I picked up the same stuff last weekend. Just a shiny polyester. I'm gonna see how it turns out.

Pouches do look a tad large but it may help to stuff them with something that looks a little more natural so they don't look like perfect boxes. Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk

How rectangular they are depends very much on what is stuffing them. The film scout above with the very rectangular pouches just seems to have a lot of stuffing stretching it out. I don't think the pouches are square. They definitely seem taller than they are wider, but it's not that much.

I do it like in the film. Those guys knew what they were doing! Zipties "T-strap" between the bell and the shoulder bridge and then a very thin elastic strap inside the bell to hold it to my arm.

Bought gloves from ebay. Are these basic approved?

You are good to go with those. I don't really see anything holding them up from Lancer either. -
Nice and neat, Scout!

Dauitsch´s pre-submission shooting

Looks good for basic! For Lancer, your cummerbund should be up a little higher. You can see a gap between it and the armor straps in the side shots. It would help if your pouches had longer attachment tabs to affix them to the bund. Maybe an inch or two. I would loosen the codpiece strap a bit so it doesn't bunch up between your legs. Looks good! -
This. There's not really a need for fans with those giant ear holes and the channel in the back of the helmet for air ventilation

Left one looks way better to me. Nice and short and stops right at the belt. Just like in the movie. Good job!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005I2YJPM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Drop the speaker in a pouch and run the wire under your vest up to your helmet. Scouts don't have static burst so no need for any kind of enhancements

E-11s Sniper Rifle addition to the CRL.
BikerScout007 replied to Chef's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
There is definitely plenty of video game only material out there. The question with the Scout carrying the rifle has come down to canon-appearance vs. non-canon appearance. For some events, we can only be LFL canon, which up to this point has meant film canon (ie, holdout blaster only). Before Disney, all Star Wars material was rated at different levels of canon, with the movies being the highest. After Disney, there is only one level of canon. It's the eight films, the Clone Wars TV series, and everything created since Disney's acquisition (Rebels, the Marvel comics, Aftermath etc). This also includes the latest Battlefront game. So arguably, the only canon Scout rifle would be the DLT-20a. Therefore there is a good case to be made that that should be the one included on the CRL. And then any other rifle, like the DLT-19, would be fine for non-canon appearances. But this is all minutiae that probably doesn't matter to the fans. I know a lot of children whose only knowledge of the Scout Trooper is through Battlefront love seeing the sniper rifles, and I have been getting called "Sniper Scout" a lot since the game's release. I'm fine with my holdout blaster though -
Advance Recon Team (ART) discussion

Awesome! That's exactly what is needed -
Shaun, Constantin and I have created a circle of OCD about this costume. hahahaha

A lot of us have suspected it was something along those lines. But duck cloth still seems to be the favorite of most bund makers!

Several Questions concerning the "soft" armor.
BikerScout007 replied to TB-1599's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
1. Just under the bottom edge of the armor and should end right at the belt. When the belt is worn on your WAIST (aka, across your belly button, not down at your hips like pants are worn today) 2. Max's Sci Fi attaches the codpiece to the vest. Did you ask them not to? I have theirs and I wash them together all the time. 3. Absolutely. As long as it doesn't show you can attach and affix anyway you see fit 4. The cummerbund goes over everything. It's basically a garment about 9-10 inches high that holds the pouches. 4a. I think it's fine to fold it. 5. Since the part that attaches is not seen, you can attach it with velcro is you want to remove for washing. Mine is sewn to my suit and I wash it all the time. This stuff is supposed to look beat up 6. I think most of us just use the natural edge of the pigskin 7. The movie scouts used 4 patches, 2 for each leg. A lot of people just use 2, but no one has really nailed down a great pattern for it. Hopefully this photo is a good guide for all your questions: -
