  1. As long as the material is cotton it should be good. Just don't get the "ripstop" material. That just plain sucks! And, if you can get the shirt and pants from the same place, they should dye the same. If they are from different vendors, they might end up a slight different color. And when you dye them, if they have a slight purple tint to them, don't worry. That's just the black dye. Dye them as dark brown as possible, but add just a small amount of black to give them the darker tone.
  2. Good coloring and weathering.
  3. Oh, that looks like rubbish. I suggest that you ship it to me, immediately, for proper disposal. Just joking. Looks great! Cheers!
  4. Wow. Why didn't I see this post earlier? Rebels? Nah...they have that AT-DP Scout Patrol thingy... Nobody still knows the proper source of this. Yes, it's on a large Fathead wall sticker. Yes, it's on the back of the large Jakks Scout Trooper package... And...it's also in the Star Tours II ride. (A moving visual reference.) (The Sky Trooper only had TWO references...an action figure...and it's appearance in the Star Tour ride.) It's a "Kashyyyk Biker Scout." I have made one of these costumes. Finished it last Septemeber. And, I don't believe that it's graphic artist laziness. It is Kashyyyk Trooper armor that is mostly white with a black undersuit...sound familiar? But, if anyone bothers to look at the helmet and its details, you can see that it's a morph of the Kashyyyk Trooper and a ROTJ Biker Scout. The change had to occur somewhere between Ep. III & Ep. VI. I had submitted it for approval and was told that two of the three references that I provided were a "marketing mistake." I followed all of the rules, provided the three "LFL approved" images, which shows an all-around view, and I have even written a CRL. I was told that this character should have a backstory. When has a backstory been a requirement for a new character? Never! I will resubmit it after the election has calmed down. Malus, if you want to also build one of these, start out with a regular set of Kashyyyk Trooper armor.
  5. I think those boots would work. You might not get too high with modifications on that large inside arch, but the smaller little arches on the sole are easy to modify with a dremmel. Those are like military boots, which I have used.
  6. Go camo! You can get dirty and it will probably match the armor!

  7. Looking good, Ian.
  8. Checkout Dan Trippler's build. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=12127 He has a set of Bikerchick armor also. His build thread shows some good pics onhow to attach the tank. And, bondo is your friend. It's interesting to work with. Plus, the sanding involved afterwards...
  9. Alex, he's asking about a Kashyyyk Trooper back tank.
  10. As far as you can get it, so you will still have enough room for the tank topper, and still have a little room around that.
  11. You'll need the elbow straps also. Contact bikerchick. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showuser=20517 She makes the PGHFett style armor now. But, the shin greebiles would be the same. She could provide you with those missing pieces. The small rectangular piece in the bottom of your picture is a left inner bicep greeblie. If you have any other questions, just ask. Cheers!
  12. Right now, there is only one Kashyyyk armor maker. You could ask her. Otherwise, it would just take some modifications. But, I see you already saw the sale thread.
  13. Knee straps are the correct color of grey. I have no idea why the CRL says black. I believe a shade of grey is appropriate. All of the knee straps I have seen are either a light or dark grey.
  14. Wow! Looks great! The boots turned out real nice. Well done!
  15. Are those Crow62 boots? Why on Earth did he make the soles of the Kashyyyk boots black??? He has made them with the proper tan soles before...
  16. For the left bicep greeb, the small piece goes under the under the top bolt. It does not get cut in half.
  17. Don't want to crash the thread... Brent, I have used sticky-back Velcro. (Industrial strength) One part on the inside of the knee (cut to fit) and the other part on the back side of the knee pad. I used the pads that have the elastic strap, as well. That way you have the elastic around the back of your leg (knee) and the rubber strap on the knee armor itself. That might help. I did the same thing for the shoulder bells. Plus, if you didn't want to add a strap between the bicep and shoulder bell, put a piece of foam on the inside of the bicep, to hold it in place. I've done the straps and foam options on different builds. Either way works. Cheers! Pouches looks good, Roman. Love the color.
  18. That's what I used to attach the rubber belt to. Since there isn't a good sized lip on the rubber belt, I used that to connect them all together, along with the cummerbund. It also helps to keep the back closed, along with velcro on the cummerbund.
  19. Hey guys... Check the topic heading... This was posted in the Kashyyyk Scout Soft Armor section... And Joe, if you can get someone that is skilled with a sewing machine, there is just a small bit of a lip on the rubber belt. (With a BC Kit) Otherwise, I had to hand sew the rubber belt to a piece of 2" nylon strapping, and then I sewed the cummerbund onto the belt. That way the belt and cummerbund are one piece. Checkout quingald finn's KT build thread. Page 3 Mid-way down. http://forum.bikersc...pic=10918&st=40 He has some good pictures that show how he did his. (Plus, you can see where the nylon strap is underneath the belt.)
  20. Cummerbund design looks good to me! Well done! Cheers!
  21. GML's need to read the CRL's. (Not base it on their own opinion.) My to cents worth..."just sayin'..." However, I do like that Sniper's have their own spray paint...
  22. Humbrol Desert Tan for the base looks good. The Humbrol green looks good for the olive camo "splotches." Now, you have to pick a brown.
  23. Similar to these... Plus, the dye colors will vary with each build. Looking good! Cheers!
  24. Yup. What Brent said.
