I'm not sure you'd be able to find a pre-existing glove on the market close enough to the Scout glove to mod. We probably would have discovered it already! You may want to contact Wampa Wear or Sith Armory and see if they can do a special order for you. I'm assuming you are doing this for ethical reasons and not to save money?

The Scout is a very forgiving build! You can make it work
-
Like I said, it doesnt matter for 99.999% of the troops out there and there are plenty of times I troop with Vaders who are shorter than me. I just stoop down a little bit when taking pics with them

Hmm we may be talking about different things here. Disney/LFL has special high profile events that they literally cast for. If you are interested in participating in one you have to go to them to get put into their database. Height and weight are things they factor in and they would never allow a Scout who was the same height as a Vader. But you are talking probably .001% of all troops so it wouldn't affect most of us
-
The only time that may be a problem is if you were doing some LFL troop where they wanted screen accurate characters. But I gotta chime in with the rest here, if I had that height I would be going for Vader or Chewie!

I know you will push him to do the right thing

I can 100% vouch for this. Gino has always been as generous with info as he can, within reason I and a few of the others have seen his pics and they were eye-opening

Looks like you are good to go for Basic! If you are interested in Lancer there are a few things to tidy up but you are well on your way!

What took me the longest was dying the gloves. Especially since the palms and fingers were so faded. Removing the zippers and straps was pretty easy but I took my time with the Exacto knife. It's not like I could just grab another pair if something went wrong!

Okay made the mods! Couldn't wait to dig into them. Here are the befores: As you can see the gloves are pretty beat up and faded. So the first thing I did was hit them with some Fiebing's Leather Color in black to color the suede and polish up the faded parts. After that, I took an Exacto knife and CAREFULLY removed the zippers and straps. Ready to troop!

Sounds like a good problem to have hahaha. But i will keep my eyes out for 13s! Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk

Here's 3 members that do that off the top of my head! http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showuser=75917 http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showuser=80932 http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showuser=78307

Make sure you hit the trade forum. All kinds of goodies to be found there

That is solid parenting!

You find some 12s let me know!
-
The search continues! The problem is my size 12 foot limits my choices a great deal. I went through this finding the proper Indiana Jones boots. It seems like everyone in the world is a size 10!
-
And yes, I agree WW looks really good! I think if they really wanted to step it up they could make the false zipper area look more like there was a zipper there at one time, but overall very good!

These things are pretty shabby so I am going to mod away!
-
Bought off of eBay last week. They are rough but that's okay, Scouts aren't supposed to be polished. EDIT: I lost access to the original photos due to photobucketpocalypse. Here's a collage I made showing how I restored and modded the gloves for trooping!

Painting required on some kits?
BikerScout007 replied to TK-41015's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
The most popular kits do not. The only reason you might want to where there is a mismatch between the armor color and the helmet color. -
Cool, good luck with your build. And if you want to reach out to local Pathfinders for build tips, please request to join https://www.facebook.com/groups/1491559237815157/

Yup that works. I suppose you could just paint the black parts that show but that seems like it would be more time consuming

The cod strap should definitely be loose enough that you can walk! I made mine adjustable
