Long time Cadet finally obtaining my SC Kit
Jakeputt replied to Jakeputt's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
I found out my pouches are too long, wide and deep. Can someone send me a good pouch building thread? Mickey indicated 6 x 5 x 2. Mine are 7 x 6 x 2.3 -

So I chose to paint up my armor. I don't like being clean, I want to be one of the select few who looks like I've been through battle. What do you guys think? -

Working on my Thermal Detonators I was pleasantly surprised to find some corrugated pipe at the local hardware store that fit perfect inside the pipe supplied to me from Studio Creations. I wanted the pipe to adhere to a greater surface area, more than just the ends. I think these will work perfectly. I first glued the smaller pipe onto the end caps with E6000, and let that sit for a couple hours then I covered the sides of the smaller pipe with the same stuff completely and slid them right into the SC housings fits perfect. Now to let the glue cure. -

since your going for lancer let me add: ~ adjust your flak vest arms -- they are to long. 1 or 2" past the shoulder bell is all you need for the flak vest arm length ~ elbow armor needs to come up too IS there a place where I can see all of the images I will want to compile to submit into the Lancer team? -

I liked the feedback of the drop boxes and belt need to be straight from left to right. What other angle issues and straight edge details do I need to know about taking the pics? -

Along with pictures here I have also been posting pictures on Facebook to my local garrison. What kind of pictures will I be taking for final approval? -

Those can be corrected by just shifting the objects to sit better it seems. I plan on attaching Velcro to the front of the belt to get it to stay where it needs too. I also think I want to attach some on the back as well to get the back to stay where it needs too. I should've had someone attach the belt in the back. It seems like when I attach it I have more problems with the drooping. -

Can you explain what all the velcro attachments are on your vest? You have quite a few Velcro attachments on there. -

Hey friendly neighborhood Scouts! Tis I again. After getting the positive feedback from the one side on my belt I decided to adjust the other side and solidify it. Then I took the excess material from the belt and made the side connections. I brought elastic around the back inside of the suite to give me a little flexibility when attaching the to pieces together. This has been such an amazing learning experience for me and I love that I am able to express myself artistically through the process. The reason why I feel like I want to go Lancer is because I love all the little detail. I actually went to school for art and even though my house is a complete mess, whenever I am creating artwork I feel like it has to be perfect. This is artwork I can wear! Sorry, got off on a tangent. Let me know what you guys think of what I've done in these pics. I know that the belt is a little off. When I get my new cummerbund and codpiece created I will put some velcro on the back of the belt to stick it onto whichever piece it connects too to lessen the sag in the back and the front going off to one side. Thanks again for everything in this entire process, I live in a rural community and it takes me an hour to get to any civilization so all your feedback has been EXTREMELY welcome in the entire process. -

Does it attach on the inside or outside? From previous pics in this thread, the codpiece attached on the inside. -

So does the cummerbund attach to the inside of the flak vest or how does it attach? I really want to get rid of my suspenders. -

A little updated pics, after a little adjusting everything seems to be fitting a little better. The belt feels better I've been comparing my connections with the CRL image and it looks very similar to the image. I can still adjust the drop boxes I would like to finish up that belt pretty soon. All I have left of the thermal detonator is the caps and zip tying the black belt clip onto either end of the device. Do the clips go on the very ends just before the end caps? Also I got some white connectors that can slide over the belt from Studio Creations I might use those as hidden connectors inside of the box itself. But from what I have found out those black connectors do a pretty awesome job at keeping the bomb where it needs to be held at. What are your thoughts on the images? I am eager to finish riveting the drop boxes down so I can cut off that excess white overhang to use for either side of the armor. I am also thinking of cutting it in half and putting elastic in the middle of it, an idea I received from one of the scouts that has been helping me here. I honestly couldn't have made it this far without all your help. I appreciate all of you. I will still be redoing the cummerbund and cod piece with foam material which was suggested earlier in this thread. That is probably a couple weeks away before I can finish that part. I honestly feel awesome in the armor, it's great to be a scout! -

Sorry, I think I was a little vague with that last post. I feel as though the front and back armor still don't align properly. I am wondering if I'm supposed to have that much gap between pieces and I am also concerned about the shoulder bell on the left side of the image or my right side not sitting right. I decided to go zip tie for the attachment. -

Please help me understand where I need to make adjustments. I really need to get the velcro into each of the different parts so that they stay where they are supposed too. Especially the forearms and the biceps. I will probably be working on the knee's as well. I am just waiting to get the elastic in. -

How does the spacing between the thigh box and the belt look? If I bring the straps in about 2 or 3" and then rivet do you think that will work? -

I am wanting to finish up my belt. The location where the straps are pinned are where I am going to rivet. Question is, Are the thigh boxes in the right place?
