Long time Cadet finally obtaining my SC Kit
Jakeputt replied to Jakeputt's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
I really like how the paint scheme is on these. I like how the hot toys biker scout has the tan-ish color in the crevices of the different parts they almost look like a brown wash in the crevices, Around the visor, in the indents of the chest piece and the knees. It looks weathered but a subtle weathering. I also like the blaster marks of the other scout. I am wondering if combining the two paint schemes will be too much and be considered too much weathering. -

In the gluing process I have a bit of crazy excess hanging out the sides of the area. What is a good way to clean that stuff up? Will the tank top greeblie be up to Lancer standard the way it is? -

This is how my tank topper came from SC. Will I need to alter it. I have never seen pics of the circle greeblie attached to the rest of the topper. Will it be ok just to glue it as is? -

Got myself a heavy duty Riveter! I was looking in the CRL for specific rivet sizes needed for the different sections that required them but there doesn't seem to have any indication of size of rivet in anything I look at. What are your suggestions for size of rivet for the tank, the knee pieces, the belt and the boot holster? Also apparently E6000 vapors may cause cancer!!!! Thats some serious crap I'm dealing with. Obviously I want to be doing all this outside. Does this also mean that the curing process will want to be outside as well? Or maybe just open all the windows in the house while I am trying to glue things down. -

What about the greeblie on the top of the tank? Does that go right against the back armor or does it get attached in the middle of the tank? -

a guy in my garrison suggested that I use a rat tail file. I've used it a little bit and it seems to be going very well. -

Does the flush make a difference with Lancer Status? I am also concerned about the greeblie on top of the tank. Does it go right against the back of the armor or does it go closer to the middle of the top. I have seen it put on both ways. Once again thanks for all your help. -

When I put the tank against the back armor there is a small gap between the two pieces? Do I adjust the tank to make it flush better against the armor or do I leave it as is and allow for the gaps? -

Kay, this might be a really dumb question. But I am wondering, Do I fold the elastic into itself and sew it or do I cut the holes open wider? This is my first time doing this and I want to make sure that im doing things right. -

I've got E6000, dry fit simply means make sure that it will fit in its spot before gluing it down, correct? -

I picked up some stickers for the tank that look rather long for it. I've seen images where the black lines on the tank are flush against either side of the central bump and others that are further away from that bump. Sc as you know has a molded bump on their tank. Should I just use their indentation as a guide? -

So the 1.25" is the circumfrance of the tube? I know tons of questions. I appreciate all your help. I am also curious about what grit of sandpaper I should look into to sand down the edges. -

Can I detach the cod and reattach via Velcro onto the cummerbund instead of the vest? Also with the bicep pieces it indicates that the TBIT DETAIL piece must face forward on each arm. I also got a thin u shaped piece that it indicates need to be wrapped around the TBIT, through holes in the plastic and tied behind. Can you describe that process a little more? I don't see that thin u shaped piece anywhere on the crl. -

The reason I say it will go up slightly is because I haven't put the straps on the back, I'm sure that the tension will cause the armor to raise up a little more.
