Happy 40th Anniversary, Scout Trooper!

I have talked to @MrPoopie about this, and we are discussing taking the So Cal speeder. Once he paints it back to the proper color! -
Happy 40th Anniversary, Scout Trooper!
BikerScout007 replied to BikerScout007's topic in Announcements
It's going to be tough because it is like....the middle of nowhere! But we'll try to find a spot that's convenient for the most amount of people. I mean, I'm sure most of you know this, but the film was shot on private property around trees that were clear cut after production. So we would only be getting close! There are some trees that I believe were filmed with the Steadicam for the speeder bike chase that are still there. -
It depends on a few things. What filament did you use, how many walls and what % infill? I printed my daughter's Mr. Paul kit in PETG with 2 walls and 10% infill and it's surprisingly pretty flexible. And she hasn't manage to break it yet! But if you do 4 walls, 20% and PLA -- might be a bit stiffer. You may want to reinforce the inside of it with fiberglass to keep it from breaking, but that will add to weight and overall stiffness. @MrPoopie -- any advice?

I think it looks excellent. And I agree there are a few fit and finish issues, but nothing major. Your shins don't look too bad to me. I'd work a bit more on weathering the soft goods. But definitely work with your Garrison's team -- they are the ones that clear you. Only real nit I have are the belt boxes. They should be fairly evenly spaced, including the ones that are attached to the rear belt plate. And the excess belt plate that you have wasn't there on the screen used. At least the suit I saw in 2016. You can see my album of photos from the LA Auto Show 2016 here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10209779093806853&type=3 Very nice job! Look forward to you joining the Detachment! @KOtrooper @Minimo -- any other advice for our friend?

Spray Paint color to match WTF white?!?
BikerScout007 replied to HokieScout24's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Most of us just use Rustoleum white. It's not a huge deal if your helmet and armor don't match perfectly. Especially if you are weathering. My helmet is an RS and my armor is Strider/CFO and there is a slight color variation that absolutely no one has noticed. Of if they have, they kept it to themselves -
WOOHOO! Congrats, Kris!!

Happy 40th Anniversary, Scout Trooper!

Been talking with someone native to the area and they suggested June as the best time to go -
Well as previously mentioned, the theme for this year will be the 40th Anniversary of "Return of the Jedi" and of course, the trooper that started it all for the Pathfinders: the ROTJ Scout Trooper! Every costume we have in this Detachment is an offshoot of this guy, so there is lots of cause to celebrate! Before anyone asks, YES THERE WILL BE MERCH. We are planning on patches, coins and a racing shirt based around this design. We also have several other things in the works, including a meet up in Northern California at the site of the film shoot. More details on that as we have them. In the meantime, enjoy our awesome 40th Anniversary Design by Pete Hague! We want everyone to get hyped for this year!

All good. This stuff isn't exactly rocket science!

That was me, y'all. Just want to avoid the Rebel pilot look with the thigh straps. Ours go straight across largely, but we all know they were meant to hold the thigh armor at one point.

Hey Pathfinders family On behalf of Pathfinders command, I would like to wish you all a safe and happy New Year! We hope that 2022 has been a good year for you on the forum, whether you are building your first armor, just getting approved, or an old vet helping add a new Pathfinder to the ranks. 2023 is a big year for the Pathfinders as it marks the 40th anniversary of "Return of the Jedi" and the granddaddy of this Detachment, the Biker Scout. Expect 40th anniversary merch and other activities throughout the year. I was looking forward to meeting new Pathfinders at Celebration this year, but sadly real life has gotten in the way and that no longer seems possible. But we will have plenty of Pathfinders family on hand to make a good showing! Happy New Year 2023!

Very nice!

Ideally the pouch should fit squarely on the bund from top to bottom, including the attachment tab. The attachment tab should be about 2 inches in height, so that's plenty of room to go under your chest armor. The remaining 6-7 inches will be seen from the outside, and should pretty much rest on top of the belt.
-
Well I don't know about that, but it is a very simple garment to make. My example was for the one I made for my daughter, but the technique is the same. Just make sure you make it 8-9 inches in high so that you can attach the pouches by the tab and the bottoms of them line up with the bottom of the bund!

VC_Trooper's 3D Printed Patrol Trooper Build

Well done! That's beautiful. Yes, the jackets are a real pain due to ArmoryShop being out of the picture. @MrPoopie had to make his own as well -
Fibo's Scout from Mando
BikerScout007 replied to Fibo's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" WIP
It's a WTF kit and those kits don't have them. But the screen shot I posted above also shows no indent. -
Fibo's Scout from Mando
BikerScout007 replied to Fibo's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" WIP
best shot we have of the tank topper is here: So that indent next to the dial should be filled in. Also you are missing the round greeblie that goes inside that large hole on the left. It's the same round greeblie that's found on the TD. You can see it on the ROTJ Scout here: The ROTJ tanks were affixed to the back with an elastic strap for the film. This was not done for "The Mandalorian". They appeared to be glued together or at least, permanently connected in some manner. You may be able to rivet it all together using the rivet that goes through the tank topper. Just depends on your kit. E6000 always works! -
Bienvenidos! That looks great! Thanks for sharing. @Jakeputt -- check this out.

Later on down in that thread they discuss getting the paints in Canada!

Some of this topic was addressed in this post: Hopefully the info is still current!

The color choices were decided on based on this shot where the armor is actually in bright sunlight, and not the shadowy lighting of the selection screen:

We decided to go with this one: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Kashyyyk_Officer
