  1. This is one of the most requested things in the forum and unfortunately we don't have one yet. But there are several threads where people post photos of different stages of the build. I know that's not that easy to pare through but it's better than nothing. You may want to reach out to SC and see if they have instructions they can send you. There isn't a whole lot to it but you definitely don't want to make a mistake.
  2. They seem to be single layered based off the photos, but we don't know what the exact material was used to make them They are sewn on in the film, but for Lancer we just ask that they have "the appearance" of being attached to the bund. Which means you can velcro them to the bund, or velcro them to the bund AND the chest armor if that helps.
  3. You can see the tab on that picture of the Scout I posted above. Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
  4. Pouches look good. There is supposed to be a tab that is sewn to the back of the pouch that attaches to the bund. Either by sewing it to the bund or use velcro Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
  5. I used some heavy duty elastic for that. Stuff that looked like an Ace bandage. It seems very thin and elasticy in the movie. Not like the cotton webbing for the belt.
  6. I wish I had a picture but I'm at work. Basically the strap connects from the back, passes through the dropbox, and then goes into the center piece on the belt. The piece is then FOLDED at a roughly 90 degree angle and then threaded back out of the center piece. It's fed through the other dropbox and then finally attached to the back on the other side. I hope that makes sense
  7. If you want screen accurate it is one strap all the way through, with the ends connected to the belt in the back! How you do it is up to you, as the connection is hidden by the TD
  8. Funny enough we are addressing the pouches right now We took away the requirement for no stitching on the velcro attachment piece, but we do want Lancer applicants to keep the stitching very light. It should not be obvious from a distance, as in the film. The CRL is referring only to the edge of the pouches themselves: "There is no visible external edge stitching on the cod or pouch flaps."
  9. You would be correct in thinking that. It's my one real pet peeve about the SC helmet, other than its smaller size. The better looking ones are the ones where the scout cut the visor area bigger. As for ideas how to do it, check this thread out: http://forum.bikersc...l=&fromsearch=1
  10. SC is probably the fastest in the business. You won't be waiting long!
  11. Magnets, my boy, magnets! My KS seemed to stay open pretty well on its own. I think this was due to the fact that the "bolts" were rivets and thus the two pieces of plastic are very close together, causing enough friction for it to not fall down My RS Props lid has ridges on the helmet and faceplate that allow it to "lock" in place. You actually have to apply a modicum of force to close the faceplate. But magnets are probably your best bet
  12. The chest piece thing is another issue but one that most of us can't really rectify other than to cut the shoulder straps shorter. Many of the armor makers make the chest pieces too big. I have SC armor and it is definitely guilty of this. The pouches of the movie scouts seem to start at the outer edge of the armor. We tend to line ours up with the bund ribs. But with the film scouts, the pouches don't even touch the outer ribs because of where they sit. And their smaller size.
  13. Totally making sense and that's probably a good idea. Although I would be interested to see how pouches with your original measurements came out
  14. Dang I dunno if anyone would have noticed that if you hadn't pointed it out If it's a problem a little bondo should fix it up!
  15. Since you are in the Great White North you may want to get in touch with Dart http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showuser=15056
  16. Added you to the roster, buddy!
  17. If it's hidden by the TD and you can't see them, I imagine you can use whatever you would like. Nothing more than rivets and velcro are needed though!
  18. You mean the rivets? I used the same 1/8 rivets anywhere riveting was needed on this costume
  19. Well I am a scant 6'0, my pouches are 6 inches tall..... and I still think they look too big. That's me in the middle. The fellows to my left and right have the 7 inch boxes and they look oversized. I'm going to try 5.5 inch pouches next and see if they look more accurate. I'm also going to grab a measurement off Gino's scout when I see it at Celebration. The pouches used in the film just seem to take up much less real estate on the cummerbund than the ones we make. When lined up against the outer edge of the chest armor, they don't even touch the outer ribs of the cummerbund. So either our pouches are too wide, armor is too narrow, or bund ribs are too wide.
  20. I think the pouches are a bit rectangular. So maybe 6 x 5.5 x 2. All I know is the vast majority if Scouts out there have pouches that are way too big and it's funny how many err on the side of being too big rather than too small. I think a lot of comes from wearing the armor wrong. The belt should be on your waist (so across your belly button) and the chest armor should be worn up high. Pouches should pretty much fit in that gap. Note the cummerbund is not much bigger than the pouches.
  21. Reduce them in size. 7 inches is too big. I would do 6.
  22. It is one strap all the way through. Attached to the belt in the back.
  23. I agree. 7 is too big. It's either 6 or 5.5
  24. It's not any one particular armor maker, most sets have this same issue. The only one I've seen that comes close is Strider's
  25. Pouch size looks good, although it's on the wrong side You may want to make the angles sharper on the bottom portion of your codpiece. And this picture is a great example of how much the armor makers need to redo their chest pieces and make them smaller. That would solve most of our problems with soft goods placement.
