And since Dicky Beer was doing shows did anyone ask him? I am sure if someone was dressed up and showed him what we are talking about he may remember.

Lol-- I have a new OLED tv I have been dying to watch ROTJ on and today may be that day! The holster, the detonator and even the flight suit can easily be explained as someone not knowing what they are doing and putting it together wrong ( which still shouldn't happen). And being PC - if a lefty needs his holster on the left side go for it ! I don't want to be descriminating on south paws! In the end , it is all about how the costume appears on screen so it really isn't an issue, especially to me. I have a one piece from CB and I'm sure I would have to wait at least 4 weeks for him to make me a 2 piece so I will just live with it. I will be looking close at screen caps though
-
The inaccurate under suit is the deciding factor on a weathered outer piece? Is the theory they just had the 2 piece bund laying around and erroneously used it on this model?
-
I think the one thing that is definitely conclusive is my phone likes to make me appear to have the spelling skills of a first grader as I have had to edit my posts twice lol.
-
Again, soley for conversation for people who haven't been here before and the sake of accuracy, in this picture - which appears to be screen used ( unless they beat the crap out of a test suit) the bund is clearly 2 pieces. There is no shadow, there no optical illusion- there is a distinct layer seen.
-
Not sure if that was directly at me , and I say this totally respectfully, when it comes to how things look, I'm not sure there really is an " if or maybe" in this instance. The piece is clearly 2 pieces. From a Lancer point of view ( which isn't my personal goal), how could you not want this as a requirement? I know this has been discussed before since I posted the same pic when I got my Star Wars costume book and was like " hey check this out" and quickly shot down.
-
For some reason, which I don't understand, people don't seem to find issue with this when considering accuracy. 2 mm off on your elastic? That is a problem. Completely incorrect one piece bund/cod when compared to the actual costume - that is ok. The reasoning it that it can't be seen so it doesn't matter.

I think most people leave the tube that color.

I don't have fans in my Scout. I also don't use a mic for it. People hear me pretty well with out a mic. The open ear holes help with air getting in and I am sure fans would help a bit. I did switch to an Under Armour balaclava and that made a big difference in how my head felt after a few hours. I have worn it for 5-6 hours outside in 85-90 heat and , while a bit sweaty, never had an issue.

Cat crap is a brand of anti fog material you would put on the lense to keep it clear. In reading about it it gets mixed reviews. I am hoping to try some different online methods today since it is 20 degrees here and Should fog up as soon as I walk outside lol. A lot of posts say dish soap works just fine

The SC does not come with soft parts unfortunately. The KS stuff is just my opinion and there are people here who do like them. I would encourage you to read a few builds and look at their pictures/experience to help make your decision. A lot of " what's good/bad" conversations come down to personal levels of taste/accuracy/budget and what your end goal is. Random people , not involved in the hobby, will find either one to be fine and like your costume. As far as my gap - I just bent the lense material in a way it doesn't contact the faceplate completely in all areas. I only tacked it down in a couple spots. In my mind it lets it breath better. I don't have Fogging issues in the summer/warm weather with my SC nor my Altmanns ( which is tightly sealed). I did wear my Altmanns in the cold to see TFA and it fogged up right away. Not the fault of the helmet, I just need to get fans or put something called " cat crap" on it.

I think the black one in this pic is the Lowes one, the middle one the one that came with my SC and the plastic gray one is the 3M one - it has been a while since I took this pic and they have since been painted so I can't check
-
I am 5'11 and 205 and wear SC fine. Make sure your bund/pouches are sized correctly though. My pouches aren't tall/long enough for my torso. I wouldn't buy a KS soley based on people's poor experiences here. I like to spend my $ on vendors who are active here, provide excellent customer service and actually care about the product they put out. I have an SC helmet and an Altmanns. Both are very nice and I tend to wear my Altmanns now . The SC is a bit smaller/lighter though and I have a gap in my lense on that one which lets it breathe a bit more so minimal fogging
-
I got ones that are pretty close at Lowes .. I am not home right now to check the size but they looked good to me.

I thought my Hyperfirm was unbreakable and decided to show that feature off at Baltimore Comic Con. I tossed it into the ground and Lucky for me someone had a tube of super glue for me when the scope snapped off lol. I still love it though. I think I am on the list for a Duff as well.

Off to a good start!

I have a Negative Eleven and a Hyperfirm. Both are very nice but I tend to use the Hyperfirm since it is pretty light. DarthVorhees here makes a very nice blaster as well.

First helmet, which and how to buy?
01Hawk replied to Geographer's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I love my Altmanns. I would like to try a Chefs as well but for now my Scout budget has to stop at 2 Helmets. I also like my SC but the Altmanns fits my body size better. -
I am anxious to see his kit . I like how he interacts with people on FB - seems friendly and his other products look very nice.
-
Not sure which you ordered but I think they have a " long" verison for each size- I had the same problem when I got mine

On guard boots and or other sources
01Hawk replied to Josafoot's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Soft Parts
They wouldn't pass for clearance ( which If you aren't looking to join the 501st is not an issue) as is. You would have to wrap them like regular boots and all the designs on the side would stand out. You would also need to paint the heels. -
The Scout helmet is a Starfortress one and horrible. Amazing someone can stock THAT many different helmets/armor.

What are KS big problems to look out for?
01Hawk replied to shockwave326's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I don't have a KS but there are enough negative experiences to make me stay away. I like dealing with people who answer Emails etc when I buy stuff. I have an SC and an Altmanns and like them both. I am partial to my Altmanns right now. Both vendors were great to deal with. LW would be a good one as well but you can't seem to be able to buy one. I would love to get a Chef one but 2 is enough for me right now. -
The concern I had was that the rivets connect the ends to the center belt. I really thought that had to be glued for basic. If it was 2 for the webbing I could see that getting by but I swore they had to be glued to the center section for basic

I went back and looked it up- I am wrong - the 501st page says one piece look is for level 2 only. Sorry about that.
