  1. That's what I thought when I saw fiberglass. Shame cause CB stuff is pretty nice.. Hope it goes ok as well.
  2. You can get Lancer with SC... Who are you getting your helmet from. And as everyone else says MC is nice but if you can't actually get it what good is it? SC stuff is nice and honestly unless another Scout is judging you most people won't even notice the " imperfections". I have SC stuff and love it since it hasn't turned yellow and I can actually wear it vs bragging about how accurate it will be in 2 years when another armor may get here.
  3. I just put both arms above my head and pull it down over me. I have my knee and boots on first though as my bund. It have enough stretch in it but it is tight. The wide side is Velcrod on so I guess I could disconnect it if I wanted . The short side is folded over and can't pull out of the side ( hopefully).
  4. The Altmanns should only need stickers and bolts I think to be approved. I have seen some approved helmets with the same style bolts at the Altmanns tho. Always best to ask the person in charge of approving you tho.
  5. I don't have a KS, and while there are some positive reviews here , the negative experiences of many would keep me from ever doing business with them. I don't know that any available preassembled helmets are 501st ready. Maybe the prebuilt SC one is but I bought my SC and put it together upgrading the bolts and the decals with ones from Trooperbay. I'm not approved yet but I am pretty sure it would pass. I have since went with an Altmanns which I love. The SC is smaller and lighter but I have been using my Altmanns since I got it. There are other high quality helmets like LW ( which seems near impossible to get ) and I believe Chef makes one as well.
  6. My scout doesn't fog even in a wide variety of temps/humidities. I have the ears cut out and the lense is not 100% sealed leaving room for air to get in and out.
  7. I walked around for 4 hours on Sunday with it in my SC holster and no magnet and it stayed in my holster perfectly
  8. I am doing a Supertrooper. The flightsuit I bought is a 2 piece one made in white. Have almost all my parts to start assembling it - helmet will be here Monday and armor won't be here till October but it is Bobamaker so I am ok with waiting. I want to take both my flight suits to a local tailor and see if they can make me another light weight scout one. May cut up my Redkap and try it myself but I don't know if I can sew the zipper in.
  9. Looks good!! Congrats on the approval !
  10. That suit did look good Nomad... I don't like the weight of the Redkap as well - especially on 90 degree +days. The material CB made his suits out of was much lighter. I recently purchased a boba Fett flight suit ( all white) which is really light. Shame there aren't more black options available
  11. I had a resin blaster and my hyperfirm with me all last weekend. Second day the resin one stayed in the car. The hyperfirm is just light and " regular" people can't tell the difference. Plus when I let little kids hold it I had zero worries of them breaking it like others had to ...DVH also sells a rubber one that is nice. Here is the hyperfirm link http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=14084&pid=125056&st=0entry125056
  12. Which is exactly why RS should be at the top of the page with CB
  13. I don't know that boycotting them would work or is really the right thing to do. If someone is willing to give someone money for something that doesn't exist in the hopes of getting it one day , that is their choice. There is a heading at the top of the page though and only one vendor is listed when in all fairness there should be SEVERAL vendors - most who are legit actual businesses listed in order to protect the community here - especially new people.
  14. As with everything in life it is the buyers money for them to do with as they please, so if they are ok with waiting and being lied to it really isn't something I can have a problem with. It stinks when people are new and get excited and start buying from big names without researching them for possible issues. The vendors should just be honest and say " you will get it when we feel like making it". I am going to stick with supporting vendors who actually have products to sell, can take 30 seconds to answer an email with my concerns on where my hundreds of $$ of stuff is and don't lie.
  15. I will take pics of the back side for you tomorrow
  16. Looks like it would work ... Maybe try and lay it on and heat it before taking the backing off ( like when you tint windows)
  17. Here is a pic of my crotch..
  18. I don't understand how it is remotely acceptable to sell a product and then blow people off for a year or 3 years. Make the product and then sell it. If you have such a huge demand make more molds and hire more staff. The profit margin for the helmets must be huge considering material costs and actual work time. If waiting a year or 2 is the norm for this hobby we should really take CB off the problem vendor list at the top of this page. He is just conforming to the accepted norm right?
  19. Looks like it is coming along really well!
  20. It was still all floppy... I washed them inside out as well so they wouldn't get caught on anything. I cut them off so I could wear it tonight. I will figure a way to sew new ones in I guess and just hand wash it from now on.
  21. Cause this is what mine looks like after washed cold and hung to dry Pissed off doesn't begin to relay my mood as I try to go out for Force Friday
  22. The original boots were made by Hi-Tec ... Like these
  23. Think the price of the boots - they have a new boot thread started
  24. The bigger issue is the 2 tone sole.
  25. I am very happy with the fit and quality of mine as well as the service provided by the seller!
