current value of a Lonewolf helmet?
Strider replied to Pandatrooper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I'd say about 150,- to 180,- EUR. CFO Mark is going to offer kits soon on a regular basis. You should've sold that one a year ago, lol ;-) -
The helmet that RS got was a production made helmet that deviated in some details (like the number of vents) from the screen used helmets. And no the liner they use is anything but accurate. There is a seller on the market here in the forum though who sells the accurate ones. Cheers

TB48104 Requesting Lancer Deployment (Approved)
Strider replied to Chopper's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Hi Corey, the Lancer Review Team and CS has completed their review and I'm happy to congratulate you on achieving Lancer status! Jim will make sure you'll get your badge and make the official announcement. Please send your action picture to Cheyenne (Forest Ranger) and we'll get you added to the wall. Now get on your speeder bike and report for duty! Cheers -
It's always difficult to judge soft parts without the armor since everything has to go together but here're a few observations: - Size of the cod piece looks good but you'd need to add more padding inside and get rid of the "camel toe" - pouches probably have to come down by an inch - size of pouched looks spot on - great gloves, almost a shame to use them for the costume ;-) Cheers

Looking great there, buddy! We've finished the review and are just waiting on final confirmation from senior management. Hey, is that a drum roll I hear... ;-) ? -

That's a really cool find! -
I would not think so. There is one complete headgear on amazon that comes with the incorrect bolts but I would assume that "what you see is what you get" with these replacements.
-
Or you just get them on Amazon and safe a few $$ ;-) >>> https://www.amazon.com/Fibre-Metal-Hard-Hat-F4001-Quick-Lok/dp/B015MG1SMK/ref=sr_1_4?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1511803134&sr=1-4&keywords=fibre+metal

The Ultimate Armor Comparison Thread!
Strider replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Maybe to clarify: We (as the 501st) can not give recommendations towards one seller or another. Also there are quite a few parameter in the decision making process which only you can make (eg, more accurate parts are usually more expensive). Also quality, service and availability can play a big role, too. The more research you do at the beginning the less expensive mistakes you're bound to make ;-) Cheers -

TB 13016 Requesting Lancer Status (WITHDRAWN)
Strider replied to PhinScout's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Hi Robert, thanks for the update pics. Here's our feedback list: - Both pouches should be about an inch apart from the last rib chamber respectively. - The cod looks very straight on the upper sides also very wide on the lower section when you compare to reference image, it also has straight stiching and it appears to be too high. - The shoulder bridge straps look loose, also because of how the armor is connected they look stepped on the side photos. As a suggestion I would cut off more of the bridge section of the front/back armor. - The chest to back side straps are bunched up on the chest side - The drop boxes should be even, one is lower than the other - The belt straps at the rear appear to cross over (which they shouldn't) - The cummerbund is bunched up a bit at the back Additional observation (not required): - On back photo some of the black decal is sticking up on left bottom of the tank. Also some of the six stripes are not quite straight. - Vest sleeves look at different lengths, probably a fitment issue, be aware when next kitting up. Cheers -
BikerScout007's "Strider" build
Strider replied to BikerScout007's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Nice build, buddy - glad you like the other parts as well. Looking forward to seeing you fully geared up -
I've already introduced my latest helmet upgrade in my armor thread a few weeks ago but have since then improved some parts of the assembly (which can make a huge difference for every bikerscout helmet no matter which maker) together with some better pics so I thought I share it again. Recently somebody called me a "scout connoisseur" which I found a bit funny and true at the same time. To me getting closer to the original armor is not just a nerdish endevour but also an creative challenge which I like in similiar way as other people solve puzzles or brainteaser tasks. With the current helmet I feel I'm about 96% percent close to the goal of the ultimate screen accurate helmet. It's funny; I've probably assembled more than 15 helmets so far but it still poses a challenge to get every detail exactly right. The tricky part is that the different pieces do not link together like pieces of a puzzle but are roughly attatched in a specific area. But: If you attatch it even slightly different then the last time it will influence the fit of all other parts. On the upside even if you've made a mistake by not optimally placing one part you may compensate for this by adjusting the adjacent parts. Long story short - here's the helmet, enjoy ;-)

Havrix' pre-clearance pictures for basic approval
Strider replied to Havrix's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Looks really good! I would just suggest to swap the 50mm nylon strap that connects back and chest against a 38mm cotton webbing one. Cheers -
Well, RS does not have any rights or a license to sell SW props. They're kind of using a void in UK jurisdiction...long story. The label "strictly limited" is simply to create demand and justify higher prices. I know for a fact that neither the kits nor the assembled helmets were limited. Well, the assembled helmets were kind of limited because they grew tired of making them but the numbers they assigned to the individual helmet were bogus. I would be extremely surprised if they ever turned down any inquiry about a bikerscout helmet kit.
-
Yeah right, as if they're not going to re-stock them ;-)
-
Off to a good start, man! I've also assembled one of their kits for a friend of mine without modifying any parts. It is possible to align all the pieces well but is a bit tricky. Generally I'm not to fond about their kits but atm there're not too many alternatives for kits with a lineage to the original. Anyway, here're a few pics from my RS build:

Very cool, I dig those freestyle projects -
Thanks, bro. That's an older biker scout figure from kotobukiya. They pop up on ebay once in a while.

Thanks. Re your questions: - I've placed a horizontal strap over the brim where the two dome halves are joined and a vertical strap above it. To make it nice&smooth I'Ve filled the sides with an epoxy putty - I think what you're seeing is a very slight "bump" that stems from the epoxy which I used to fill the gap between the two dome halves. Cheers

After reviewing the RS bikerscout helmet (see here >> http://bit.ly/2yFDC4P ) I found many things that were not accurate but it was also the first time I've held a helmet with a genuine lineage in my hand. And apart from the details the proportions of the helmet were intriguing. I thought I was pretty close with my old helmet but seeing the two next to each other did show a number of slight differences so I decided to upgrade my molds. After going through some iterations this was the final result:

Hmm, that sucks. I've used the brown color on some other lenses and it worked perfectly. Could it be that you did not use a sufficiently large enough bucket or did not stir it thoroughly?
