  1. But In case this helps here are some quick measurement pics - note the first skinny one on the outside has a slight taper - outside left sole Outside left sole again Back of heel Inside of left heel- not the same as outside
  2. I think making a reproduction sole would be tough unless it was for a set already existing boot. I did see that boot resoling companies make a front section and a rear section (heel). So maybe trying to making 2pieces would work? This pair is just sitting next to my Boba Fett boots ( which I need to dye white) for now. I will prob make it a fall/winter project.
  3. I don't believe any of them come with electronics other than the Kenner one. I thought you weren't allowed to have any lights or noises per the CRL but just double checked and there isn't anything about that so I guess you could.
  4. Here is my Negative Eleven (top)next to my Hyperfirm (bottom). The Negative Eleven is larger and may be something you want to consider if you have big hands. The Negative Eleven on weighs 1lb 3ozs and the Hyperfirm weighs 10.7 ozs. Photos for comparison only, both are nice pieces and I was happy with the service from both sellers. People ( especially kids ) love the Negative Eleven at shows ( haven't had the Hyperfirm out yet).
  5. You do want to be careful with the upper part of the boots using the template. Not everyone has the same calf size and distance from calf to knee can vary as well. Make a test template out of paper and see how that will fit on you while wearing the boot itself and your knee armor before cutting the material
  6. I will try and post a pic of the Altmanns on my head along with measurements for you to compare against... Just have to find a helper to take the pics with a tape measure from my chin to top of my head
  7. While I have never purchased anything from KS there are enough negative experiences posted here that kept me away. I bought SC armor and an SC helmet - excellent service and products. I also have an Altmanns helmet now which is nice as well. There are some members here who can help you with the soft parts you need as well.
  8. I will try that this afternoon Chef !!! Thanks!!!
  9. Hahah. I have plenty of scraps so I am going to practice till I get it right. Have to redo the Velcro on my belt anyway - having a single stitch line and pulling on it caused it to tear.
  10. Thanks for all the tips! It is a Singer Esteem 2 .. Here is what the stitching on the upper part of my boots looks like. I think the thread is a bit thin on this so I now have thicker thread to use. I think the spacing here will work for the dog bone , just need to practice making it curve ( pedal control needs work. )
  11. I am gonna run some scraps thru the machine tomorrow while putting tape over the paw thing that pulls the fabric thru so I have more control. I think I can get the distance between holes correct with it since I sewed the uppers .. It if just trying to get the arc that is tough. I will try putting one thru upside down with the line drawn on it to guide me.
  12. I use snaps on my belt ( and for my bund now) but my T straps are all Velcro
  13. Here is a pic ... Be gentle on the judging lol. I quit boy scouts before we got to sewing
  14. I just tried to hand sew this ( first time hand sewing ) and got the arch right but I really don't think I can get the spacing inbetween each stitch correct ... They are pretty tight on the reference pics. How does everyone do theirs? I have a sewing machine but it pulls it in too quick and guides it in a straight line. Should I just run the pedal in short bursts and manually kinda turn the material through?
  15. He is taking care of mine as well. Always excellent customer service with him.
  16. I just got mine yesterday but didn't open them yet- just opened them when I saw this and mine are the same way- these are not like the ones I got from them before either. Ugh.
  17. Sorry about that Chef - I had seen your prior note and was just going to hold off till I got better pics done. I will try and add some clearer ones along with it on my head to show the differences Thanks Griffin- mine is 205
  18. Yea I knew they weren't the right ones when I bought them. Figured they were close enough and don't come up for sale very often so I got them. They actually fit me ( are a bit small) but I want to look into options for replicating the soles ( and at that point could add a line ). Obviously others have them and have had the same thought but it doesn't hurt to look into some options. Worst case they become my new boots lol. I don't have any scans or anything yet not any software to do anything like that. I can give anyone whatever pictures they want tho. Was thinking maybe making some kind of outer piece to glue onto regular boots or something or asking a shoe repair guy what it would cost to resole boots if I could somehow make these soles
  19. I made a quick post with some measurements. I will take better ones this weekend with better lighting
  20. the lighting in my house sucks so I will try and take some with outdoor lighting this weekend ( as well as with a metric tape measure ). Although the numbers are close the Altmanns is def bigger on my head .. Here are some photos till I do them right . The SC is the white /padded one
  21. I will take pictures of the Altmanns vs SC tonight from all angles with a tape measure.
  22. Looks great! Which dremel bit did you use on the soles and did you machine stitch the lines on the dog bone? When I have tried to machine stitch the dog bone I can never get the arch right ( last thing I need to do)
  23. SC is great armor and Ammonites had posted a link a couple posts above ... Excellent service as well
  24. I put snaps on my flightsuit since at the time I wasn't wearing my vest and will put the snaps on the vest as well. I just went with snaps vs Velcro since my sewing skills aren't the best. My bund didn't budge after several hours of walking and squatting and stuff
