-shoretrooper-paints/
  7. Thank you for taking the time to do this! This will be a huge help to our 3d printed Shoretroopers!
  8. Any patterns can be found in the pinned posts. We don't have patterns for everything. But some things -- like the cummerbund, are pretty simple to do without a pattern. That one is just a rectangle.
  9. Hey An As we said in the video armor party, you have a great soft parts maker right there in Pomona, @Chrisx909x So if you go that route, you're in good hands You can obviously save money doing your own soft parts, and there are a variety of posts on the different garments in the Soft Parts section of the armory. Check out all of the pinned posts: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/145-biker-scout-soft-parts/ Simple garments such as the cummerbund or the codpiece are fairly easy to make yourself. And the undersuit basically involves buying some coveralls and then making alterations to them. The vest is a bit trickier but still possible to do on your own. As well as the boots. Only you know your level of skill and how best to weigh what is cheaper in the long run. I would try contacting Chris and seeing how much all those things would cost first, then go from there.
  10. Welcome Seb! Wow that's some great work you've done so far. A few folks have taken the plunge and made their own soft goods, but it's definitely not all that common. Good to see! @KOtrooper and @Minimo are our resident ST experts so they will be sure to weigh in. And I'm an L2 Shoretrooper Captain so I'll be happy to help where I can. Best of luck on your build. Looks like you've made a great start.
  11. Excellent, looking forward to this! Let me or @MrPoopie know if you have any questions. Maybe @heartstopper85 can help too if he checks in
  12. The best? Imperial Surplus, hands down. 850 is fine, but they bill themselves as budget armor. The accuracy is not going to be there.
  13. Like @Dart said, the best base boot to get if you want to make your own is Crowprops. His soles are replicas of the original Sierra Sneakers used in ROTJ, and they are white.
  14. Looking good! I would say don't get too fixated on the paint not being perfect. You're going to have to mess it all up anyway! Having imperfect paint jobs just adds to the weathering.
  15. The production Scouts had a hard hat liner. RS Props includes this setup in their helmets I think most of us, including myself, use helmet pads. Like most things it's a matter of preference. I found the hard hat liners gave me headaches so I removed mine and replaced it with helmet pads.
  16. They look good to me. As long as they largely in the same style they should be fine for Level 1.
  17. During the worst parts of the pandemic we were doing them quarterly. But with things opened back up and people doing in-person armor parties, we've done them less because fewer folks were showing up. We'll check in a few months and see what's what!
  18. I know Kropserkel is winding down their business, but maybe they have some shield material they can sell to you. Give them a shout: https://www.kropserkel.com/imperial.htm
  19. Same, I can't even get the vest on without some help. With a clip at least I can do it myself. That was the idea behind it in the first place.
  20. Yes the strap should be really long. I think the number one reason for cod crunchies is a strap that is too short. Mine is about 2 feet long and I really think it could be a few inches longer. The strap should not be pulling tightly across your groin area.
  21. The film suits used a regular slider. I did a parachute clip so that I could remove it easily, without having to lace the cod strap through the slider. Doesn't dig into my back though. I don't even realize it's there what with all the other layers I got on. And we don't mention it in the CRL because... it can't be seen! If it can't be seen from the outside, we don't regulate it.
  22. @MrPoopie has 3d sculpted some 3M bolts already. Maybe y'all can get together on that and make sure they fit this bucket!
