The first of a thousand questions about my build...
Chopper replied to RZill's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Oh okay, in that case only 4" of velcro should be fine. -

I don't think you necessarily need industrial strength velcro. I'm not sure generally what size you are, but 4" on each side would probably be the bare minimum needed for the side strapping. Some people wrap the strapping all the way around the back, but that's not a requirement -- it's really up to you how to rig it up internally. If you end up needing more strapping, you can always email Jeff. He's sent me extra strapping in the past. -
Harbinger’s TB WIP (501st/Lancer Approved - but never done!)

The slots should be cut through for Lancer. -
The CRL for Level 2 states that "Polished cotton or mercerized cotton is preferred. Canvas or duck cloth is not permitted." Emphasis is on "preferred", but not required. As long as the cotton you use for your bund is, again quoting the CRL, "Made of smooth white cotton fabric", such as sateen cotton, then you should be fine. Your riding patch templates look a little bit too big. I did some markup in green to better show some adjustments to the pattern. Also, here some photos (Courtesy of our DL) of Gino's Scout from SWC 2017:

Harbinger’s TB WIP (501st/Lancer Approved - but never done!)

Hi Brien, your holster placement looks good. You might want to loosen your crotch strap a bit to keep it from pulling your codpiece between your legs. Otherwise, you look like you're well on your way. -
Both placement and size look good. I think you can go ahead and rivet it in where you've got it clamped. The ends of the holster are a high stress area on the plastic. Don't forget to use aluminum back up plates on the inside.

Placement looks good.

Nice dude.

@Retrofire, I believe it was Temple Armory: https://www.facebook.com/Temple-Armoury-231546154204492

Hi Scot, the bottom rivet was originally only intended to hold the 1/2" elastic onto the tank. It does not need to go through the back armor plate as well. Whether or not you choose to use the optional 1/2" elastic, it shouldn't be an issue if you only put the rivet through the tank and nothing else. If you still want to put the bottom rivet through both the tank and back armor, then you will need to get a longer length rivet from the hardware store. Guessing one with a 1/2" pull would prob work.

There's also the Negative Eleven blasters (resin), which are based off of the Kenner one: -

I would check with your local GML on that one. In the old days using the Kenner blaster was more common. You don't see it so often now. Keep in mind that the Kenner blaster is oversized compared to the actual holdout blaster. You'd also need to remove the trigger. The SC holster is fairly large compared to others, so it will probably fit? -
TB-82919 Requesting Lancer (WITHDRAWN)

No problem at all, DJ. Thank you for letting us know. We are always here if you need anything. -
My experience -- I take a size 9.5/10 US // EU size 43 and found that his boots fit fairly true to size. Gio is generally very responsive, so I suggest that you reach out to him directly if you have concerns about sizing. https://www.facebook.com/groups/108653819216581

[woobiee] 1st and New build! (Lancer probably)
Chopper replied to woobiee's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
BOOM! Right on Andy! That's some fine work! -
I generally do a once over with 220 grit sandpaper for overall smoothing. Then you can either use XTC 3D or filler primer (Rustoleum 2 in 1 filler and sandable primer) to fill in and remove the print lines. XTC 3D is resin based. Filler primer is sorta like spray on bondo and can take a few coats of spraying and sanding to get rid of the print lines. I do a spray, then a wet sand with 400 grit and then spray and sand again.

Yeah he did a really good job on the new model. It's a rotocast bucket with an ABS visor and faceplate.

There are a lot of tips out there for keeping your kit together while trooping. Feel free to use what works for you: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/18894-some-tips-for-keeping-your-scout-costume-together-while-trooping/

That's a new sculpt. Well, from a few years ago, but yes, a more recent newly created sculpt.

WIP: New Build - Long-Time Dream - ROTJ: Scout Trooper
Chopper replied to PatLFree's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
The pouches look a-ok. You might want to mount them a little lower, depending on where you armor and belt sit, but you can hold off on that until you do another try on. -

Position looks good. -
Where to purchase this or have one made?
Chopper replied to BikerScout98's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
As Mickey said, it's not needed for the ROTJ scout. If you're still looking to pick one up, Darman Props makes a very comfortable custom sized fabric neck seal. -

Going off the CRL image, about a 1/2" looks to be in the right ballpark. -
I don't know if Rob has changed anything on his detonator, and there'd be no reason for him to, but these photos are from a 2018 Lancer app.
