There are a lot of pics in the reference photos sections here of what the original boots looked like but here is a quick one-
-
I think the cuts vary from build to build since sole size varied as well. I tried to make a stencil from blown up images of real boots but that didn't work out too well. Having a set of real boots now, I think trying to duplicate the exact cut would be tough. Some people cut just the backs , others do the front and back- depends on how comfortable you are with your trimming skills. I think the sole material makes a huge difference. The cheap hard plastic soles look better after cut. I used Timberlands with a gummy sole and each cut I made made like white/clear pulled/thin edges.

It looks good! It is tighter than mine and tighter than a lot you will see.
-
My SC armor came with instructions- I used them in conjunction with Pandatroopers build and a bunch of other builds that people posted. The arm and knees are just sanding/fitting /strapping. The belt can be done. A couple ways.

I use an underarmor one - you can have your mouth/nose exposed if you just pull the front piece down. I love it compared to the cheaper eye opening only one I had for my Resident Evil costume

Screen lineage 3D printed helmet?
01Hawk replied to Oberkisstillalive's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
A 3D printed Fett helmet is $420 in the cheapest material which wouldn't be ideal. Seems like there are a lot of Daft Punk helmets on there so I am sure a scout could be done - many are over $1k tho -
Screen lineage 3D printed helmet?
01Hawk replied to Oberkisstillalive's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I can't imagine what a high quality print of a helmet would cost. I do know that I have been buying various Shapeways printed parts for my Fett and even little things printed in the best material are expensive - not so much in the lower quality materials - but you can tell the difference. -
I have an SC and an Altmanns. I like them both.
-
If you are looking for something already put together - I think the Altmanns is very nice.
-
Can you post a picture of the bottom with the rest of the tank lined up correctly? It is supposed to be a rivet and as Long as the hole on the back plate isn't exposed you should be able to just make a new hole.
-
Can you slide it up a little ? Looks like if it was moved up a bit it would fit perfect.
-
That looks like a StarFortress helmet. If you search them you will find tons of negative posts. The shape of the helmet is wrong in many places.

My armor is here! A little overwhelmed atm
01Hawk replied to Oberkisstillalive's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I was intimidated by the sewing aspect of things but started out practicing making the straps. I bought a bunch of extra materials from Joann fabrics and just practiced till I was able to make them. My stitch work won't win me any awards but I was glad I learned how to do it. I used the industrial Velcro ( had s picture of fire extinguisher hanging up on it) for all the straps that were black. If you can borrow or buy a machine ( don't need a fancy one - I used a basic singer esteem 2 for everything) you may be happy with the results -
May want to take the legs in at the same time as putting the riding patches on. I never did it myself but if you are going to have it all cut open may as well.

DarthVorhees here makes a really nice one
-
Flykiller- it looks like your screw covers are taped to the snout aerator piece. Pull the tape off and you will see.
-
Are you looking to buy a whole flight suit/vest /bund or just the materials to make one/have one made?

far away creations armor kit and painting helmet.
01Hawk replied to Jakeputt's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Jakeputt- normally I would agree with you- people get jammed up in real life stuff and it can interfere with what products they supply- it is worse with Boba Fett parts as I am finding out- but they are very open about it. With this vendor I can speak from personal experience that he isn't always honest and here are a LOT of people here who have paid and have no product. For the same money and work you could have an Altmanns done and on your head in wayyyyyy less time. I hope it goes well for you but there is a reason he is the only vendor in the problem vendor list. None of the stuff I bought from him fit and it took longer than it should which everyone blames on customs - which is not the case and easily proved when there are dates on the package. -
That looks great!! I wonder how the chest / back size up next to an SC. I think my upper body /torso is long and would like to have it sit lower on my chest.
-
Here is an MC single piece belt vs my SC belt. I have my belt setup that the rear most plastic is just to wear my back starts ( so my whole side is covered with the plastic ). The MC wouldn't reach that far ( 34/36" pant size) . MC on top, SC on bottom. Also the MC has yellowed a bit. I bought it off someone on here so I am not sure how old it is- I have kept it out of the sun in a bin.

What to wear underneath flight suit.
01Hawk replied to obiwan-kukumber's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
I always figured I would wear basketball shorts and a t shirt but honestly I just wear boxer briefs and a wife beater t shirt -
While I haven't seen Chefs stuff in person I would figure it is really good given his role here.
-
At the top of the page in the helmet section there is a post comparing a lot of the helmets - lots of measurements and pictures that may help you. I also posted some in another post measuring my head to compare with the Altmanns Helmet which I really like

The general warning on stuff here is to avoid eBay but the seller Kripton5 seems to be Cucblack and you can reference the only person listed in the "Vendor Problems" section and draw your own conclusion on what that means..

01Hawk replied to Jakeputt's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
New name of Kripton5 it seems... Sad it says " 501st Approved". Also says completely untrimmed - should be interesting to see how that arrives since all his old ones came assembled.
