Hi Nico, thank you very much for your application. I noticed that you added the additional files as a transfer link. We ask that you please post the additional images in the thread, as this makes our review more efficient and means less time for us to get back to you on our feedback. You can look at using flickr, imgur, or dropbox to host the images in this thread. The photos also need to be of appropriate resolution, so that the team can zoom in and examine the details of your build. You can follow this post as an example: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/22040-tb-92576-lancer-deployment-request/ Thank you again!

Boot question?
Chopper replied to Redhackle's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" Weapons/Accessories
Lancer is available for the Mando Scout under the optional Level 2 requirements of the CRL. That said, for basic clearance the boot you've posted should be fine. -
Hey Manoh, thanks for the the additional photos. Pete and I chatted a bit and unfortunately, the current soft parts are just too weathered for Level 2/Lancer. Since I'm guessing you used spray paint, I'm not sure what it would take to reduce the weathering without also destroying or further discoloring the fabric at the same time. You might try a handwash and a toothbrush in a small less visible area to see if that does anything? As a reference, the soft goods in ROTJ had black spray misting, but were not heavily weathered.

[woobiee] 1st and New build! (Lancer probably)
Chopper replied to woobiee's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Looks great Andy. From what I can see, you shouldn't have any issue with basic clearance. Good luck! -

1) Based on the photos we have of the screen scouts, the bottom of the holster was cut shorter than the top. See below. I think the top of your holster is fine. No need to cut it further. 2) The only time I've ever seen additional support material added to a boot is with Gio's Crowprops boots -- and that's b/c he uses real leather. In your mock up shot from a few years ago, I'm not seeing a lot of boot crumpling? As mentioned, the most common solution to keeping the boots up is to add an elastic strap on the inside, which goes around your leg. You can conceal the stitch marks behind the holster, so try to get it rigged before you rivet it onto the boot. -
Years ago Polymer Armory sold me an extra metal trigger guard. Not sure if they're still actively producing gear, but you might want to send them a message. https://www.facebook.com/Polymer-Armory-177316858426/

There's this, which has some photos from the blu-ray: http://www.501stpathfinders.com/scoutopedia.php You can also look at swscreencaps to find the scout images: https://starwarsscreencaps.com/4k-star-wars-episode-vi-return-of-the-jedi-1983/

Hi Manoah, nice to see you checking in again! Hope things are going well for you in CA? I'll tag in @Retrofire, the other Level 2 armorer, for his opinion as well. IMO, while there was some subtle weathering on the Endor scouts, I unfortunately do think your soft goods are bit over-weathered for Level 2/Lancer and it would likely come up as an issue.

Nice Arne. You're almost there. -
Your belt actually looks slightly high to me. Your navel should be approximately just over the top edge of your belt. Is that about where you have it positioned now? Also, if your chest armor is still too low, you can work on overlapping the shoulder bridges to bring the chest and back armor up a bit. You can mock it up with some tape before doing any trimming. You might also want to put some foam or stiffener material behind your cod, which will help to stop the indent effect. I can't really see the boot vinyl creasing from your photos very well. They should pass basic clearance, at least from what I can see in your photos. What maker of helmet are you using?

I think it looks great. No issues as far as I can tell. -
Questions for studio creations armor
Chopper replied to EC-17 Holdout Blaster's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
There is only one rivet on each side of the belt for both the ROTJ and Mando scouts. Additionally, for the Mando scout, there is no narrow upper elastic on the knee armor along with no rivet. -
Hey Phil, congrats again on your approval. For Lancer, I recommend you read through this post first as a quick checklist: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/20150-lancer-deployment-request-rev-2021/ Otherwise, just go ahead and proceed with submitting a Lancer deployment request in the link below and the review team will work out any required changes that way: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/51-lancer-deployment-request/

You can also try some 90% iso alcohol on the excess E6000. Sometimes iso alcohol plus a q-tip will get it off too. -
Questions for studio creations armor
Chopper replied to EC-17 Holdout Blaster's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Unfortunately yeah, the SC instructions are quite old and Jeff hasn't really updated them to match the current CRL. You can use an awl to punch through the webbing, or just make a small opening with an exacto knife. You don't need much of a hole to get the end of the rivet through. If you want to prevent it from fraying, you can wick the edges of the hole a bit with a lighter. And if you have any scrap plastic from your build lying about, you can make some ABS paste to repair the holes in the belt: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42866-how-to-make-abs-paste/ -
RoTJ Biker Scout WIP by Kashew (First build)
Chopper replied to Kashew's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Looks pretty good overall. One note, the bridge covers you're using looks like twill tape, as opposed to elastic or webbing. It shouldn't matter for level 1/basic clearance though. -
Studio Creations offers just the holster from their website: https://www.studiocreations.com/howto/bikerscout/forsale_bike_replacementparts.html Whose armor are you using right now?

Looking to try "screen accurate" WTF helmet
Chopper replied to JBar's topic in Scout Trooper: "The Mandalorian" Armor/Helmet
That looks a lot like one of the 3D scout helmet models that's been floating around on the internet for a while. To me, the hard edges/squared off sides on the top of the face place are the parts that looks the most "off" in terms of accuracy. -

Another option I forgot to mention -- New Image Prop Replicas. They're UK based, so again, there's shipping, budget, considerations, etc: https://www.newimage-prop-replicas.co.uk/product-page/full-size-biker-scout-trooper-helmet-version-3 Some reviews on the helmet that folks have posted here in the past: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/20824-scout-helmet-vendor/&tab=comments#comment-190005 http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/20553-one-of-my-scout-helmets-just-arrived/ -

Unfortunately, the EFX helmets are much more difficult to get a hold of now that they've been "screen used". They weren't cheap when they released, now they're even more expensive! If you're looking for an accurate fully built helmet, one option is to talk to Spike on these forums about procuring an Altmann helmet. http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/13442-altmann-scout-helmet-barn-find/&tab=comments#comment-118800 As you probably know, SC also offers fully built helmets and build it yourself kits. RS props has a helmet, but being that it's made from the screen used ROTJ helmet, it's fairly pricey. -

These are two of the threads I've referenced in the past.
