  1. Right on, coming back into the "active" Lancer ranks. Welcome back brother.
  2. If you've joined your local Garrison's boards, you should see if someone is hosting an armor party so you can bring your kit and work on it with some supervision. Another good thing is to find out when the next local troop is where there would be a quality scout trooping, and pick their brain, check out their armor and see how they put it together.
  3. Pm me your address, i'll send you a lense. Oh, and the helmet will look more proportionate once you have your armor on.
  4. I too used ach helmet pads, and they are comfy. As far as prep work, like they said, get the finest sand paper you can get for the wet sanding. When painting, the warm water trick is a life saver, cause if you bring a can from a cold house outside into the heat, you're asking for all kinds of trouble if you paint right away. Learned that the hard way, and had to wet sand my helmet all over again. Once you finish painting, let it rest, give it a lot of time to dry so that paint cures.
  5. Looks nice. Good job. And I know how much of a pain doing those could be. Witness is a robot when it comes to this.
  6. Basically what Dart said, is how I did mine, and Pla3guis's bucket. I'll get around to adding a fan some day.
  7. Hey hey now....I'm a clean scout, and I'm happy! Ahhh the pressures of going dirty though..is building.
  8. Boxes could still stand to come up a tad, but seeing as how it's the nylon webbing, I wouldn't worry about adjusting it until you change out to cotton webbing. Looking good so far.
  9. You'll be fine, trust me. Plenty of help here to get you approved.
  10. Yeah, not to hard. Just makes sure you trim right. I know when you order a helmet built from KS, they use carpet tape instead of glue. Just remember, E6000 takes time to cure, and there's not too many places to clamp on a KS helmet. The one I put together, I used a bit of ca glue since it dries faster. Just my 2 pennies. Just take it slow.
  11. WANT!!!!!!!! I echo what Dave said..maybe dislike is a better word to use. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out, though we all know it's gonna be awesome.
  12. The lid, is not as hard as you might think. I've put together 1 for a friend, and have 2 more waiting for me to put together. Just take it slow, and fit everything together before you make it permanent.
  13. Not familiar with KS armor so I can't give you a good answer. I know it's wide, so you might have some issues there. I know way back when I joined there was a member who was working on a KS kit and she did a great job with it. I'll see if I can find the old thread and link you to it. Ok, found it. Here ya go.
  14. What Witness and Jim said. Def be patient and don't rush the build. Take your time, measure twice and cut once, etc. We're not going anywhere.
  15. Woo hoo 3 Lancers for Squad 7! Congrats bro, glad to help.
  16. Also, your suit is a little more baggier then it needs to be, and I don't think the bund will solve all the bagginess problems. When you put that bund on, the strap that will connect to the back would cause the suit to balloon out. I would def have the suit taken in so it fits better.
  17. It'll fit. I know a guy that troops with it for long marches since it's light weight. He does have a ks blaster though as well.
  18. Nice! Look forward to see how all of this turns out. I'm sure you could craft more sets for women, and shorter men looking for a smaller set of armor.
  19. I got mine at Jontay.com, which is where I told BJ to get his.
