  1. With a careful application of heat you can put the dimples on your current bolts
  2. Hahaha way overboard. You just needed it right behind the earholes. The bolts need more of the "dimple". Like this Scout's
  3. Not sure. This is the stuff I got: https://www.amazon.com/Duck-Masking-240877-Black-94-Inch/dp/B00TOW5Y88/ref=sr_1_1?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1491623841&sr=1-1&keywords=black+painters+tape
  4. Gaffer tape is easy to find just a bit pricier. But that's what was used in the movie Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
  5. I didn't either until I found some. I dont know if they have it at Home Depot, I got mine at Hobby Lobby
  6. http://www.theclip.com/store/Metal-belt-clip-661-Tempered-Belt-Clip.html
  7. I wouldn't use duct tape. It leaves a sticky residue that's a pain to remove. The film scouts used gaffer's tape. In my own helmet I used black painters tape, because like gaffer's tape, it doesn't leave residue but it's MUCH cheaper
  8. This is one of the most requested things in the forum and unfortunately we don't have one yet. But there are several threads where people post photos of different stages of the build. I know that's not that easy to pare through but it's better than nothing. You may want to reach out to SC and see if they have instructions they can send you. There isn't a whole lot to it but you definitely don't want to make a mistake.
  9. They seem to be single layered based off the photos, but we don't know what the exact material was used to make them They are sewn on in the film, but for Lancer we just ask that they have "the appearance" of being attached to the bund. Which means you can velcro them to the bund, or velcro them to the bund AND the chest armor if that helps.
  10. You can see the tab on that picture of the Scout I posted above. Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
  11. Pouches look good. There is supposed to be a tab that is sewn to the back of the pouch that attaches to the bund. Either by sewing it to the bund or use velcro Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
  12. I used some heavy duty elastic for that. Stuff that looked like an Ace bandage. It seems very thin and elasticy in the movie. Not like the cotton webbing for the belt.
  13. I wish I had a picture but I'm at work. Basically the strap connects from the back, passes through the dropbox, and then goes into the center piece on the belt. The piece is then FOLDED at a roughly 90 degree angle and then threaded back out of the center piece. It's fed through the other dropbox and then finally attached to the back on the other side. I hope that makes sense
  14. If you want screen accurate it is one strap all the way through, with the ends connected to the belt in the back! How you do it is up to you, as the connection is hidden by the TD
  15. Funny enough we are addressing the pouches right now We took away the requirement for no stitching on the velcro attachment piece, but we do want Lancer applicants to keep the stitching very light. It should not be obvious from a distance, as in the film. The CRL is referring only to the edge of the pouches themselves: "There is no visible external edge stitching on the cod or pouch flaps."
  16. You would be correct in thinking that. It's my one real pet peeve about the SC helmet, other than its smaller size. The better looking ones are the ones where the scout cut the visor area bigger. As for ideas how to do it, check this thread out: http://forum.bikersc...l=&fromsearch=1
  17. SC is probably the fastest in the business. You won't be waiting long!
  18. Magnets, my boy, magnets! My KS seemed to stay open pretty well on its own. I think this was due to the fact that the "bolts" were rivets and thus the two pieces of plastic are very close together, causing enough friction for it to not fall down My RS Props lid has ridges on the helmet and faceplate that allow it to "lock" in place. You actually have to apply a modicum of force to close the faceplate. But magnets are probably your best bet
  19. The chest piece thing is another issue but one that most of us can't really rectify other than to cut the shoulder straps shorter. Many of the armor makers make the chest pieces too big. I have SC armor and it is definitely guilty of this. The pouches of the movie scouts seem to start at the outer edge of the armor. We tend to line ours up with the bund ribs. But with the film scouts, the pouches don't even touch the outer ribs because of where they sit. And their smaller size.
  20. Totally making sense and that's probably a good idea. Although I would be interested to see how pouches with your original measurements came out
  21. Dang I dunno if anyone would have noticed that if you hadn't pointed it out If it's a problem a little bondo should fix it up!
  22. Since you are in the Great White North you may want to get in touch with Dart http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showuser=15056
