  1. Great work! One concern is that you might find the bund riding a bit high, or low, when you put the belt on since it looks a bit tall. It should end at belt level in the bottom and by the straps in the top. It's an easy fix however, just a stitch in the top, cut off the excess with half an inch of margin, fold it, and sew another stitch. But wait until you have the belt done before doing the measurement.
  2. What do you need us for? Seems like you got everything spot on Well, except the TD. The rank badge greeblie, the left one, should have the pointy things upwards. I think that's the norm these days.
  3. But how do we handle the fact that the armor in most of these sources is totally wrong? Don't we risk ending up in a discussion on what armor parts are correct and not, just because there's a licensee out there that doesn't have a bluray-version of ROTJ to check what they are doing?
  4. Hey! Don't point a gun at us! You're looking great! Well, as great as you can in half a suit. I've come to realize that you look like a total dork until you put your helmet on, but that's something we have to live with... Your elastics could go an inch or so up. They sit higher than you think, so look at some reference shots and try to get them as high as there. Mine are up to crotch level actually. I love the pouch fabric, just remember to try and get the same colour on your straps. Not a requirement for basic approval, but for Lancer it is, and it does look a bit better.
  5. Hehe! Yes that was very lazy!
  6. And for anyone wondering, it's not a real debate since there are no opposing views, rather a check on how to proceed, should there be a need to do so. And so far no TB sniper rifles have been seen in the garrison, so no one has been denied approval of one.
  7. Hey... no need to drag down our garrison. Get something approved if you want to, but there's no need to talk down the entire group and the GML team.
  8. Great work! You might want to scale down your pouches a bit however so they just reach the top of the belt. But I'm picky
  9. You should be happy. Looks great!
  10. Looking good! Your leg straps could however be a bit tighter (I know I know, it's a pain to change! ).
  11. Huge improvement! But the pic is a bit small so it's hard to check the details. But defitively a huge step in the right direction!
  12. Hm, that's a clever idea!
  13. Looks great! Love the bund since there's no camel toe Your forearms looks good, if anything I would say the should move down. The "norm" is that they cover the top of the gloves as much as possible as seen on some scouts in the movie. They do however move around a lot between shots, but IMHO it looks better with them down. So your right one looks good, and the left one should come down. And get some socks, man! No shoes, no socks, no service
  14. Great way to prototype! I see you use 7 stitch lines on the bund, you can also use 6 if you want to, makes it a bit slimmer and it will probably be easier for you to get the pouches to hang in line with the stitch lines. CRL: [cummerbund] Has 6 or 7 vertical stitch lines producing 5 or 6 raised ribs (troopers choice) of equal width stitched into the front between where two fabric pouches are connected.
  15. For the opening, there's no requirement that it has to be able to fully open. I can't open mine more than a couple of inches. But I never open it anyway. And if you're a real perfectionist, check your neighborhood for a car painter to get a good paint job. Might cost you a few bucks though.
  16. You can try using acetone to clean it up and get the paint off. It shouldn't affect it if it's fiber glass.
  17. Yeah, there's been a lot of debate on the collar and balaclava of that scout, and also the ribbed neck seal. If you want to be approved however, you have to follow the CRL which states closed collar, balaclava, and no neck seal. You have to remember that these where stunt performers, performing in a forest in the summer. So they probably "forgot" some parts, not really planning for high-def blu-ray movies with screen capture capability And the guy in the neck seal was shot in a studio, so they probably smacked something on there just for that shot. On a side note, speaking of the Endor forest, Anthony Daniels told me in person that every morning the crew had to go out and knock down 'widow makers', i.e. tree branches that where about to fall down and potentially hit someone. Apparently this was a very big issue, so for anyone travelling there, look up!
  18. Your belt could move up a bit, put some velcro on the inside of the front, and on the back behind the TD. Then put a corresponding piece on the bund, one on the front and one in the back (cold be a pain due to there already being velcro for the closure, but it's doable). Just a small piece, say 2"x1", will suffice. That keeps the belt up and if you put them so that the belt is in line with the bottom of the bund (covering it completely) you never have to worry about the bund showing. It's a 15-20 minute exercise, but well worth it
  19. I followed another tutorial here and used car masking film which I cut to shape. It's the orange thing in this pic: and the result: It got a bit flared on the lower right, but I used a blade and corrected that quite easily. In short, many ways to do this. Should anyone wonder which way is the best, well... Lonewolf is the master
  20. It probably does, depending on the grey. Most primers seem to work, krylon, rustoleum, plasti-cote etc. If you're unsure then just post up a sample.
  21. Wet sand, get wet sanding paper, get it wet, sand, dry ;-) . It's mostly used for cars, so any place that has car stuff will probably have it. Get some different grits, down to the one that feels like a newspaper.. For abs you can't beat E-6000 glue. Some use CA-glue and kicker, but I have no experience with that.
  22. Looks good! Although your shoulders could be brought down some. Especially your left arm will be hard to raise up
  23. Nice nice nice
  24. Or check for Makita clips, like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Makita-BELT-CLIP-fits-BHP452-BHP454-BTD141-BDF452HW-LXT211-Brand-New-Authentic-/330901861588?pt=Tool_Boxes_Storage&hash=item4d0b49b4d4 . You just need some kind of Dremel tool, a drill (or in my case 4, drill sloooowly I learnt after a while), 4 screws with bolts and washers and some black paint I have these and the TD stays put, even with people bumping in to me.
  25. I like that... "future"... There's always something to improve and fix! :-)
