Unfortunately I haven't had enough time last weekened as we took some shots for a present. But I used the chance and had my gear with me. This is the best I have currently (RAW/NEF format available) *removed as call was made for mailing the stuff*

So the boots are painted as it probably has been petrol and black like the originals? Wow pretty nice job - I really thought these had been new boots from the shelves who happen to have the correct sole patern. Dang...... Too bad no one esle ever did cast his originals :/ *walks off looking at GBX Boots again - sniff*

Hey sorry for being at loss for words but I just wanted to know if these are available somewhere or a lucky find on some place like fleebay
-
Just let me say one word: where? cool base
-
Where do you get these renders? Is there a possibility to get the whole thing?
-
I'd need two pairs in size 9 (or close) and if possible one pair in size 7. Depending on privce though. There may be 1 or 2 boots more if they're reasonably priced as we're forming a small GM squad in our squad area.

Too bad the sewing thread doesn't seem to carry the dye. I guess it's synthetic material. Is it really that bright or is it just the flash brightening up the fabric? I hope you find some grey colored material for you riding pads and look forward to the progress. -
Don't forget to add the riding pads . Best Kashyyk Trooper I've seen so far! Thumbs up and cool to see one of the original Barcs of Mike completed.

Congratulations to Robert and thanks Nathan for accepting the challenge.

The latest collective concensus has been the current british desert camo. I only find it via that description - there seems no specific abreviation or name. Here is an example http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/ishop/877/shopscr2975.html You need to get cotton to get it dyed.

Sci-Fire Kashyyk Scout Trooper Helmet progress...

If you have any scout helmet I'd say a tad bigger than a regular rubies or its derivates. This is assuming the original scout helmet was bigger too just that the vinyl casting process has lead to shrinking of certain parts. This way a wide range of heads will fit in there without getting too big I think. -

How about making them two seperate elements but instead of a flip visor making it an attachable visor with an embedded thread and screw bolts? Just in case some heads might not fit through the neck hole. -

Frank makes some good points. Here is my take illustrating some points: What we see in this pictures: - possible evidence for edge below the cheeks in CGI - different lens frames in illu (current Sci-Fire WIP) and CGI - bow of nose arch smoothly - different impressions of the dome shape (I'd say the golden middle is making it a tad straighter than TB) Discuss... -

Unfortunately Billhag is right On the positive side of things I'm glad that sci-fire now has the correct dome shape. -

That already looks quite impressive. You seem to incorporate a lot of the details the concept illustration has revealed. If so - I wonder if you're going to open up the vents beneath the lens frame, forehead and on the back of the nose as well? These would be quite practical preventing fogging and help the general air circulation. I know that the original on screen characters only had textures indicating that there might be vents but I'm sure those functions were intended by design. -
I guess current plans had been CB but as the name has changed to Kashyyk Trooper or Kashyyk Scout as Peaches already mentioned it probably won't have any Bs in it. CB would obviously spared for those real "Barc" Troopers. Even though classic scouts are designated TB with the emphasis on Biker. Also the term Kashyyk Scout (imo a wrong designation) is going to lead to a shared prefix with the clone wars scout. I think both units have nothing in common but that would be the consequence. I never liked the abreviations of the legion - I think they're inconsistent and often illogical but I odn't want to unroll another discussion here.

Hey Marcel - did you read my entire message? It's not about giving ground - it's about fighting! - Not necessarily for getting a dish on the table but to establish an own alternative so that recasters get at least some direct competition again.
-
Splendid Isolation So guys - we're branded and exiled when it comes to clone armor and especially Kashyyk Trooper Armor. It seems we're left alone no matter what reputation we've got and as the legion cannot give up the neutrality on armor sourcing we have to care for ourselves. I think it's possible - it's not that people here aren't capable. I don't like the option to buy crappy recast stuff or to burry my head in the sand but I'm not able to do a top notch armor project all alone. So I wonder if we can gather a few qualified and trusted guys in europe to do this. To get it to a similar standard as our future US Kashyyk Troopers we need quite professional people with access to professional tools. Any ideas how to do this and how to contribute? Do we have enough interest to justify and to fund such a project?

Unfortunately it seems like that. Too bad for me burying the project once again. However - good luck with the project and show the world how a Kashyyk Trooper has to look like. -

I definately love your clone armor - especially the use of flexible parts I like the most. One day I like to speak with you about one of those armors (Actually I tried already on CTN but maybe that message got MIA). I'm pretty sure the Kashyyk Trooper will become awesome and the right people took over the heritage of Mike. Nevertheless I hope we get the chance to examine the final 3D meshes before you're switching to CNC and casting process. I guess what is left is a new run of Reinone for boots -
The Acrylikhan Armor Project Files

Frank you definately need a bigger bucket . A quick solution: This guy from south america has slightly bigger bucket - I'm not sure if that one will be enough but you would have to use your divine skills to get it in a more optimized condition. The mad and cool solution: You sculpt form scratch. - too bad I couldn't make use of such a creation. I'm sure it'll become badass. -
These are wonderfull news - I cannot imagine any better crew to take over the torch. Will they work with us here - so we can give input?

If I were Mick Jagger I'd invite you all to my island to do all this stuff the whole day long followed by nice "after work" parties . Unfortunately I'm not Mick Jagger and he himself hasn't shown any interest yet to do so
