I don’t know Boss. Someone else has pulled ahead and has his stuff painted already. Now that you’re down to just one build in progress I’m sure you’ll catch up in no time [emoji6].

Nice job on the collar. For the patches, I’d raise the top up to at least were your zipper starts, and I strongly recommend rounding the squared off portion at the top. If you don’t have your measurements just right then that squared corner may poke out from behind your cod piece. It probably won’t effect basic approval, but if you plan to go for Lancer, and I hope you do, then you may be asked to round those corners if they do protrude past your cod piece and that means seam ripping that portion of your patch, cutting the suede and restitching it by hand.

Phil, your measuring the head of the rivet, the part that is actually exposed on the holster. I’m think 1/8” would be 3.175mm, but I’m not sure if that size is available over the pond. Check with your UKG mates. The 4mm might be the equivalent you’re looking for. It looks right in your photo, but double check to be sure. On a side note, I’m really glad to hear that you’re going to see this through. We’re all pulling for you!

Ditto! Well done brother!

It’s not listed in the CRL but it is what was used in the CRL model which is a part of the CRL. I used the incorrect size on my boots and had to switch them out for Lancer. It was one of the changes I had to make in my app. Thought I’d bring it to your attention so you can make sure to use the correct size now rather than have to remove them again when you pursue Lancer. As for 1/8” to mm, I think it would be 3.175, but I’d double check the conversion. I’m not to savvy on that stuff.

Phil, hang in there brother. You’re nearing the finish line. Not sure what rivet size you used initially, but make sure to use 1/8” rivets when reattaching your holster. It’s a must for Lancer.

Awesome Mickey! Congrats. Now you can use that special badge you have for those who have earned both Lancer and Vanguard! [emoji6]

specialist DS10895 - Shoretrooper Specialist Build
Aradun replied to Gertjan Kool's topic in Shoretrooper WIP
Hey Gertjan! I’ve been following your dialogue about the A280. Your comments are interesting. I get where you are coming from. However, keep in mind that game developers tend to keep things simple for cost effectiveness. It makes modeling way easier, which is why the rebel and imperial sniper class both use the same weapons in game. So the developers and artists are not really bound by SW canon in that sense. It will be interesting to see what the final CRL will include as options for weapons for this build once it is finalized, but I’m guessing it might be more in conformity with SW canon than in game options. Time will tell [emoji6]. Enjoying your WIP. Keep up the great work.- 80 replies

Hey Mike, if feel your frustration. Sorry bud. If the error is on the maker, hopefully they’ll make things right and recut and resend you the tubes for the boots. If it’s on you because your measurements were off, don’t panic. In either case, the tutorial Retrofire provided you will not only show you how to obtain the proper measurements but it will also show you how to make the tube yourself. It’s pretty easy, and will only cost you about a yard of marine vinyl from Joann Fabrics. The sewing for this portion of the boot is pretty simple too. Seam at the top and attaching the hook and loop. Take it from a guy who made his own boots using that tutorial who never used a sewing machine prior to this build. Post up if you need help and we’ll try our best to guide you through the process.

Dude, your work is always phenomenal. Great attention to detail as always.
